Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can also read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

@BrownBirdWelcomesWhiteWave

This is the spoiler I've read

In the upcoming EastEndersrs*_ episodes, newcomer Teddy is throwing a housewarming party in hopes to win over his neighbours. Teddy manages to charm both Kim Fox, played by Tameka Empson, and the flats former resident Chelsea, portrayed by Zaraah Abrahams, into joining his celebration.
However, the get-together takes an unexpected turn when Teddy reveals a surprise clause he insisted on including in the contract for Gray's property, catching Chelsea off-guard.

It may be unrelated to Chelsea but seems to impact her in some way

the80sweregreat · 21/08/2024 18:44

I did read that Chelsea and Teddy have an affair , but again, it might be Facebook gossip!

BingoNight · 21/08/2024 18:55

When Phil asked Jumpers why he's taken over Reiss's debt, Jumpers said he likes 'to invest in people'.
Could that mean modern slavery? 🤔

SagaNorensPorche · 21/08/2024 19:42

The phone location as an alibi is so stupid. A perp could easily leave their phone somewhere, do a murder then go back for it. Also Reiss suggested it. Quite nice seeing smug Sonia rattled though.

milesmachine · 21/08/2024 19:45

@SagaNorensPorche I agree about snug Sonia! So nice to see the smile wiped off her face!

I read an interview with Natalie Cassidy where she says Sonia finds her anger about it all eventually but I think the writers have misjudged how fed up viewers are with Sonia herself and don't really see her as the 'victim' they want

And I agree about the phone thing. As poster said upthread, why can't they check Sonia's phone too? And surely the nurse who saw her leave and then did rounds would have seen Debbie alive after the visit

Madness as always

the80sweregreat · 21/08/2024 19:53

Modern slavery ! That's not been done before.
I don't want jumpers to be really bad , but he probably is

It's ridiculous. I wonder if the woman interviewing Reiss has planned it, maybe she knew the alibi was a red flag. She also had the conversation, where she lied about Sonia not asking about him. It does seem a bit set up

It's been badly misjudged, does anyone want Sonia to find her anger?
It's surprising Natalie didn't question this portrayal as she's played Sonia for so long, you'd think she'd be really in touch with how the viewers would view it etc. Maybe it's in the edit, especially with the plot holes

Noooo I want jumpers to be the lovable rogue not dark and evil. I want him mischievous and on a fine line between right and wrong but not sinister

SagaNorensPorche · 21/08/2024 20:09

@milesmachine Sonia is a great character and Natalie Cassidy always comes across well so I hope it all ends ok for her. I suspect the police are onto Reiss anyway - they've got their best people on it, i.e. not Jack and Callum 😆

@the80sweregreat that would be a great storyline. Though I'm hoping Jumpers will be a a bit of a lovable rogue as I quite like him.

the80sweregreat · 21/08/2024 20:10

Sonia has always been a complex character
She messed Martin about , came out as Bi and then had the fight to get Bex back. She has committed fraud on a few occasions and definitely not trust worthy.
I do feel sorry for her, but she did take a woman's money for IVF who was in a coma but quick to judge everyone else !

the80sweregreat · 21/08/2024 20:12

Please writers, make Teddy a nice villain
He reminds me of a young Phil Collins looks wise and I like him a lot

SagaNorensPorche · 21/08/2024 20:13

@Anyonecanfallinlove we are definitely thinking the same on Jumpers! 😆

SagaNorensPorche · 21/08/2024 20:16

Jumpers also reminds me of a young Ryan Giggs. I can definitely see Phil Collins too 😆

the80sweregreat · 21/08/2024 20:19

I really didn't like Teddy early doors, but I'm obsessed now with his small arm pink jumpers and he looked gorgeous in his leather jacket the other week ..
I hope he is the loveable villain , although money lenders are usually horrible
Maybe a woman will sort him out and put him straight !

Southeastdweller · 21/08/2024 20:33

Natalie Cassidy seems to be under the impression we’re rooting for Sonia, but nope. Her character is horrible - stealing from your own grandmother! Never mind her other nefarious deeds.

the80sweregreat · 21/08/2024 20:35

I've never liked Sonia much tbf
I feel sorry she is being accused of murder , but not enough to really care about it!

Anyonecanfallinlove · 21/08/2024 20:56

Sonia has just been so unlikeable recently. She doesn't deserve prison but we all saw it coming so it's hard to feel sorry for her. We know she's coming back so it'll sort itself out eventually.
It took me a while to warm to jumpers, his dress sense tells me he isn't someone sinister. Maybe he means he invests in people that can help him i.e an accountant to fiddle the books and not investing to exploit. Wishful thinking maybe but we need a lovable rogue, there's not been one for ages. It's been all doom and gloom, murderers and sexual predators etc, we need something a little lighter. Maybe a few one liners from kim aswell.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/08/2024 22:44

Mmmm investing in people could be more like helping them out to call in favours.
He put a wedge of money over the bar at the Vic , so lots of the punters would be thinking “oh he stands a round or two , not a bad bloke”.

His oldest son is a mechanic so he might get him to help someone out with a motor and they’ll be indebted .

Or yes, he could’ve bought Grays house purely because it has a basement and he can keep prisoners .

Anyonecanfallinlove · 21/08/2024 22:57

Talking of basements, isn't Ravi's place in a basement? So who does he live under?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/08/2024 00:33

WalfordTowers - is that still there
Pete Beale , Kathy and Ian were in those flats in the beginning but no one mentions the towers now

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/08/2024 00:38

I remembered there were flats , small block only a couple of stories high . Joe Wickes and Lorraine his mum lived there.
Looked on the wiki page that’s now the Panesaar Family Doctor Surgery

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2024 06:14

Didn't Karen Taylor come from those flats?
They were going to be pulled down and she ended up on the square

Shellingbynight · 22/08/2024 08:33

Didn't the family with Joe Swash - the Millers - live in a tower block?

@BingoNight They did a modern slavery storyline on The Archers about five years ago (the last good storyline they did). The guy who now plays Todd in Corrie was one of the perps (brilliant in both).

I don’t think Teddy is a nice villain. Nice villains don’t have cash sloshing around to hand to Phil and then buy a house in London. They have fancied him up with the pink cardigans 'ironically'.

So Reiss didn’t throw Sonia under the bus (yet), he made sure he wasn’t charged and thought she wouldn’t be either. I agree that the fact the phone was in the bar was irrelevant. If you’re going to commit a murder you don’t take your phone with you with location services switched on. I had forgotten, but the care home didn't know he went in, he sneaked in didn’t he? So the only person known to be there is Sonia. I didn’t understand why asked her for an alibi later in the day, given they knew exactly when she went in.

I think Reiss will assume she won’t be charged because he knows HE did it! But he’ll let her moulder in custody nevertheless. I do not feel sorry for her. I liked her brief though - Richie's protegee!

(I agree I’d love Reiss to transform with a change of clothes/hair/glasses!)
