Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can also read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

Oh dear - Jumpers sons are just awful!

when the youngest was talking to Honey about the reason they moved "new school" - so painful

Southeastdweller · 22/08/2024 09:10

In today’s episode, Jumpers insisted on Gray putting £30K of the house sale money into a trust for Jordan but surely Chelsea would be entitled to a share of the house? The writers never do their homework about money and legal issues.

They were married, so should be entitled to something

Just catching up on the thread!
@boringingoring regarding living arrangements, I think Priya is on the sofa in the flat they all share.
@Rory17384949 Cindy certainly wants to eat her cake and have it! I hope she gets ‘cheated on’ (if you could describe it as such) by Junior to have a taste of her own medicine.
@Anyonecanfallinlove that is an interesting description of Reiss’ character by the actor who plays him. But I just don’t buy that he’s a good person who makes bad decisions. From how he’s been portrayed since his arrival, he is a fundamentally dishonest person who will lie as far as it furthers his interests, while making out that honesty and integrity are important to him and not tolerating anybody else being dishonest (for example Keanu). I see him as a hypocrite with a self delusion of being ‘a good person’. Pretty well suited to Sonia actually. Maybe some jail time will help her reflect and learn lessons.
@70isaLimitNotaTarget I agree, I don’t think jumpers is into modern slavery, I think he just meant he liked people to owe him favours. But who knows? I suspect he is involved in organised crime. (Although since a lot of organised crime involves people trafficking and modern slavery, maybe he is!) I’m sure his dad Stevie is aware since when they first came on the square, it seemed like he’s run away and they were looking for him.
Speaking of organised crime, I wonder about the criminal element of the Panesar’s business empire and how Nish’s impending death will affect all that and if Vinny will take on the mantle like he is desperate to. Will we see some kind of clash with jumpers and co?

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2024 11:05

I bet that Nish is given a new heart and carries on!

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2024 11:57

Maybe Chelsea wasn't on the deeds or paid the mortgage, so not entitled to anything ?
( I've no idea though )

milesmachine · 22/08/2024 12:40

I remember Jonny saying to Chelsea that she was entitled to something from the house sale (whether she was on the deeds or not I think is irrelevant as they were married but not sure?) and Chelsea sort of wafted it away as 'too difficult'.

Honestly so ridiculous (along with how quick it's all gone through!)

Shellingbynight · 22/08/2024 12:55

The house was Gray's, and they had a short marriage - only weeks, so I guess she would not be entitled to a share of it. I think(?) they did mention it after Gray was jailed, when Chelsea was wondering if she could stay there.

It does look as if Teddy is being lined up as the next villain, after drawing everyone into his web.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/08/2024 13:07

I would’ve thought Chelsea would be entitled to housing as she has Grays child who is a toddler. But that wouldn’t necessarily be in that house.

Even though it’s a very nice house the memory of Chantelle’s death and Tina’s death would make me uneasy living there .
Mac and Mia would have a share too though they’re in Spain now I think.

I’m surprised Chelsea didn’t take Johnny Sausage up on his advice to look at the letter.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/08/2024 13:10

Gray won’t be paying child maintenance from prison so maybe the sale of the house would give a lump sum to his DC .

For all his (many) faults , I cannot see him depriving his DC

MichaelAndEagle · 22/08/2024 13:13

Will got all 8s and 9s in his GCSEs and he's going to college to do health and social care.....
Wouldn't they at least have him doing a levels? Those grades are exceptional surely?!

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2024 13:53

It can't be too difficult these days for writers to look up things regarding the law , but they often just put their own spin on it instead ( I know it's not real life and they need plot lines, but some things should be a tad realistic )
Also they always do their lawyer consultations in the cafe or the pub too ! Most lawyers make you go to them , but they rarely do on EE. It's always in a busy place with everyone else listening in

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2024 13:54

I did wonder if Reiss would fess up today .. fat chance.

Anyonecanfallinlove · 22/08/2024 14:26

Jumpers has run away from something/someone. Seriously dodgy people don't tend to do that, they usually have people running from them

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2024 14:29

I missed what Barney said about his school ?

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2024 14:30

Whoever they are running from , Harry went back and was beaten up for his trouble , so whoever it is will probably rock up eventually !
The layout of Grays house looked a bit different today I thought ?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/08/2024 14:31

EastEnders has always had a very relaxed relationship with Real Life and Truth.

People never look outside he square for their next love interest . I look in my street (40 houses) and I honestly wouldn’t go for anyone who lives there.
They walk through their perfectly adequate kitchens and functional kettles to pay money for a stewed cup of tea
The pub does after hours and on the house - real pubs don’t
No one goes out of the square to work
no one goes to the supermarket or have delivery ( there’s always Sainsbury’s/tesco/Asda vans in our road)
People just move in with their neighbours
an go on holiday with them
any events like wedding Christmas, funeral, Halloween guy fawkes, new year everyone is invited and involved.

it’s like a creepy little horror film where everyone is linked and you cannot escape but instead of the newcomer being murdered they end up sleeping with half the square and buy a house. And of course their DC get into school , no issues.
no parking issues even though they’re only metres from a station

and they buy rubbish clothes from the market , wash in the laundrette but don’t end up with a rag that you’d wipe the doorstep with

So yes, lawyers , nurses and accountants giving free advice in the cafe seems entirely feasible 😂

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2024 14:37

70s, agree with all you've written ! It is a very secular world and they rarely go outside it
especially for work which is always available on the square. London has so much potential for work and the tube is round the corner ( as you said !) yet apart from a few occasions, most characters do not commute. Or if they do ( Lauren and Bradley spring to mind , but I'm sure there have been others) it isn't for long.
They have parties and invite everyone , even people who were once their arch enemies in the past.

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2024 14:44

Bex was mentioned today by Martin , so wondering if she'll return to the square now mum is banged up for murder !

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/08/2024 14:46

What has Bex been doing with herself in the time she’s been away

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2024 14:50

She is living somewhere exotic as I do remember Sonia suggesting to Reiss they go and visit her not long after they got together
Not sure why they didn't go, but I feel she mentioned somewhere in the far east ?
(Although I'm usually wrong and might have been Brighton or Milton Keynes)

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2024 14:52

Bex's wiki only mentions her going 'traveling 'after Uni.

Southeastdweller · 22/08/2024 14:56

God no, I couldn’t bear Bex returning to the show unless she has a personality transplant. She must have been the most miserable teenager in the history of EE though hardly surprising with Sonia as a mother!

I haven’t seen any spoilers but someone up thread mentioned about Chrissie Watts coming back .

If she is Jumpers ex that would be perfect .
Chrissie /Den were married , she went to prison for his murder
Sharon/Jumpers had a brief thing going on
Kate ( Phil’s ex wife/Chrissies ex business partner/ had a fling with Den . Chrissie famously butchered her hair as she idly asked about her fancy man)
Chrissie was with Jake Moon , Alfie’s cousin .
Alfie /Kat : Kat/Phil

So much potential leverage for Jumpers if Chrissie is his ex
She’ll walk into number 1 and say “well this is nice Teddy but that awful wallpaper needs to go. Which is my room then “

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2024 15:03

Hopefully Chrissie Watts / Mitchell ? ( if they got married ) will tell jumpers that he needs to take his jumpers off as that look round the shoulders went out long ago!
I can't see that it's her tbh , but rumours abound on Facebook and they have the 40th anniversary next Feb and a few old faces may rock up.
