Is anyone watching?

I'm just halfway through the first episode and was dying to discuss it!

These participants are not what I was expecting at all. They actually sound a lot more interesting than most reality TV fodder.

It's legal weddings.

Most of couples who got married in the US versions (six seasons) are still together. If I'm correct, there was only one US season that had divorces.

I don't think the Japanese one was legal weddings at first as they had a follow up and they were asked if they were going to fully go through with it later on as one of the couples I don't think had done that yet.

With the UK one I guess they have time to give notice etc if they did want it to be a legal one but I'm thinking it might go along the same lines as in Japan.

The weddings are brilliant, there are always some surprises of who does and doesn't go through with it.

Also, has anyone noticed that Ben looks like Sam Ryder??

@Monkeysatonthewall, thank you! I was racking my brains trying to think who he reminded me of. Adore Freddie (though the preview seemed to suggest he's not as sweet as he seem, but will see how the episodes pan out), Tom (find his humour great, but have only seen a few instances of it and his voice is fantastic lol). I actually really like Catherine, Ollie, Ollie's lady and the blond lady who likes Tom. Am crap with names.

Loved the swedish and Brazilian versions of LIB. There are 4 series of the Brazilian one! Will have a nosey at the Japanese and Mexican ones too haha.

I know it's terrible, but the "boring brown" eyes commentary on here had me laughing so much I couldn't sleep today (work nights!)

@percypal They’re all on Netflix as they are Netflix productions. I’ve not watched the Japan series, but have enjoyed USA, Mexico,Sweden and Brazil. I’m terrible for skipping through the pods to the moments they first meet each other though, so I do get through quite quickly.

Silly question but are the overseas ones dubbed or with subtitles?

I've watched Japan and I'm halfway through Sweden right now and I've been watching them dubbed into English with English subtitles. There does seem to be the choice of both though. I prefer dubbed because I get distracted while watching things a lot and then realise I've been listening to a language I don't understand. 🙈

I think he would like to think he’s a prize fuck boy. In reality, he’s absolutely cringe worthy and suffering from low self esteem. The bit where he went “I think I love you!” I was practically hiding behind the cushion.

Noo, use the subtitles so you can hear the tone etc of the original conversation. It's much more authentic. You know you're not missing much even if you're distracted- it's all basically the same conversations on repeat 😅

Having watched a few East Asian things lately, I find it amazing how anyone from the West can learn the languages - I personally cannot seem to pick up any sort of pattern or familiarity to any of the words or phrases

100% this. In his dreams is Sam a fuck boy!! He is like a character from a comedy mocumentary like The Office or People just do nothing. Trying SO hard but so spectacularly unaware that he gets it so very wrong while bystanders are cringing themselves inside out!

@Rollergirl11 totally agree re Sam, he does give off a Grinder from PJDN! So deluded.

I also felt like I knew sam- suspect he reminds me of the worst of all the bad guys I’ve met! Red flags everywhere, you just know how it would be like to date him and how it would end.

Honestly I need the dubbing. I'm usually on my phone or laptop at the same time and I have been known to watch a whole Japanese movie and then realise I haven't had a clue what has happened at all. 🙈🤣

I came on here to see what the chat was as I binged last night and today. Now I have 10 other series to watch tonight.....I'm going to start with the US OG series. Can't wait for more UK tomorrow.

I've not seen any of the other versions. Does it turn into MAFS as the seen progresses or are their more people like first dates? How much time do they spend talking to each other in reality? it can't just be a couple of chats then their in love forever.
