I’m enjoying Robert Bathurst’s character. I remember him in Cold Feet and Downton Abbey, where he played basically quiet characters. I haven’t seen him being personable but also powerful and two-faced/ruthless before.

I think surgeon/FIL guy said something about being on The Board so presumably he doesn't have power himself but can make suggestions to be approved by The Board.

Re the jacket, Flynn put it on her to wear because she was cold. It was definitely the jacket that gave it away. I hope Rida has the sense to see that she is being used by father-in-law surgeon. If she does move up to his team she won't get any special treatment, might be resented by more senior nurses already working there and will soon realise that big surgeon just wants to pull down Flynn who may or may not deserve it. He has at least proved that while he is a law unto himself he does respect and stand up for those who work with him. He sacked/wasn't allowed to sack Tariq because he is/was a terrible doctor who is all about the glory and fuck the hard work. The others hadn't seen how badly Tariq had handled the day that Flynn turned up as a patient, but Flynn did. To see him going the same way so soon afterwards was too much for him. He handled it badly but it was understandable. Tariq is definitely better off in Dubai where he'll end up in trouble yet again but hopefully that's the last we've seen of him unless they create a "he really can change and be a real doctor" storyline for him and I think it's gone beyond that now.

Does anyone else get irrationally annoyed by seeing surgeons etc. from 'upstairs' who aren't the proper Holby City surgeons? I want Elliot Hope and Dom Copeland, please, and if people are going to be swanning around saying they're from the Board, it should be Henrik Hanssen.

He was a self-hating gay man doing gay conversion therapy at the school (as headmaster) and it was all insane in the membrane. Dom and Hollyoaks. I was all about Hollyoaks for years and years because it is mental and fun and annoying and sometimes deliberately hilariously over the top and sometimes accidentally hilarious but it does go in for some interesting storylines that are maybe helpful to the yooot it's aimed at. Would recommend for anyone who likes that level of entertainment but it's just recently fallen out of my stories through no fault of its own, well there has been a bit of a drop in quality, but it did give me years of something batshit to watch and enjoy.

I came on to say about Fletch....don't remember an Elliott though.

Just googled, Elliott was in Holby and is Nigel in Eeastenders.
