I was like "leave Dylan alone" not liking Patrick and in fact this whole influx of new characters is little much I think.

I started to dislike Patrick early on, when he encouraged Rash to return to work too soon. It seemed he was primarily motivated by the staff shortage issue, not what was best for Rash. His ambush of Dylan in the M&M meeting was very unprofessional as was his badgering about Aspergers, etc. And when poor Dylan has reached the end of his tether, Patrick didn't offer support, just tried to guilt trip him because of staffing levels again. Grim.

(I may not be the only one who suspects he administered penicillin to beach lady when he was hovering at her bedside when she was coughing?)

What Patrick did to Dylan was appalling, and what the hell did he expect to happen, after what he did. He accused him of being autistic in the most offensive way possible (because it shouldn’t be an accusation, and the way he did it - not because it should be offensive) and basically told him he’s shit at his job. Of course Dylan was going to react to that.

The rest of the new cast are great though, I really like Nicole, and she didn’t deserve Dylan passing it on to her.

i had a bad feeling about him, after Rash’s counselling session, where he opened up and spoke only
to be told that he couldn’t speak to her again as she was there for Patrick. Then guilt tripped into coming back too early.

Given that Dylan’s been on Casualty for 13 years and Dervla wasn’t young then, it seems very unlikely she would still be alive now. But I don’t recall her dying.

Surely Patrick can’t have deliberately basically killed a patient in the ED, just to undermine another member of staff…
