I'm just halfway through the first episode and was dying to discuss it!

These participants are not what I was expecting at all. They actually sound a lot more interesting than most reality TV fodder.

It's the editing. They spent three weeks in the pod dating.

I would say every American person commenting about LIB UK on Reddit prefer this version to the US one.

Maybe they’ll take note and start casting older people from now on.

I do appreciate that they cast men who are actually wanting to get married, and ready to settle down. The last couple of US seasons have been a bit lacking in those.

Not convinced any of the couples are super right for each other though.
It's like every pair has one who is super high maintenance, and just exhausting to me.

I get the impression that some of the US men and women just want to be on TV, but I don't think any of the UK people are like that.

I suspect that will happen in any subsequent UK series.
For now, I do think all of the participants seem genuine.

The Mexican weddings are out today! I do recommend if you’re up to date on all of the UK episodes.

Yeah the US one started off feeling like it was people up for the experiment but it's definitely changed in some of the later ones.

I was thinking today though, I don't watch other dating shows but do they have the same success rate as this? There are quite a few couples from various seasons who are still together and happily married. And there have been some babies too.

MAFS USA has been quite successful I think but they seemed to have stopped making them.

I think Tom's comments about her being a SAHM in the pods were a total red flag

I've just watched the bit where Cat goes off on one with Freddie for saying he finds another girl attractive, before flirting wildly with Tom of the receding hairline. (I've never seen someone whose hair starts that far back, not even Ant of AntnDec). She's a nightmare and doesn't deserve him.

I’m kind of shocked (I’m not Muslim but have a lot of Muslim friends) at Maria who switching her Islam on and off. To me it’s actually more about culture than Islam. It’s Moroccan culture not Islam where the woman is provided for etc. All my Muslim friends work from Doctors to Teachers to Social Workers, I don’t know one that doesn’t work and they all went back to work after mat leave. They are stricter in their practice (it appears) than Maria.

Also not feeling Jasmine’s or Demi’s dresses!! Jasmine’s just didn’t suit her figure, she would be better to go in at her waist and out (like Sabrina’s) as she’s not hourglass enough. Similar with Demi, accentuate that waist,

I didn't like Tom's table manners

The first US season was good like that but once people realised LIB can make you famous, all sorts of insta famous wannabes started applying and I suspect the same might happen with the UK versions.

Unless they hire people that are really good at vetoing contestants.

Tom is JUST Like Jono from MAFs Australia in his mannerisms and in his voice. The relaxed, sort of sleepy voice

Who does Freddy look like?! It's been bugging me the whole series and I can't work it out - I always think I get close but then it goes at the last minute! X
