Bridgerton Season 3 May 16th binge watch together

I’m not a telly addict but I became obsessed with Bridgerton during Covid times. I love the casting, the settings, the dances, the music, the yearning, and the guarantee of a happy ending.

I’m embarrassed to admit how much I love it in real life because it’s so shallow.

Is anyone else planning to binge watch season 3 when it’s released next Thursday? If so, can we set up a MN support group please?

Yeah I don't think it will happen as the author said they could change stories but not any of the couples in the show.

Apparently she’s come out recently and said that’s not the case and she’d be fine with it, which is just fanning the flames!

And considering she didn’t know that she was in a Bridgerton love story, of course pen should have taken such a fantastic option!

So it's weird to read all the spoilers about potential character changes- but I have to tell myself it's just a TV show!!!

I doubt it. There was a gay relationship in Queen Charlotte and it was very much secret. I know they stretch the truth in Bridgerton but given that it's within living memory for many of us that being gay was illegal in the UK I think an openly celebrated gay partnership in Regency times would be a stretch too far.

Colin and Penelope were my favourite book, followed by Hyacinth and Anthony. If they start changing all the stories even more than they have done, I probably won't bother watching the rest of it tbh. I was hoping they'd do something along the lines of the Happily Ever After book as the final season.

Has anyone seen Polly Walker / Lady Featherington in Enchanted April (1992)? I remember being blown away by her beauty.

I have been wondering for a while if they'd do that. To be honest, at this stage I'd be surprised if they didn't. My main worry is that they'll do it with Benedict, who I find hot AF and would quite like to see getting it on with a bird. But I'm sure they'll make it work, whether it's him or another sibling. I have 100% blind faith in the people running this show.

@readingmakesmehappy No they still don't know Penelope is LW. I think it's in the first episode that they say about the Aunt dying. Penelope and her sisters think this is true. It's only Portia and Varley who know the truth.

Pen gives the LW cash as a fake bequest in the book- but I think that in the show Portia and the housekeeper were discussing the money from the fake ruby mines and hiding it as a bequest, so they were in on it unlike in the book.
