I'm just halfway through the first episode and was dying to discuss it!

These participants are not what I was expecting at all. They actually sound a lot more interesting than most reality TV fodder.

Sam gave insane red flags the moment he opened his mouth. I can't believe he got through any screening process the show might have.

There are some quite cute couples - I'm at the point where they are setting up in london.

Yes, I think Freddie is like Tim Vincent too. I've been trying to think who he looks like and that's it. But Freddie is better looking imo.

Just watching ep 8 where couples meet up with the non chosen people.

Tom seems normal. and i am shocked that his fiance thinks he should pay for everything. Ollie seems fairly boring but pleasant.

And freddie is very very attractive.

Tom comes across to me the sort that believes in that type of equality that will have you working all the hours god sends to demonstrate you’re contributing, being solely responsible for the kids as his job is too ‘important and busy’, while scrubbing the house as your hobby and free time.
I don’t believe he’s 50/50 at all.

@Bowup totally agree, he is that type who has his partners falling over themselves to prove they're not a financial burden, while he does fuck all outside of work, other than dropping off his dry cleaning on the way to work, and never including anything his partner might want cleaning.

the Freddie pre-nup question seems perfectly valid. they should all have these in place, if they are older, with houses (a business?), else no one would actually get married after such a short period of time (fine if both young and broke)

And i assume he wants to leave money to his sister, as him and her will be the long term carers for his brother, once his mum passes, so its money to keep his brother's care secured really.

Episode 9 here so won't go into detail but the way Jasmine brushes off her Mum's behaviour (particularly past behaviour) with 'that's just how she is'. WILD.

If she'd come here and shared the same story she'd be told it was controlling, probably abusive and to go NC.

I really read Tom in the pod scene differently, I thought he was saying he’d quite like some time at home when / if they had kids and then Maria back tracked massively on what she was saying.

I think the producers threw Sam in for a bit of drama.

I can’t see Tom’s teeth properly cos of the way he speaks: that bothers me. He also talks while he has food in his mouth.

Watching ep9. Do we really believe that Beniaih was so upset when he went back to Germany after being dumped that he couldn't eat? I feel like they're laying it on thick for the draaaaama.

And Cat's mates are as awful as her. They knew what he did for a living before they asked and just wanted to take the piss.

Sam was so out of line talking about how Nicole had wanted to sleep with him. He really saw that as major point scoring. She was very dignified in how she dealt with it.

As for Jasmine's mother, wow. I'm surprised Jasmine seems normal having grown up with that level of intensity and interfering.

Jasmine is a mental health nurse so has probably done a lot of work on herself, there is an element of acceptance of what her mother is like (for now) her mother being based in the Philippines is helpful on maintaining boundaries.

Jasmine's mum is awful. She wants Jasmine to tell her absolutely everything even down to if they have an argument over something as silly as the dishwasher!

I think she is likely to cause a lot of problems if they do get married.

I don't have the luxury of watching LIB peacefully and can only do it while multitasking so seem to have missed a lot of the stuff mentioned on here 😱

Not if Jasmine sets clear boundaries though. I think she would be able to do that.

The fact her mother was comfortable enough to behave like that tells me Jasmine will have zero chance of enforcing boundaries.
