I think that was a comment on how stretched the ambulance service is, but it was a shock - she was so abrupt. I'd have liked to see her and Indie go rogue and scoop the poor woman up.

Not to mention it seemed to be 3.15am, just before Indie got in the ambulance and then 5 something am when she laid down in the ambulance.

They better not wreak Dylan for us!

OK. That makes sense!! Thanks.

Was anyone else a bit taken aback by how Jan spoke to the lady who was lying on the floor and had been waiting for an ambulance for 7 hours? Jan has always been such a lovely caring character that for her to be so dismissive seemed very out of character. It wasn’t very believable.

Yes @NorthernGirl1981 I actually said to DH Jan will probably hop in that spare ambulance with Indie to go and rescue her!

Myself and my daughter said the exact same!! I even said if Iain or Jacob were there all the rules would be broken!

Absolutely! There’s no way on earth that Iain would tolerate an elderly lady
being left to lie on a cold floor for 7 hours! He’d have been off to her house as fast as lightning to save her.

I’m a bit worried the writers are slowly but surely turning Jan into a miserable grouch! I’ll be petitioning for the return of the Real Jan if that’s the case!

I thought Indie was heading for a mega bollocking for basically hanging up on her and leaving her but nope Jan did much the same.

I suppose they're trying to show what really happens.

LIZS · 10/02/2025 14:40

Oh no, just seen Olly Rix is due to join imminently.

spiderlight · 10/02/2025 15:03

Another pompous new consultant incoming, then? He'd better not be replacing Dylan!

LIZS · 10/02/2025 15:47

Also Robert Bathurst so looks like a big change coming.

MadisonAvenue · 10/02/2025 15:47

He’s going to be the new Clinical Lead.

bizzey · 10/02/2025 16:03

Ohh ...I recognised the name and googled just to check !
Yes ..it is Trixie's husband !!
I hope he sings in an episode ...he has an amazing voice 😁😁!

But it also mentions a spun off of Casualty...

? Internal Affairs ..?

I think the name was ...

Anyone know of a spin off from Casualty ...(Apart from HC of course 😂😂! )

spiderlight · 10/02/2025 17:54

I think 'Internal Affairs' is just the title of the next 12-episode story arc.

bizzey · 10/02/2025 18:01

Have I misread it ?

LIZS · 10/02/2025 18:04

I assumed it was the next plot arc. Gives hope Jodie's storyline will soon conclude.

bizzey · 10/02/2025 18:05

Jodie will just end up in bed with him ! 😂

bizzey · 10/02/2025 18:06

She has daddy issues !

HobnobsChoice · 10/02/2025 18:33

Another ex-military medic if he's just returned from a tour of duty. Maybe he and Iain will have a hero-bloke contest. Who can run the fastest in a hurricane with an organ for transplant or deliver a baby to a pregnant woman trapped in a storm drain with only a balloon and a disposable Bic lighter.
I hope he looks a bit less sweaty than when he was in Call the Midwife. Surprisingly muscular from a quick Google of him! 😯

bizzey · 10/02/2025 18:53

I just hope they do a Karaoke night and he sings !!! 😂...

🤣 it could be drama levels ike a episode of ER.

There were a few storm dramatics in that. In fact I think a baby was delivered in a storm (but not a storm drain - that was just a trapped child rescue) but it was by c section for added peril.

Loved ER!!

I think it was to highlight that there are 100s of call outs to the NHS for the elderly who fall, many wait 7 hours and more, it is heartbreaking.

Realistically call handlers cannot leave the post to help, as much as they would like too.

WhatICallMyUsername · 13/02/2025 07:39

But my point was to highlight the ridiculousness of Casualty and doing what they want 🤣

EBearhug · 13/02/2025 07:54

Most call handlers wouldn't be newly trained paramedics anyway, I'd have thought.

True, it's bonkers.
It was hard to watch her lying there.

That wouldn't matter, they still couldn't walk out on shift. I'm sure there are medical students working as callhandlers.
