I'm just halfway through the first episode and was dying to discuss it!

These participants are not what I was expecting at all. They actually sound a lot more interesting than most reality TV fodder.

I like Steven and Sabrina although I find her slightly smug.

Honestly they're so perfect it's a bit boring 😂. Nice match though, I think they'll make it.

@Monkeysatonthewall not even a bit. She's a smart woman, she knew it wasn't the right thing to do. She's great for him but he hasn't realized yet that she can do way better. If he does then it might work but I have my doubts. He's already improved massively with her influence so who knows?

I don't get Tom's dismissal of her being a make up artist. My make up artist friend earns more than my banker friend 🤷‍♀️

demi was the only one i was surpised by, i had him doing as saying NO.

So outcomes i was 100% right about. But its nice if some clearly want to keep dating (but i only believe Demi/Ollie would - the others will have broken up after that no)

I honestly think they would (if they were serious) tell the other person it will be a no, ahead of time. So the speaches can be positive but not embarassing. Maybe Demi did tell Ollie. He seemed okay about it. thats the only way i can see a future for any couple who said no, if they were not blind sided at the wedding.

Do the guests still get their dinner after??? that would be a weird dinner party!

Demi had massive cry face eyes when she turned up at the hotel, I wasn't shocked as I think the penny had dropped for her. Looks don't matter that much do they. He came with a lot of issues.

I loved Steven and S, there's always a perfectly matched couple ❤️ I think she was just really happy.

Do we think the wedding are legal? I assume so but it's unclear.

Without legal pre-nups anyone older, with assets, would be a fool to marry so quickly. Yet we need older people as they are more committed to the process I think.

And no mention of an update episode next week!

Yes the weddings are legal.
Prenups in England are not really binding, you can do a deed of trust or tenants in common, but it's all out of the window after a few years.

That was Tom's problem, understandably. She wanted to be paid for, looked after etc..he hd a house and pension etc. It's too much to risk.

Demi! That's her name! I couldn't for the life of me remember what she was called. Actually, tbf, I actually forgot about her and Ollie anyway. I had to sadly make a list of the couples cos I couldn't remember them. I got to 5 couples and knew there was a 6th but couldn't remember who on earth, until I saw the "recap" bit of Ollie at the end of the last ep, and still couldn't remember Demi's name when they showed her. I thought my memory for names and faces would get better by the end of the last ep. Nope.
I don't think I'm surprised by any of the outcomes, really. Thought it was a shame for Freddie, but Cat definitely wasn't right for him. But I do think it's a shame that he wasn't paired with someone else with a different outcome. I think it's that he seemed to be the most genuine and nice.

@umberelladay A silver surfers series would be fab! I'd definitely watch that.

I felt sorry for Cat, even though I hadn't warmed to her previously.

I do think a show like this wasn't a good idea for someone with such a deep primal attachment wound. The rejection at the altar - no matter how well-handled by Freddie - would have felt devastating with her history.

I wanted a reunion straight away too. I hate having to wait. A week between blocks of episodes is bad enough. 😁

Spoilers from me from now on.

I knew Demi was going to say no. There was just a look on her face before she even went down the aisle and I knew she had decided then. And Freddie had done the same, he barely looked at Cat walking down the aisle and when he did it wasn't with the big grins of the others when they saw their brides. With Tom and Maria, I think he knew before he even had that little chat with Maria's mum, I spent their whole chat thinking "he's going to say no and this feels awkward now".

Jasmine's mum looked so beautiful although did anyone else think her dress looked a little bridal (even though it wasn't white). I'm glad she seemed accepting of Bobby at the end.

I didn't think we'd get as many as 3 marriages by the end though so I was pleasantly surprised. If you'd asked me to pick 3 couples who would have said yes it would have been those 3, I just thought there may have been cold feet somewhere.

Benaiah's surname was amazing too.

I thought this too! I know a make-up artist that works in theatre, film & TV and is doing very very well for herself. She's forever being flown off to exotic locations for months at a time too.

Spoilers from here on;

• I wasn't surprised by any of the outcomes really, although I'd thought Beniah might have had a last minute change of heart what with being second choice.
• Jasmine's Mum was very extra in that choice of dress. IMO full length should be bride and bridesmaids only, unless the whole wedding is black tie.
• I am glad Jasmine didn't let her Mum talk her out of it and I hope they work out.
• I welled up a bit at Freddie and Cat. He is SUCH a catch for some lucky lady who wants to stay home watching TV and not being bouji (if only I were 10 years younger and single!) but I don't think that lady is her. I did feel very sorry for her though.
• Her friend Tally wears a very strong eyebrow! I couldn't tear my eyes away from them.

Everyone says Freddie is so amazing but I'm not buying it. Could be editing. Do amazing people cheat? I mean maybe he changed and all is well but I don't know.

I think Demi and Ollie have continued dating and are still together. Guess we'll find out next week 😮

God yes, jasmine's mum...it was a dress to eclipse the bride...who does that to their own daughter???
She is a sea of red flags and a lifetime of pain. I'm of her age...just back off and let them live in the moment.

Hugely embarrassing for her. Sadly she will fuck with their marriage 😢 Couldn't manage her own...she will meddle with theirs. (has already done)

The only outcome that was a surprise to me was Beniah and Nicole. They just don't seem suited at all. I can't see that pairing lasting but who knows?

It was obvious Demi would say no (can't blame her) and the guy engaged to Maria (I can't remember his name). She clearly wants a more 'traditional' set up while he wants her to bring 50/50 to the table (and maybe look after the home and kids too?)

Freddie and Catherine both dodged a bullet.

Is the reunion definitely next week?

The look on Ollie's face when Demi said no was amazing. He was so shocked.

@Monkeysatonthewall To be honest I'd forgotten that about Freddie, but if he was young and it really was a one-off that he came to regret then maybe. I think he shows a lot of emotional intelligence (and sense) at least compared to a lot of real world 32 year old Men I met when I was that age!

I'm caught up. Did anyone else find Catherine's relationship her parents rather strained and odd? I'm aware that she's adopted and there may be more to her story than we know , but they seem to really adore her. Doesn't she still live with them too? She came off as rude and ungrateful at points , like a stroppy teenager rather than a grown woman.

The thing about Freddie and the prenup and wanting his house to go to his sister. Apart from it generally being sensible to consider how it might affect your assets if you choose to marry someone you haven't known long...

Freddie has grown up all his life with an older sibling with significant disabilities. His Mum isn't getting any younger (not sure his Dad was mentioned?) and - given they are clearly a close and loving family - Freddie and his sister must have considered that they may need to provide some form of caretaking for their brother in the future (whether financial or hands on).

I can therefore absolutely understand Freddie really thinking that through and wanting to be careful, this isn't a hypothetical situation for him, there is already someone in his family who might really need his support at some point in the future.

Yes, and that's how she treated Freddie at times, too. The way she sniped at him when they were shopping etc.

I think she (very understandably) has sensitivities around close attachments. Her parents said they adopted her at 11 weeks old and she said later in the show that her biological mother basically rejected her. That kind of trauma is long-lasting, doesn't matter if it happens when you are pre-verbal.

I really felt for Catherine, but I also found her behaviour to Freddie and her parents cold and unacceptable.

@takeyourluckwhereyoufindit I completely agree. I have an adult sibling with additional needs and the rest of us siblings have discussed and planned for what they will need when our parents are sadly no longer around. Freddie and his sister are clearly good people that are taking responsibility for their brother's future.

Is there definitely a reunion- I hope so.

I am surprised also that she went in the show due to her issues with rejection which are of course understandable. I do think Freddie was right though, he doesn’t drink, just goes to the gym and likes to stay at home, I think Cat would find this boring. I think she has some growing up to do, she behaves like a gorgeous princess who is used to being adored and always getting her own way. I think she needs to learn to value herself rather than material things. She’s been through a lot and I think she might need time to work through that. However, if they do live together she might find Freddie’s way of life may actually suit her.
