I agree re Reiss, and that is why I think he's so dangerous. He will do anything to keep Sonia, he's seriously disturbed.

I am really not here for Karen grilling Linda. I don't want to see Karen or Dean on my screen ever again!

I don't know how this is going to pan out but Dean’s trial would be very problematic. It would mean Linda giving evidence, and she is fragile even in ordinary life. She would drink herself into oblivion in the weeks before a trial. I liked the idea of Dean ‘paying’ but in solving one problem they’ve created another one. I don’t want to see Linda paying for this until eternity.

I agree Yolande is being daft about the christening. There is no reason she can't say she has fallen out big time with Clayton, she doesn't have to say why.

I found Reiss quite sinister from the beginning because he was never really honest with Sonia, he seemed to stake her out after Dot died and I initially thought he was after the inheritance - I do wonder what they are doing with this storyline.

I just think the whole Sonia/Reiss IVF storyline is so distasteful. Reiss is still a married man. Sonia has not only shacked up with a man who is technically not available, but is now hellbent on having a child with him at whatever the cost. But by using Reiss's wife's money whilst she is in no fit state to give consent.

If she was not comatose, would any of this still be happening? No! So it shouldn't be now either. The way Reiss keeps saying Debbie would have wanted this and for him to be happy etc is just not right imho. At least have the decency to wait until the woman has passed or divorce her first (can he even do that now she is not conscious)?!?

It's not only Reiss who has this view of ' it's all ok' Kathy said the same to Sonia too. She encouraged her to go back to Reiss.

Yes this Is what a lot of us were saying when he turned up he was after Dots house.inheritence, he is maybe playing the long game and we know how easily Sonia is duped.

I do remember Reiss was very 'odd' (and the fact he turned up at a funeral was always going to be significant). But it was done well, it seemed like he might just be socially awkward, and then we found out about Debbie so that seemed to be what he was hiding. The actor is very good at 'innocently hapless'. He isn't even bothering to hide the dark side now and Sonia hasn't noticed because she is so obsessed with the IVF. She will keep defending him until he's taken away in handcuffs.

I found it odd that Kathy defended him, then again she'd take Rocky back if he turned up on the doorstep, we known she has poor judgment in men so maybe not odd at all!

I wonder what really happened to Debbie, I suspect it was not a stroke.

When I said Debs wouldn't survive long, I meant Reiss would ensure she didn't! 😄

I don't like Reiss and this IVF storyline is ridiculous, but i don't find his relationship with Sonia distasteful. If i were Debbie, i wouldn't want my partner to be alone forever when i was in a coma. Didnt Jane do something similar when sje arrived and met Ian? She had a husband in a hospice though i dont remember the details.

Jane's husband had Huntingdon's disease, he was terminally ill and died within a few months. She didn't start dating Ian until her husband had died.

Reiss finds it very convenient to decide "what Debbie would want" including using her money to impregnate his new partner. He isn't exactly Mr Integrity.

Sadly not FatBoy (though there was some dreamy sequence reflection in a car window malarky I think )

Eastenders Scenario 1:

Debs recovers conciousness and makes a 90% recovery , just like Phil and his liver transplant (and the many times he was left for dead in the inspection pit of the Arches and shot ), Alfie from his brain tumour and Ben from his pneumothorax .
She;ll go and live with Sonia'n'Reiss , setting up a bedroom in the back room.Sonia can look after her

Or Sonia will get some extra shifts working in the CareHome and find out Debs isn't there because of an illness , but a hideous domestic violence trauma from Reiss .

I feel the same @toadinthebucket - surely no one would begrudge someone in Reiss's position moving on whilst still looking after his wife.

Plus they are married so I would also assume her money is his to use as he sees fit.

[Unless there is a horrendous DV storyline coming but I don't see that at all although could see him as a manipulating conman after Sonia for her house!]

Reiss claims he has Lasting Power of Attorney for Debbie. As her attorney he has to use Debbie's money in her best interests. He cannot spend any of that money on himself or anyonelse.

But he’s been really deceptive about it. He was never open about anything until he was cornered. And we know he has a habit of telling lies to get out of situations, for example telling Kat that she hadn’t paid him when she had. His character is not consistent because he makes a big deal about how important integrity is to him but he only looks out for himself.

I’m trying to remember how the IVF storyline came about - I know Sonia had a pregnancy scare which affected their relationship but I’m not sure who wanted a baby and whose idea the IVF was now.

Surely though as they are married then it's also his money? So POA is a bit misleading?

Or how is it split as to what is Debbie's and what's his?

Also why would Debbie need money given she would qualify for continuing healthcare and would therefore have no costs/ need for money?

Not arguing, just genuinely don't understand.

Agree Reiss is a slippery figure & I don't like the character but I've never liked Sonia either so would be happy if both left.
