It was one which focussed the ambulance crew, but think it was shown earlier than January

LIZS · 07/04/2024 12:42

The one I'm thinking of was shown 13th January "Barriers"

OneMoreTime23 · 07/04/2024 12:43

Can’t be that one then. Maybe it’s yet to come.

Zyq · 07/04/2024 13:26

If Patrick did indeed kill that patient, I'm clinging on to the hope that they will operate by the basic scriptwriting principle in soaps that bad people need to be seen not to get away with it. If Dylan is the one to expose him, so much the better.

FizzingAda · 07/04/2024 13:42

I'm very suspicious of Patrick - he's out to get Dylan. And my spaniel, named after my favourite doctor, agrees with me. You are being watched, Patrick………….

daffodilandtulip · 07/04/2024 15:06

[Panicked voice] He's not actually left though has he?? 👀

AllRevvedUpWithNoPlaceToGo · 07/04/2024 15:28

i only watch Casualty for Dylan these days, if he goes I’ll be gone too!

I don't believe he's truly left

MoonWoman69 · 07/04/2024 16:33

I'm with you there @AllRevvedUpWithNoPlaceToGo He's the only one (oh apart from Ian and Jan!) that truly engages me enough to watch each week. Yes I think if he left, I wouldn't bother to tune in

I’m with you both if Dylan leaves I’m out of casualty viewing. I’ve watched it on Saturday night it must be since time began and on catch up when my social life takes me out (infrequenltly).
I will admit I’ve not watched it since 9th March as I’ve been on holiday and confused by the new characters. I’m middle aged so doesn’t take a lot.

hoarahloux · 07/04/2024 22:12

I was all up in arms ready to quit Casualty the moment the boat blew up with Dylan and Zoe on her wedding day on board.

About a decade later I swear I'll do it if he leaves this time!

Damn, I was ready to trust Patrick, but he absolutely penicillin'ed that lady without noticing the red bracelet that Nicole put on. The writers must know that if he makes Dylan leave he'll be persona non grata forever. I think it's interesting that they're bringing up autism after all these years, and after I was like "what kind of doctor still talks about aspergers" I was glad that Dylan refuted that. A decade on we should not still be using a nazi as our term for autism with lower support needs.

purpleme12 · 07/04/2024 22:15

It hadn't occurred to me till people mentioned on this thread about Patrick doing it.

But I did notice him going to the patient and I did think it odd.

But then why would he go to the patient anyway to treat them? They usually leave it to the patient's doctor don't they.
It's really odd

spiderlight · 07/04/2024 22:51

Was she already having breathing issues when he went over, though? Thinking back, I think that was why he went to her, but it was odd that they showed him just looking at her so he's definitely done something, or deliberately not done something, as a way of undermining Dylan.

purpleme12 · 07/04/2024 22:56

I've just looked back and the subtitles said 'rasping breaths' so perhaps you're right it and it was the breathing thing.

Now after everyone's comments and looking back, perhaps he did give penicillin and covering up.
I didn't see that one coming

purpleme12 · 07/04/2024 22:58

Would you give penicillin for a breathing thing? Surely he'd have looked at her notes though before giving anything if she's in the middle of being treated?

They would have given her a different antibiotic in the first place, as she had an open fracture, but there's a good chance that she would have been allergic to that as well (I have multiple antibiotic allergies and my dad and aunt have both had anaphylactic reactions to antibiotics other than those they knew they were allergic to). I reckon he went over, saw her starting to react, and didn't do anything about it.

Edited

When her symptoms were first realised Dylan and the other doctor (the new one) went through her charts (and drug chart I imagine) to make sure she hadn’t been given anything. Nothing was documented as being given and the new doctor verbally confirmed the patient hadn’t been given anything.

When the patient first came to the unit a lot of focus was put on the fact that an allergy band was put on her, which is never usually highlighted in a show, and it stood out as being odd to me and very purposeful.

My guess is that Patrick saw the band and gave her the penicillin anyway. The fact the show made sure we knew the patient was wearing a band was to highlight to us that Patrick would have seen it too.

hoarahloux · 13/04/2024 22:25

Poor Teddy. Confronting her alone backfired so badly.

Come back soon Dylan. Maybe with a diagnosis so Patrick has to provide disability accommodations and can't moan about it.

Nomdejeur · 13/04/2024 22:33

Do you think that there is footage of Patrick administering the penicillin? Or is it to soon to be rid of him?

Lookingatthesunset · 13/04/2024 22:39

That would be good!

Just hoping there's no footage of Teddy's assault, though I like to think Siobhan would have dealt with that the minute she reviewed it. I don't suppose she's responsible anyway for the paramedics.

That was a dark episode! And poor Teddy!

I love Stevie, as well as Dylan (obvs!) Iain, Jan, Teddy, Rash. I like Rida, Cam and Jodie too. Tariq is a bit of a poser but no doubt the character will develop; they usually do. Siobhan has the makings of a good 'un too.

I'm loathe to say I dislike any character at the outset but I am really not liking Patrick!!

FourLeggedBuckers · 13/04/2024 22:39

Poor Teddy. She was really vile about it - I mean, what she did was awful obviously but she fairly doubled down on it in this episode. And now everything’s worse for him.

And Siobhan’s little email error… yikes 🫣

Lookingatthesunset · 13/04/2024 22:51

I hope Teddy goes to the police. The brazen cow needs dealt with. And Teddy needs to confide in someone.

Lookingatthesunset · 13/04/2024 22:55

Can't believe I forgot about Jacob!! I love love Jacob!

daffodilandtulip · 13/04/2024 22:58

So the lady doctor came in all happy and competent and now she's all needy and anxious?

And how did Teddy end up in the fakest fight ever? Was he just out running or did he plan to meet them?

Oh and I bet the lead man manipulated those emails somehow to make Our Aveline look bad.
