I know we know it's coming and this post will get lost in the death throes of this thread but I've been keeping tabs for SEVEN threads now... the final dinner party and tomorrow night's session are obviously a different venue (The Grounds, for anyone who missed the repeated product placement). So now it makes sense why the sofas in the "going to have to ask you to leave" trailer aren't the ones in the commitment ceremonies. Almost there...

Should be MAFSAU bingo words/phrases...

Blindsided
Thrown under the bus
Have a chat
100%
Red flag
Been intimate

“Giving you Permission to be vulnerable”
“Thats quite confronting”

If this was a drinking game we would be on the floor

MaggieFS · 30/04/2024 07:56

Yep, I've got your back on that one 😀

Well... I did think Ellie and Jonno would be a good couple, but never expected them to be so nasty.
Poor Lauren.

Yes same.

I can even believe it was fairly innocent between them during the experiment, even if they did like each other.

But they were nasty and tactless last night. Such a shame.

ReadyTeddy1000 · 30/04/2024 08:26

Cazza0104 · 29/04/2024 23:14

@Abitboring exactly. They’re still together on Insta so Jonno is clearly still lovebombing her tho, and she’s fallen for his lame explanation. Personally I’d want to know why he kept writing ‘stay’ and whether he was intending to re-commit at final vows if he hadn’t been caught out!

No spoilers 🤬

browneyes77 · 30/04/2024 08:26

I’m really hoping John and Mel lay into Jonno and Ellie about their behaviour at the dinner party.

Pulling Jonno up on his lies and gaslighting of Lauren and the way he threw a grenade into Tim & Sara’s relationship to deflect heat from himself. And Ellie calling another woman a bitch. And the general overly obnoxious behaviour of both of them.

Newestname002 · 30/04/2024 08:30

@Abitboring

Idk Jonno seemed more than smug...he gave me personality disorder vibes. He was quite happy to throw anyone under the bus and the way he behaved was quite cruel. And Ellie finding nothing wrong with it.

What did Lauren say at the beginning?

He's like a serial killer with his robot voice? He really lived up to her earlier astute comments. And, if anything, Ellie is worse as she took such delight in openly goading Lauren. 🌹

Do any of the ixperts actually have professional qualifications?

Mel and John are qualified and practicing psychologists.

I read that John used to be referred to as a psych on the programme but was reviewed by the Aussie regulatory body after a complaint about the programme.

They concluded he can continue to appear but not in the capacity of psychologist. Hence he is now referred to as a relationship expert.

He can still practice elsewhere, he's not been struck off, but it seems the psychologists regulatory body (I CBA to check the name) wanted to disassociate themselves from his advice on the programme. I think that was a few years ago and he seems to have got a lot more robust on bad/abusive behaviours.

He does tend to be the one enforcing the 'well one of you has put 'stay' so..' rule so I wonder whether Mel prefers not to be seen pushing participants to remain in unhappy partnerships if she's still there in the capacity of psychologist.

Alessandra's quals I'm a lot less sure about tbh! Not entirely certain how one becomes a sexologist!

Catlord · 30/04/2024 09:11

Oh and I can't believe Sara didn't have the sense to see what that was about. Give Tim what for later if need be but no way I'd have given that oddball the satisfaction of kicking off

newname642 · 29/04/2024 20:33

the temptation to throw red wine on his light suit must be huge

Oh I was shouting throw the wine Lauren!!! I really felt for her, and raging at those two smug cheating liars sitting opposite The irony of Jono calling her a horrible person!
His mask of Mr nice guy came off and he was just horrible last night Lauren was right Australian psycho fits him well
I was just so angry that Lauren was upset I wanted angry Lauren and the wine to fly! Or Sara could have done it if she’s seen his deflection for what is was.

Turtonator · 30/04/2024 09:22

Raging about last night. The "dragon" comment in the car set the tone for me - Jonno wasn't kept a prisoner, he had the choice to write leave or, as others have done, just pack and leave ... To call Lauren a horrible person across a dinner table in front of every other participant, it's like he was goading her - go on, show the table how bad you are! Lauren's biggest asset is her confident voice, calling out the bullshit - she's articulate and astute but he silenced her in showing complete distain for her. She wanted to keep it classy and not lose her rag, but she just looked defeated. I was horribly hurt for her. I hope the ixperts rip both Jonno and Ellie new arseholes. And their kids, with Jonno's side mouth and Ellie's sticky out nose are going to look like Pinocchio.

Newestname002 · 30/04/2024 09:29

Justkoko · 29/04/2024 22:11

Didn't Jonno say something in earlier episodes about being out of control or with anger problems or something when he was younger, that he had tried to overcome?

Yes at home stay week with Lauren's "doubting Thomas" friend gave him the thumbs up. 🌹

Higglings · 30/04/2024 09:58

If Jono was was a flavour he’d be wet cardboard.

JellyBeanFactory · 30/04/2024 10:03

It was our wedding anniversary at the weekend and due to work and other commitments, we didn't really celebrate. DH has just surprised me with a table booked at our favourite restaurant for tonight.
Now I know I should be grateful but... doesn't he know it the last one tonight 🫣
(I've said "lovely but it can't be a late night as I've got work tomorrow (which means I'll stay up later when we're home and watch the final episode))

JamTartLover · 30/04/2024 10:09

Ellie and Jonno's behaviour was disgusting to watch. It makes you wonder how much of what Ben said was true...

Didn't Lauren write leave for one of the commitment ceremonies? Jonno never has, so it couldn't have been that bad?

burnoutbabe · 30/04/2024 10:47

I do try and remember though that this is all highly edited.

Clearly people said what they said.

But one never knows how much is left out (so a nasty comment by one side when they miss the 20 mins of nasty comments on other side beforehand)

Lauren is funny and makes comments the viewers like so gets the good edit. Jonno now does not.

(Of course doesn't mean anyone didn't actually say what is shown but who knows it's what else was missed out)

Biggest shame is not seeing sny one else last night at the table. Only focus on 2 couples. Big waste of time.

Turtonator · 30/04/2024 11:03

Lucinda was fab though, wasn't she? Addressing the Jonno/Ellie issue and pointing out Lauren's feelings in one great sentence. I did notice Sticky Timothy didn't sit next to her, though, deciding to go further down the table. I'd have liked to see Ash (married to that Mad one) have a bit of interaction with other participants, he really did get a bad deal out of MAFS. Tori's face when Jonno and Ellie walked in was pure euphoria, she was absolutely loving it. The cow.

I've been so invested in this and feel really let down by the drama, the snideness, the two-faced stuff. Everyone greeting Jonno and Ellie - I'd have sat on my hands ... but, I guess with editing playing such a heavy part in what we see, who knows how that would have been portrayed.

Catlord · 30/04/2024 11:32

Tim and Sara was tedious. I wanted to hear from Ash and maybe Nat/Collins. Although it seemed like Collins just can't behave normally in whatever the MAFS setup is

burnoutbabe · 30/04/2024 11:35

Yes Lucinda was great. Recognition of all parties from her.

Nicklebox · 30/04/2024 13:24

Been following but haven't posted before. I always record the episodes and watch the next day. Am utterly disgusted by Jono and Ellie's behavior, vile people they are both really nasty and deserve each other.

Villagetoraiseachild · 30/04/2024 13:38

QueSyrahSyrah · 29/04/2024 21:19

Well. What an utterly vile pair of cunts Jono and Ellie are. How do they envisage this working out for their public profiles I wonder?

Who'd have thought someone would nip in and steal the King Dickhead crown from Jack at the 11th hour? Extraordinary.

I know!
Well if their success in vitamins and personal training are adversely affected by their dodgy behaviours and 'personalities', they might get seasonal work in pantos over here.

Callmejudith · 30/04/2024 13:39

Absolutely horrendous behaviour from Jonno and Ellie - snide, nasty cunts the pair of them

SinisterBumFacedCat · 30/04/2024 14:18

Jono and Ellie are the worst yet, it’s like if Olivia got together with Bryce. Just nasty cunts. (And I rarely drop the C Bomb)

Umanresources · 30/04/2024 15:17

I never use the ‘c’ word but I can think it. I think Jonno and Ellie deserve each other. Jonno must have said more yesterday than he did throughout his whole time there. Gosh he had the most boring charismatic bypass voice ever. I did think he looked as though he should have been twirling his moustache like a pantomime villain. Mwahaha. It made me cringe to see him throw his head back and laugh.
