Waiting for triage...

AnImaginaryCat · 08/09/2024 10:31

Well, new thread presuming we'll be able to find it by the time it comes back on!

What will happen in the new series?

Will we discover if Tariq will get away with his bad and selfish behaviour? Or will he have morphed into a competent and modest doctor?

Will it be ever mentioned again that Nicole had a baby?

Will Faith have become a doctor and fast tracked to consultant. Her son now Holby's number one crime lord.

Will Sophia be gone and forgotten and the lovely Dylan just carry Dylaning? (Hopefully.)

Will there be more weird slow mo whole cast walking in a group scenes?! (Have to say I was half expecting to get that end of film character summaries of what they ended up doing that was popular in the end of 80s films, at the end of the last episide!)

See you all in December!

Littletreefrog · 08/09/2024 11:10

I dont think Sophia is right for Dylan she is up to something.

Doubleraspberry · 08/09/2024 13:15

OK, I know it was raised on the last thread but WTF was that storyline about Nicole giving birth. A medical professional, giving birth prematurely, to a baby she knows has Down’s Syndrome and therefore could very well require immediate neonatal help, INSIDE A HOSPITAL, insists that her baby is delivered by a colleague she doesn’t know very well who has no obstetric experience? I mean, just why?????!

spiderlight · 08/09/2024 14:20

Queueing up at Reception!

The Tariq-only birth was ridiculous. They should definitely have called for help. I'm guessing it's the start of a redemption arc for Tariq, but it was completely out of character for Nicole and she would have wanted to be surrounded by obs/gynae/experienced midwives, especially given the risk of heart problems in babies with Down's Syndrome. Has the skills lab ever been mentioned before?

The Malala-style storyline came from absolutely nowhere and I can only assume that it was meant to introduce Siobhan to the police chief, although he seems to have gone to the same acting school as Dylan so I won't be sorry if he's never seen again.

Thisisme1234x · 08/09/2024 16:14

I think ‘Dylan’ is a great actor, easily one of the best on the show.

Pastryapronsucks · 08/09/2024 16:24

Strange episode. Enjoyable, nethertheless.

I agree, why the flip didn't Tariq wheel her off to maternity.

MrsMoastyToasty · 08/09/2024 16:37

I am speaking to PALS. We need episodes before Christmas.

Why didn't Tariq use a desk phone to get help. There would have been one nearby.

Or, you know, just ignore the woman slightly out of her mind in labour and just head off to get help anyway?

bizzey · 08/09/2024 18:38

I have got a paper cut and need to see Dr Dylan...I don't mind waiting 🥰!!

HobnobsChoice · 08/09/2024 20:15

I like the never mentioned before skills lab, that Tariq took care to mention was very far from the emergency department and where neither of them had a phone signal. At a push he could have got her on the convenient trolley and wheeled her to either maternity or a and e. And that Nicole got to somehow go to the ED posy partum rather than maternity.

The sun Malala storyline was a bit shit and yes was clearly there to introduce New Cooper to Siobhan. I actually love both Siobhan and Stevie in the affair storyline. I think both are very believable, but Siobhan is breaking my heart. I think she is a great character.
Also the newly discovered Triage room 1. Bobby or whatever he was called has done them a massive favour finding that room!

Purple nurse will hopefully be gone by Christmas. And also Holby will introduce a rule that means not only can't you apply for a medical degree during your shift or wander off to a training room but you can't keep answering your personal mobile!

itwillnotopen · 08/09/2024 22:26

I'm just sad that I have to wait until Christmas?!

bizzey · 09/09/2024 03:13

But it was such a flat episode ...there is no anticipation for he Christmas episode ..

We are usually predicting things !

We will be lucky to remember it is back on at this rate !!

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/09/2024 12:35

Just seen first of Saturdays nights

The old man dying to be with his wife. I did have a tear in my eye

Didn't Ian and faith live together before

I thought the baby looked as if had downs when saw the Frontal pic but sure scan said was a girl

Will watch second part and be back later 😂

hoarahloux · 09/09/2024 22:46

Poor Nicole. As a surrogate she is the baby's mother. I wonder if she'll fight. Rosie has been vile to her and the baby since she found out he had DS.

Hopediesfirst · 10/09/2024 12:29

Very flat episode, I thought there was going to be an explosion in the new surgical wing or something, or a patient getting shot by the armed police..

Wetherspoons · 10/09/2024 13:12

It's a shame we can't edit the title of this new thread to be something like
BBC Casualty: Activate the major haemorrhage protocol #dotheslowmowalk
or
BBC Casualty: Activate the major haemorrhage protocol & do the slow-mo walk
because that slow-mo walk they did was truly cringe-inducing.

Not sure if I’m in the minority or not on here with this opinion but I think the actor who plays Dylan is fantastic..

William Beck - he IS fantastic. His acting ability, and that of Elinor Lawless and Melanie Hill, is what keeps the show afloat. Especially when Charles Venn is chewing up the scenery and Faith (not sure who plays her) is ‘Awwwww sweetheart’-ing all over the place.

No!! I mean do we need to recall it - no to a reminder of that horror!!

I meant Jacob, sorry!! Dylan is absolutely awesome - best actor in it by a country mile.
