Amandaland to replace motherland!

Just found out that a spinoff to motherland is in the works. I'm sooo excited! One of my favourite shows ever. It's going to be based around Amanda's character, following her life after divorce.

She was also in Vexed series 1, but I never see that mentioned much. It also starred Toby Stephens.

It's interesting that she's been knocked down a peg as well but shades of Hyacinth Bouquet with how she refers to things and a way of only seeing what she wants to.

I quite like this, found Motherland very overhyped and unfunny and not a fan of Anna Maxwell Martin so that probably didn't help.

This is okay though. And Joanna Lumley is just fab!

I do like it to a point. But I find Amanda so exhaustingly awful that I find it quite hard to watch. I just want her to get her just desserts and someone to tell her to fuck right off.
I like the relationship between Mal and the step dad, and Joanna Lumley (though basically playing a less, alcoholic, less chaotic Patsy) is fun.
Amanda reminds me of Katy Hopkins - ie is wholly unlikable yet thinks she's special.
