I admit I watched the first episode the very first time around and I loathed it.
People told me to stick with it and I'm glad I did
It's certainly bawdy at times, but it has heart and some memorable characters
Nessa is my favorite one.

I always thought he came through the back door as a joke on his sexuality - he likes the back door so to speak….

Because Stacey has very few functioning brain cells.

Yes, I'm not sure if Stacey's naivety is as convincing as when she was in her 20s, her character had stood still in time, I think they should have developed her a bit more.

Absolutey. She’s so immature. She’s the only character really that hasn’t shown any development throughout the years……she’s as stupid (and dull) as she was in the first episode.

I was rooting for Nessa to get on the ship.

Got to series 1 episode 5, the stag and hen nights, and realised for the first time that of the matching stag t shirts, Gary's says 'Gary N' and Simon's says 'N Simon' 😂

I can see Nessa as a merchant sea women !
I think that her and Smithy will be very happy though. It won't be a boring relationship / marriage !

I can't stand Stacey. I find all the other main characters, and most of the minor ones, funny and like them in some way but I can't bear Stacey. She's thick, selfish and irritating. She is never funny although things that emerge about her or around her are.

Stacey is a needy , spoilt nightmare who wants her own way constantly and completely indulged by those around her.
I don't mind Gavin , he has elements of Mick which is a good thing

I've just started watching it and, being a sad pedant, need to point out that the Little Chef on the A12 was turned into a massive sex shop several years ago (stag plan)! Unless they go and hilarity ensues...

Red, that shop on the A 12 is strange !
I often wonder who goes in it .

Many of the comments have worried me! So many jokes people don’t seem to get at all.

Just watched it and I loved it. It's a lovely way to end a show that for whatever reason I've always found really comforting.

Also, he is losing Nessa and Neil the baby as his long-time lodgers, so is probably very upset at the thought of Gwenn not needing him and Dave Coaches moving in, especially as Dave Coaches is the one person 'who knows' what happened between him and Jason - bound to be tense for Brynn.

I agree, Brynn will be lonely now. Maybe he'll finally find his way to Grinder? (Yes, I know it's fictional ...)
