Welcome to the EE spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can also read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

Yes the resemblance to Louie Spence is uncanny! Louie aside, I thought he was making some quite odd choices with his facial expressions. I suppose he gives Phil a new 'enemy'. Phil can hardly go around thumping Stevie, and Keanu's dead and Nish is dying.

I like Barney being quiet and bookish and wanting to avoid family drama. Normally they breed them to come out fists flying.

Would Penny really take a random back to shag? I suppose we do know her judgment is questionable, what with the drug muling.

@70isaLimitNotaTarget I agree with all you've said. We've already got the annoyance of Junior, and now some more have arrived. Re Nugget, doesn't he have some kind of reaction to the steroids?

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2024 07:39

So , it's Teddy , Barney and Henry Mitchell
Who are all related to Stevie , Billy , Phil by a new branch of the very big familyyy tree.

Emma Barton did a Mitchell family tree on FB the other day its has many branches 😂

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2024 09:20

Tbf , east end families can be huge. My late fil was one of 12 or something and my dh has relatives spread around the world! Many we've never met. It's just always ' the Mitchell's' on EE , although I can remember a time most people were related to Pat butcher, but I'm sure they are intertwined somewhere.
I think that the pink jumper one might be interesting and Barney if they can do an autism storyline correctly and not turn him into Reiss mark two. I've not got my head around who they are yet though and need to concentrate more ! 😂

Mrsjayy · 28/06/2024 09:24

I suppose you are right, it used to be the Beales/fowlers but there isn't many of them now

My mum is 1 of 9 so my family is huge we are up to 3rd once removed cousins 😀

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2024 09:31

I also have many cousins ( and the !removed ones' ) as my own late parents were one of five ..
.. which for the 1920s was seen as a small family I suppose! lol

Mrsjayy · 28/06/2024 09:35

My cousins kids now have their own kids and one of my older cousins is a great grandparent that blew my mind !

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2024 09:41

If people have children quite young , then the great grandparents can be a thing !
In the 60s people tended to get married in their teens too and have children much younger than they do now

Shellingbynight · 28/06/2024 09:59

My gran was 18 when she had my mother. My gran died when I was in my 50s and I had a great grandmother until was in my mid 20s.

I am wondering if Barney is a 'replacement' for Bobby, who we know is leaving. Another nice quiet, slightly awkward, lad (hopefully not an accidental killer 😄)
Which will hopefully be more interesting than yet another leery shagger like his brother.

The pink jumper was odd, but I suppose it is to indicate he's not your usual fists flying Mitchell (?). Can't see Phil in a pink jumper 😄

Mrsjayy · 28/06/2024 10:04

My mum had me at 19 .her eldest grandchild is 32 I also had mine young although not a teenager!

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2024 10:46

Phil in a pink jumper ! lol
I'd love to see it though .. goes well with a baseball bat

EE often does new stories soaps haven't done before, so I'm going with Barney being autistic - I'm pretty sure there hasn't previously been a character in EE with autism.

Karen's twins (Riley & Chatham?) were autistic weren't they? They were packed off to live with their Dad and hardly ever seen again. Then Karen seemingly forgot they existed and buggered off to live in Spain.

Meredusoleil · 28/06/2024 16:05

And isn't Ollie supposed to have autism/be on the autistic spectrum? Or have I remembered that wrong?

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2024 16:12

Ollie Carter does have autism.
However, it's been forgotten about , we haven't seen him in simply ages and Linda is usually too drunk to notice he isn't around much.
Plus an older one with autism might provide more stories maybe ?..
Riley and Chatham were in it once or twice, but they never had any kind of storyline. Not that I recall anyway.

Shellingbynight · 28/06/2024 16:30

Yes of course, rarely-seen Ollie, and Riley and Chatham, are/were autistic. They do have an opportunity with Ollie now he's growing up (and if Linda sobers up!)

Corrie have had a character for decades who is almost certainly autistic (Roy), although it has never been confirmed.

Mrsjayy · 28/06/2024 18:29

Karen's twins have non specified learning difficulties I don't think they had autism.

Shellingbynight · 28/06/2024 18:40

Thank you for the reminder Mrsjayy, I barely remember them. I don't know if there were originally more plans for them but they got hardly any screen time.

Mrsjayy · 28/06/2024 18:43

I remember reading the boys who played them were shielding during the pandemic and they just didn't return.

Shellingbynight · 28/06/2024 20:17

Karen's family ended up a bit of a (storylining) mess all round.

I just watched today's episode, thank goodness Billy has stopped the dramatics and the truth is out about the money. I liked Teddy more in this episode. What do we think is the secret, maybe Stevie was married to Teddy's mum. Perry Fenwick is 62 so presumably Billy is a similar age, making him a lot older than Teddy.

Hopefully now Delia has gone to the police the storyline will move on, I liked Yolande's speech to her.

I couldn't work out Maya's scheme, but I think she wants to break up Harvey and Jean, so Harvey is deprived of his loved one (like Maya was).

Annonymiss123 · 29/06/2024 10:55

I’ve only just figured out that Stevie is Lexi’s great-great grandfather! 🤯

Mrsjayy · 29/06/2024 11:06

I liked Teddy better last night than the episode before the introduction to them was way over the top although Phill is still wary of Stevie. I wish Billy wouldn't whinge I can't stand loud whiners gets right on my nerves.

Mrsjayy · 29/06/2024 11:07

Annonymiss123 · 29/06/2024 10:55

Yes that's what happens when they all have kids as 14😂

Mrsjayy · 29/06/2024 11:09

@Shellingbynight yes Billy is in his early 60s.

Shellingbynight · 29/06/2024 12:32

Thanks @Mrsjayy

I just had a look at EE wiki to see the backstory with Billy's mum, and it says he is 65. I guess Teddy is mid 40s, so Billy is old enough to be his dad! It doesn't say anything about Billy's mum though, I assume she's long dead, I can't remember if Stevie ever mentioned anything.

Eastie77Returns · 30/06/2024 12:43

Long lost relatives are only ever mentioned if they are going to appear on the square. So if Billy starts talking about his dear old muvver we’ll know her arrival is imminent.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/06/2024 13:04

I'm wondering is Billy's Mum was The Fling and Teddy's Mum was his wife ?
No idea about Charlie though . ( Billy mentioned Charlie but he's dead )

Maybe that's why Billy ended up in care if he was the child from an extra marital affair . If you;re looking at 60+ years ago , this would've been an ultimate shame bringing situation.

Could he be Teddys Dad? There's already been Kat/Zoe and Mick/Shirley where they think the parent is the sibling , but those were both child/mum
It would be a new storyline if Billy had got someone pregnant and left them to bring up a baby , maybe she couldn't cope with and Stevie brought up Teddy ?
But Stevie says "20 years" he's been in a family set up with Teddy so that wouldn't add up . Unless it was the first 20 years then Teddy left ?
