Is anyone watching?

I'm just halfway through the first episode and was dying to discuss it!

These participants are not what I was expecting at all. They actually sound a lot more interesting than most reality TV fodder.

I agree about the Tom/Maria situations being the most frustrating. I think a lot of it got taken out of context. Yes it’s great to be equals, but when you’re first dating it’s nice for the man to really, really want to pay. You can still end up splitting it, but you want a bit of enthusiasm right? And she said she wanted a few years to be at home with the kids - one or two. I completely respect her wanting to do that, especially if she’s breastfeeding and given birth. It’s much easier for Tom is she does that. Sometimes I think people can be a bit idealistic before they have kids. I can also understand wanting shared parental leave and I’ve seen it work well in some situations, but I also think it’s fair enough if the person who’s gone through pregnancy, labour and birth should get to do it all. I just found him a bit dismissive. It seemed to all stem from him wanting to be around loads for his kids which is nice though. So I guess they are just different. Shame it ended like it did though. I feel like he could’ve spoken up a bit more and been more sensitive in his approach.
