I really am so bored of this storyline. Give me more of the Tommy plot please

I like the Reiss storyline in that it's been a bit of a slow burn - for ages he was just this weird annoying bloke with supposed comedy value but now it turns out he was demented all along. Brilliant acting really because I can feel myself hating him. The rl actor is going to have to put himself into police protection when it's all over.

I hope it comes out about Reiss stealing Debbie’s engagement ring from the mortuary.

I agree it has been well done in that it's been slow burn, and I think the actor is really good.

Initially I thought he was stealing Debbie's ring to sell. But then I realised he's going to give it to Sonia. Eurgghhhh....

The crying is what my gran would have called 'crocodile tears'.

Tommy is turning into a psychopath too, the square seems to breed them.

No, surely not! Better to sell it and buy Sonia a different ring.

This is Reiss we're talking about! I wonder if she will wear it and Debbie's parents will see it...

Enjoyable episode today. Brenda (Debbie’s mother) is onto Reiss.

She is! Reiss’s character is very interesting, I think he is a covert narcissist. I know the term narcissist is bandied around a lot but it certainly fits his character and it’s a good contrast with the other narcissist on the show, Nish! It’s interesting that they’re focusing on both their storylines at the same time. And of course Tommy who is still a child but is also on the path to becoming a narcissist (of the Nish variety) with his personality and life circumstances.

Also when you read about narcissistic abuse, you see how it fits with how Sonia has gradually been worn down. Reiss has always been subtly controlling and manipulative since he was introduced and I feel like even the way Sonia dresses has changed? She’s never had the best fashion sense but I don’t remember her always being this frumpy?

Reiss is the most unlikely killer though.
( despite everyone knowing he was baddie from the start , on here anyway ! 😂)

😂 I did think of this thread when Debbie’s mum was talking to Reiss!

I hope we are going to get some background on why Debbie was with Reiss. He was seriously punching above his weight in terms of looks and he hasn't exactly got a sparkling personality.

I don't think Reiss has worn Sonia down though. She is a strong opinionated character and it was her pushing for IVF which sparked the whole money debacle. I think she is so obsessed with having a baby, she will forgive anything. When he said he had stolen from Phil she practically just rolled her eyes and said never mind. I don't think she is being worn down or coerced at all, she just has her own reasons for being happy to overlook Reiss's criminality time and again.

I'd be terrified if my partner told me he owed Phil Mitchell money! Phil was scammed by Alfie and it was only Kat who talked him round about letting that go , twice , the robbery money that time and the dodgy Capri scam he sold him one Christmas , then took off. Alfie still owes you him thousands , yet they are now friends!
Sonia isn't a patch on Kat and doesn't even have any of his children as any kind of leverage ( as Denise would or Kathy etc)

Saint Sonia has few redeeming qualities. She stole money from Dot and happily used Debbie’s care money to fund her IVF.

Sonia also ripped off the weight watchers as well, She is as devious as Reiss ( but not a murderer) ..

Debbie's parents overhearing Sharon and Teddy ( no jumper today ) was a plot with a few holes in it. The cafe looks the kind of place they'd avoid tbh and Sharon's little speech about Reiss was very contrived. Plus hadn't they already had some tea at Sonia's ?

I haven't seen today's episode yet but Teddy was Jumperless yesterday too!

I think half the Square has stolen money from Phil haven't they? He does seem particularly irked with Reiss though (understandably).

Yes, I noticed Teddy didn't have his jumper round his shoulders yesterday either but I did like his leather ( pleather?) jacket !
Maybe they have realized it's not a good look

I liked it in today’s episode when Brenda told him people thought Debbie had married her granddad. I think it was that or something similar. It’s gratifying when characters in a TV show say something the audience have been thinking for a while!

Debbie's mum has the ' spoilers ' group behind her ..!!

I think what Debbie’s mum said was that people thought Debbie had married her dad (i.e. Debbie’s dad and Brenda’s husband), not her granddad, because her dad is also a bit socially awkward or maybe neurodivergent (like the scene where he and Reiss were talking specifics about motorways over tea) but that she could see through him because unlike Debbie’s dad who seems lovely and caring, Reiss is deceitful and manipulative and only ever acts in self serving ways.

I agree that Sonia definitely has her flaws and I know she is desperate to have a baby but I believe she has been manipulated by Reiss all through - into the relationship, into him moving in and so on. She was in a vulnerable place after Dot died and her defences were a bit lower. We have seen him be quite nasty before, like when he was jealous of the lodger and of Zack. Also the way he treated Bianca and the lengths he goes to cover his tracks. He is never honest with Sonia so she hasn’t made informed choices about anything in their relationship and so she essentially goes along with what he’s deceived her into doing and rationalises it afterwards.

I do think Reiss will try to make Sonia take the fall for Debbie’s murder but Brenda has got the measure of him.

Oh my god, so do I!! But I’m only 43 so was literally 4 when he was born! 🤯

I like Brenda - she speaks for all of us! I liked what she said about seeing ‘only dark corners’ in Reiss.

Yes I could see Debbie’s dad was similar in one aspect. I wonder if it was true that Debbie was fed up with Reiss and on the verge of leaving him. I think it probably was. The next logical step is that Brenda is Reiss's next victim, but I am not sure he is organised enough for that.

I agree Reiss is never honest with Sonia, he has lied constantly. And she has a bit of a row with him about it, then lets it go, because she is not really that bothered about him lying because so far it has all been to her benefit - she got the baby she wants. The actress is playing it well - particularly when Sonia sits next to Reiss wearing that pious face - she is so slappable!

Tommy thinks he's going to run rings round Alfie. I wonder if he will.

If Tommy turns into Damian from The Omen , I genuinely hope that someone manages to stop it in its tracks before he hurts the twins or Alfie.
He is clearly up to something though
