She probably had an appt for treatment, she has in previous episodes.

Oh yes of course, I'm forgetting this was filmed last year.

wildfellhall · 20/02/2025 11:41

This is my comfort viewing as my house is much better than these crisis houses but I do have one box room which has one side with stuff in piles half way up one wall.

Also our bedroom is a MESS

wildfellhall · 20/02/2025 11:42

But why don't I start clearing up rather than watching tv 🤔

RaraRachael · 20/02/2025 11:55

My house is tidy as it's small and there's just me and OH but I still enjoy watching SYLO. I think the experts are great and I love watching the amazing things they come up with even though we will never be able to do any of them!

Izzy24 · 20/02/2025 12:47

Have just read about Dilly’s illness. What an awe-inspiring woman.

It sounds very much like this is what happened to Kate Middleton.

Do we know what happened to Kate Middleton?

placemats · 20/02/2025 13:49

I love Dilly. I never knew that she went through so much pain and surgery. She's an absolute star. Love this article and it has really helped me.

No, but Dilly said that her cancer was found when she had an operation for something else (fibroids?) and this chimes with what Kate had. We don't know the full details as it's not been shared but it seems similar.

CurbsideProphet · 20/02/2025 21:32

Yes Dilly had fibroids and a history of painful periods. I'm pretty sure she had difficulty trying to conceive a second child, so went private for further investigations. The cancer was then found. She did a video on Instagram with The Gynae Geek (an NHS Gynae doctor) about it. It was quite upsetting actually as it sounded like she had tried for a good while to get anyone to listen to her. She had complications from cancer treatment but it seems like she's doing really well now. Very inspiring how she has carried on with SYLO and her own business.

TitsInAbsentia · 21/02/2025 20:19

All the team are fab but Dilly is a queen...let's not forget her amazing knitwear from earlier series!

Knitwear? I've missed that!

Re Kate Middleton - I thought I read that she had stomach cancer, although i don't know how it was discovered, ie, what symptoms she had.

I think it was mainly the first two series, she always had fab jumpers/knitwear on, all came from the same company but can't recall the name.

No, she's never disclosed what she has/ had, that's why I asked in case there had been an update.

I roll my eyes at Iwan's nonsense. But I really like him, he's lovely. Surely he could have a better role on the show.

I giggled at Iwan being scared of the spider and bouking at the gunk in the sink. Also at all the stuff in the neighbours garage too!
(I sobbed through the rest of the episode. I lost a friend to breast cancer last year whose DD is the same age as mine. Heartbreaking)

😀
But I think loads of teaspoons is fine! All in a pot on my work surface.
But Tupperware
Books,
Clothes
Stuff my mother in law has decluttered onto me...

Thing is when she mocked the dessert spoon I thought that was daft. We have dessert spoons and soup spoons and we aren't posh.

wildfellhall · 24/02/2025 12:19

Yes I thought that too, she said 'we're not in Downton Abbey' 😆

RaraRachael · 24/02/2025 12:27

This. My iLs were downsizing to a flat and every time we visited there would be a collection of "treasures" on the spare bed for us to choose from (some of which we'd given them). It was basically a load of old tat but we took something so as not to hurt their feelings. It just meant an extra journey to the charity shop or dump for us.

We have dessert and soup spoons. I don't consider that a posh thing at all.

Lovemycat2023 · 24/02/2025 12:28

We were given some family silver recently and now have all sorts of cutlery, including smaller than usual knives and forks. No idea what they are for!

Starters when having multiple courses dinners.

The dessert spoon thing was very silly... they come as part of a standard cutlery set.

I think some of ours have gone to live with you, as teaspoons is one spoon we are serious lacking in😆

I did think it odd she mentioned the desert spoons. We have different spoons for different foods and are definitely not posh, though dh doesn't appear to know this as he uses the soup spoon for breakfast🤷‍♀️

In which case I will use them for my (once a year) smoked salmon and prawn soup starters!
