Welcome to the EE spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can also read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

The scenes are getting ridiculous Mo went and sold a car and back. Teddy went to get rock and back, the other week Callum went to work and was back In the Vic to finish his pint ! All in 1 scene not even an episode.

the80sweregreat · 11/07/2024 09:26

It is sloppy writing
I can just about swallow that Mo knows a dodgy car dealer with 40 k in fresh notes , but surely it would take a day at least to sort out ?
What about the paperwork etc? I know they will fake it, but it did happen so fast.
The police don't come out for a stolen car either
Reiss is just annoying me and agree his bad news all round. With everything
I Hope Sharon / Phil discover his scams with the ' books' for the gym and he ends up leaving.

Southeastdweller · 11/07/2024 14:05

I didn't understand why all those companies would pay Sharon so quickly (in the episode that was dropped this morning on iPlayer).

It's also sloppy writing in the case of Sharon letting him do her accounts when she and the rest of the square know he was stealing his wife's money for the IVF treatment.

I actually enjoyed those two episodes. I liked that Bobby was upset that he was about to be older than Lucy ever was. It is something Bobby would think of (but you wouldn’t expect writers to).

It looked like Reiss had a few £k in his account from his new scam but nowhere near £18k? So he’s scamming her suppliers rather than Sharon, which I suppose is (?) morally a slight improvement. I really doubt any supplier would immediately transfer the money, never going to happen.

(He can’t leave yet, he’s got to kill Sleeping Beauty and leave Sonia sobbing in the street as he is dragged away by the police!)

I really liked the scenes with Phil. He is so alone - entirely his own fault. I like Teddy Jumpers a bit better now, but he’s still a bit smarmy. Is he really this disinterestedly kind and generous? Seems unlikely on EE!

I thought Stevie was a bit of a wasted opportunity, he could have been a good regular character.

As for the Range Rover scam. Yeh as likely as the Canvey Island candy floss.

milesmachine · 11/07/2024 21:20

I agree @Shellingbynight I also enjoyed the last couple of episodes and thought Steve McFadden did a great job as angry Phil spilling over with his emotions

Whenever actors get interviewed from EE they always say how wonderful and generous SMF is which is so different from his character

So I've just worked out if Reiss owes £18k and is 3 months behind, it must cost £6k a month in care home fees. WHERE HAS THIS MONEY BEEN COMING FROM? WHERE DOES HE PLAN TO GET THIS MONEY FROM GOKNG FORWARDS?

I don't think Debbie's accounts had more than £50k in them so he can't have been using them to pay for it.

So many questions as always...

the80sweregreat · 12/07/2024 11:43

The Reiss storyline is bonkers and annoying.
Agree that Phil is playing a blinder. He does bring a lot of it on himself though. He Was horrible to Tommy and Raymond.
Teddy jumpers is an enigma as he isn't the usual gangster sort but clearly has history.
I think him and Sharon might be a good double act and I doubt it'll be too long before Albie has a new 'step dad. ' she is trying to resist pulling his jumper off him , but we know it's probably only a matter of time.

Shellingbynight · 12/07/2024 13:08

Can you imagine Phil's meltdown if Jumpers gets with Sharon? I suspect that is why he is interested in her, to get one over on Phil.

In Teddy's first scene he was in the car and the hospital rang to tell him about Stevie, he said something like "I know where he is and he ain't going to get away from me that easy", he was quite different from the image he has been projecting since then.

the80sweregreat · 12/07/2024 15:54

Oh they have definitely changed Teddy jumpers character to suit the narrative of ' tough but fair chancer ' type that one doesn't often come across in real life! ( or I haven't anyway !)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/07/2024 17:15

Teddy was wearing a rather jazzy yellow shirt the other day .
With his vibrant tops and his snazzy belts he's like Howard from BBT

Maybe the Jumper Round The Shoulders is the E20 turtleneck?

Love it how Elaine just took a large wedge of notes from Teddy without counting them (though she did shuffle them a bit maybe surrepticiously counting Grin ) before shoving the money in her bra .

the80sweregreat · 12/07/2024 17:21

I love how the women put the money into their bras and the men inside their jackets and none of it falls out.

Shellingbynight · 12/07/2024 18:31

I loved the money down the bra, I have never seen anyone do that in real life but it is very Elaine!

Ian's Secret - has anyone got an ideas about that?

Doingtheboxerbeat · 12/07/2024 18:51

I spent 10 years not watching EE and somehow got sucked back into it by the murder 6 at Christmas.
I think the storylines are utterly preposterous at the best of times but friends and family sending Whitney off on a bus instead of a lift/taxi/Uber with a newborn and vulnerable teenager to start a new life, ended it for me.

They may as well have a fire breathing dragon flying through the square for how realistic it is at this point.

Eastie77Returns · 12/07/2024 19:28

The idea that a traditional East End faaaamily would have let Billy go into care (whilst keeping his older brother in the family!) is absolute nonsense and doesn’t ring true at all. The Mitchell’s are a large clan, it’s inconceivable they would have let ‘the Social’ take one of their own.

Shellingbynight · 12/07/2024 19:54

Yes I thought his mother's suicide followed by him 'looking too much like her' was a weak resolution. Billy's rejection aged 9 was always going to be hard to storyline, they left themselves a problem there - all in the rush to bring in Jumpers.

Whitney wanted to go on the bus.

Southeastdweller · 12/07/2024 20:05

My guess about Ian is that he’s helping Jane for some reason. We know Bobby is leaving soon so maybe she’s part of his exit story. We find out in Tuesday’s episode.

OP posts:
Mrsjayy · 12/07/2024 20:17

Yes I think it's Jane too there Is digital spy spoiler photos but stops short of showing what's going on. Jane adopted Bobby so she's his mum he might just go away with her maybe to look after her ?

the80sweregreat · 12/07/2024 20:36

Yes, it was a ludicrous way of bringing jumpers and the other two Mitchell's into the show , but seems they might hang around
I think the bookish one might be interesting, but the tall lanky one will annoy me as he looks a bit of an idiot.

Meredusoleil · 12/07/2024 20:39

I've read online a possible fan theory that rather than Jane who Ian has been speaking to, it's actually Cindy Jr!

Doingtheboxerbeat · 12/07/2024 21:12

usernother · 12/07/2024 19:56

Whitney wanted to go on the bus.

🤭 But you understand how utterly unhinged that would be in reality ? I would imagine that scenario if she was doing a midnight flit, but not after a nice send off - complete madness .

Southeastdweller · 12/07/2024 21:14

Jane adopted Bobby so she's his mum he might just go away with her maybe to look after her ?

Yes I think so. Also, Jane coming back means dramatic scenes with her and Cindy - the first time Cindy meets the woman who covered up the killing of Lucy.

OP posts:
Shellingbynight · 12/07/2024 21:40

@Southeastdweller that is a good point about Jane and Cindy meeting, I wouldn't mind seeing that. Would Ian really be this dense? Yes he probably would! Is Bobby leaving in the next couple of weeks, I didn't realise it was that soon.

@Doingtheboxerbeat The entire Whitney exit was ridiculous, her leaving on a bus was the least of it. I'm not sure anyone watches EE for realism, see also Reiss paying £6k a month for Debbie's fees.

the80sweregreat · 13/07/2024 09:04

Did Jane leave in a wheelchair ?
Or have I made that up ?
I know it was the worst exit ever for such a big character but I can't remember why she left.
Something on Facebook showing Bobby in a cemetery looking upset , but the link didn't open up that well
I know his leaving , so not sure if it's Jane related or not.

I think I remember Jane leaving in the back of a cab, like most EE characters do!

I am assuming the cemetery is where Lucy's grave must be?
