I searched for a thread but didn't find one

New series on Amazon Prime. Based on a game.

Kyle McLaughlin and Walton Goggins the only well known actors (to me anyway). Actually, I recognise a couple of other faces.

Premise is an that 200 years after a nuclear fallout in an alternative 1950's, there are folk who live in vaults underground and then those who live in the wastelands above ground.

Protagonist called Lucy.

I've watched 3 episodes and am enjoying it.

And they better not make Maximus turn bad!
They won’t. But in his quest to be the version of the Knight who saved him from NCR, I can see him having some difficult choices.

I walked out the room several times amd had to cover my eyes and ears. Horribly violent so refused to watch anymore.

@SwordToFlamethrower really? Unclench fgs

Just finished. Reckon it’ll be the best thing I’ll see all year!

Main question I have that hasn’t been answered is how come Moldaver is still alive after 200+ years?

We don't know why Moldaver is still alive yet, hopefully we'll hear more of her story in season 2.

I thought of another question.

I didn't quite understand the pregnant women in Vault 4. Are they women that got pregnant due to experiments in the early days? And the modern day people keep them safe but don't wake them as they know they might die in childbirth if they do?

I'm not sure, I think they are probably from the original vault 4 occupants experiments, maybe the current occupants think it's too dangerous to defrost them as they don't know what they are pregnant with? Gulpers are nothing compared to a deathclaw, although I think i'd quite like to see a deathclaw human hybrid, that could be really weird and interesting.

Rollergirl11 · 24/04/2024 12:07

Why had Moldaver kept Rose alive like that? Seemed especially cruel.

Mothership4two · 24/04/2024 20:01

I understand the ghoulifucation process now thanks to @ChishiyaBat but if it's from the effects of radiation, why did that other squire immediately become a ghoul once he injected the 'ghoul juice' into himself? And what does that actually do for the ghouls?

I am guessing that the ghoul juice the squire took is the fev virus or the experimental drug from fallout 4 that makes people ghouls, as for what it does to the ghouls, again just a guess, but I think it can prolong their life span so they don't turn feral. As for Cooper I think he's just a junkie😂.

Isn’t it 2077 initially? Society has developed along slightly different lines so it’s sort of a hi-tech 1950s?

Yes, it's set in an alternate 1950s I think.
The robots, the distant architecture.

MonkeyTennis34 · 30/04/2024 07:36

LOVED this series and it's really not my usual thing. It was extremely violent, but as it was based in a game, it made it easier to watch.

The production values, character development (although we've yet to see the ghoul's full back story!) and general aesthetic were excellent.

Soooo glad Maximus (my favourite character) survived for series 2.

The quirky humour and soundtrack were hilights for me.

Can't wait for the next series.

Its set in the future but the imagery is all 1950's

Midnightstar76 · 15/05/2024 06:12

Just finished utterly brilliant. Can’t wait now for season 2

Cooroo · 11/07/2024 22:22

Just finished and loved it. Now feel I need to watch all over again.

Have loved Walton Goggins since Justified and he's great in this too.
