Was it pretend Amazon man's daughter? I'm rarely observant enough to spot these things!!

If it was he had a rubbish Christmas day - delivering parcels and then crashing in a tunnel afterwards. (I did wonder if there were multiple writers involved - some thought it was Christmas day and others thought it was before!!).

I think the dog.was in his van in the tunnel. Yes pretend Amazon man was not having a good day. I thought we were going to have a forklift truck/warehouse disaster at the beginning but in true Casualty fashion they opted for a Ian's car rolling over. No one seems to be able to crash a car without it rolling several times, I think their stunt team have a formula and are sticking with it.

daffodilandtulip · 22/12/2024 10:01

The timings were odd. Ian had the parcel delivered, so it couldn't have been Christmas Day as they don't work, then he worked a shift but then when he went home it was like Christmas was over.

I think possibly they worked the Nightshift so when he left the house it was Christmas Eve but when he returned it was Christmas Day but it was all very odd because it seemed to be late on on Christmas Day not Christmas Day morning so who knows.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/12/2024 11:30

Yes I thought they were working Xmas eve shift into ratites hours of 25th

Wetherspoons · 22/12/2024 13:12

I've gotta be honest, it does annoy me that Rash is still in Casualty because I'd love to see Neet Mohan go on to do other things in his career and that's because he's such a good actor.

I don't think his career is (currently) living up to its potential.

spiderlight · 22/12/2024 17:03

I think Iain said he'd finished his shift but would go for the blood anyway, but I agree the timing was odd. Is he permanently HEMS now?

The dog was Amazon man's - I think Dylan said something like 'OK, but only while he's in the department' so he's just looking after him, but I bet he ends up keeping him or it motivates him to get a new one. It won't be the same as Dervla though 💔

AnImaginaryCat · 22/12/2024 17:47

Was so delighted when Iain staggered out the car holding the blood box to know we have the Casualty ridiculousness back.

I've missed it!!

As expected, a great mix of syrup and the ridiculous. I liked the real life stories. My partner and I were prompted to give blood again. We have signed up for Christmas Eve.

Out of curiosity, what would be a hard watch? 🤔

Something that I have to concentrate properly on like an involved drama rather than just a soap that 'runs in the background'.

purpleme12 · 22/12/2024 21:22

I thought it was brilliant actually

Made me cry in places

purpleme12 · 25/12/2024 20:32

Bump

Decafflatteplease · 25/12/2024 21:17

So glad it's back on!

Enjoyed the blood episode. I keep trying to donate but my area is booked up until may!

Just before the crash Ian said he was 12 mins drive? away so how did he walk there so fast?!

I had the exact same thought.

I love the episode but all the stuff around Iain’s crash and heaving the blood to the hospital was beyond ridiculous.

The distance that is is a “12 minute drive away” being walked by a man who could barely stand, whilst trying to carry what would be a heavy bag, would have taken a rather long time 🤣

He crashed on the way back as had presumably only a small amount of the 12 minute drive left to walk. Also he is a Holby City paramedic so therefore has superpowers.

purpleme12 · 26/12/2024 09:16

😂

I thought he contacted the hospital whilst he was driving and said he was 12 minutes away, and then crashed pretty much straight after?

I may be wrong though.

This was the direct impression I got too.

The trailer for this was misleading? With the hospital bed scene with the paramedic coat, I assumed Iain would end up at deaths door but nope! Also he was absolutely fine??

Totally agree with the PP poster saying the actor who plays Rash should move on.

Anyway new series! So glad, love casualty, tried watching grey’s anatomy to fill the casualty shaped hole in my life… stupid idea!

Peppermintlover · 28/12/2024 20:27

Also I need to raise that when Iain came home on Christmas Day, Faith’s daughter hugged him, big smile etc ZERO awkwardness about the fact she tried to kiss him not so long ago!! I think ‘casualty induced amnesia’ strikes again!!

LIZS · 28/12/2024 22:03

Yes they are back to playing happy families again. When does Faith start her medical training? How did that car end up at 90 degrees to the road through the shopfront?

HobnobsChoice · 28/12/2024 22:21

Why is Purple Nurse back? Didn't she leave? Why is Jodie being an absolute arse to lovely Dylan who is trying to help her (like hell he would do Max a favour out of obligation!)

daffodilandtulip · 28/12/2024 23:12

And why was she back for precisely ten seconds?

She didn't leave - she hooked up with Dylan instead.

purpleme12 · 28/12/2024 23:31

Even when she popped up tonight, she immediately annoyed me

I must just have been hoping she had left. How disappointing. She just moons about all the time.
Will anybody remember Luke's brain cancer or is it now forgotten about and he has no side effects from treatment or anything. Bad memories in that family, Natalya seemed very comfortable around Iain again despite her crush and attempt at kissing him.

purpleme12 · 29/12/2024 00:14

Yeah it's a tad strange the whole Natalya and Ian thing and then it's all hugging and happy 😂
