DD and I were speculating about the screening process today (waiting for the dentist so yes we were quite bored) and reckoned they must have to weed out tonnes of people where one half of the couple isn't engaged with it and is being forced into it by their desperate partner. We also wondered if you have to send photos so they can check it's bad enough to make good TV and if anyone makes it deliberately worse so they get the free help.

I think they ask for a video audition/house walk through to see how much stuff there is and how well you come across on video.

Anyone watching tonight?

Hope I’m ok to join this. Love the programme.

id like to do a revisit of the families in pass series and also know id they get any real life support to deal with the issues that got them into needing the programme.

I would also like to see a few revisited programmes from the earlier series'.

Anyone watching tonight?
Interested in views on the ex husband!

Overstream · 19/03/2024 21:52

I’m watching. I thought the husband was a lazy arse. Was shamed into finally clearing all his shit!

Overstream · 19/03/2024 21:54

Also not keen on the blue walls….

User478 · 19/03/2024 21:59

Rob's busy tonight! Sort your life out and Interior Design Masters!

Ihavetoomuchtodo · 19/03/2024 21:59

Agree with that. He just couldn't care less could he.
Also did they show the kitchen at all?

BrennieGirl · 19/03/2024 22:00

I quite liked the blue walls but wasn't keen on the twiggy shit/dust gatherers stuck on the walls.

Overstream · 19/03/2024 22:01

No, I wondered about the kitchen. Rest of the house was lovely (apart from blue walls); dance studio was a great idea.

Overstream · 19/03/2024 22:03

Yes twiggy shit - also spider collector!

tothelefttotheleft · 19/03/2024 22:37

I think the family revealed far too much about themselves. Who would want everyone knowing all that private information?

I thought the blue in the lounge made the room seem smaller and darker. The frames on the wall were awful. The dining room end was much nicer.

Also someone needs to talk to Stacey about all the plastic shit she uses. The fake plants in the ballet shoes, the fake grass/plants for the dance room sign etc etc.

CornishTiger · 19/03/2024 22:39

I watched Rob busy on both programmes. I’d love a Rob in my life. He’d sort our storage issues out!

I actually liked the blue walls with the striking pink. I’d have preferred the shoe storage door wasnt see through. I’d not want to sit on sofa and view the shoes. It was such a good idea though overall.

I liked the medal table idea but reckon it would have been better placed in living room.

No showing of kitchen and no telescopic Stacey poles in sight. I’ve been rewatching series 1 today where those feature heavily.

I think he was cheating. Looking at the state of him she can do better. Aged badly and looks like a slob.

Ulysees · 20/03/2024 01:38

Yes the exdh was definitely lazy. He should have shifted some of that stuff much earlier.
The mother is so lovely looking she could do much better.
I liked a lot of it but the blue walls reminded me of the bar from last week. Too much blue in my opinion. And the things stuck on the living room wall looked dated.
I don't like the plastic leaves. Not sure why you'd want them in the dance studio? Neon sign maybe but not dust collectors.

The family liked it all though and that's the main thing.

Loved seeing the mam and daughters tap dancing at the end 😊

Loved this episode! Felt there was still a lot of emotion attached to the break up but Stacey dealt with it great by getting him to come and take his shit. I loved the comment she made about him just leaving and starting fresh, leaving everything and not dealing with it. The Mum could definitely do so much better, she seems talented and seems lovely

PaulGalico1 · 20/03/2024 07:56

I enjoyed this episode. Thought the warehouse was very strained when Dad arrived but good that he was made to show up and clear his stuff. I like the living room but having lived in one that was similar, too much blue can make it feel cold. I struggle with shoe storage but I wouldn't want them stored in the living room next to a radiator (can smell those trainers). Totally agree 'stop with all the plastic' (leaves, artifical flowers...) you are supposed to be decluttering not adding.

PenelopeClearwaterHalfblood · 20/03/2024 07:56

I was a bit 😳 with the medals in the resin table! I hope she checked with them first.

Giggorata · 20/03/2024 08:05

I was dead impressed by Mum calling everyone's bluff in her very high heels.

”If you can walk in them, you can keep them,” indeed.
She could dance in them!

OSU · 20/03/2024 08:53

I found it so sad that she'd obviously struggled since he'd left her and him blaming her for the mess when a tonne of it was his! I know she said she was 99% sure she had ADHD, but I wonder a bit if she was autistic too. Just something very contained about her.

I think so too. I work with adults with autism and have family members and said that straight away. Lovely woman.

@PenelopeClearwaterHalfblood me too. I gasped when I saw that. Really hope they did check!

@PaulGalico1 exactly what a strange place to put them? They could have built shoe storage elsewhere. Maybe they just have to do weird shit sometimes?

@Giggorata I know I was amazed. Glad though as she would have felt crap otherwise. Dilly's face 😂

SenoritaViva · 20/03/2024 09:10

@OSU and @Ulysees sorry to derail the thread slightly. Can you tell me what you mean by contained? My DD is going through a diagnosis (age 15) and it has been suggested that I also have adhd/asd. I think it’s entirely possible so I am not being goady I just struggle to see it so would love you to explain as I think it might apply to me!

Ulysees · 20/03/2024 09:20

@SenoritaViva it was more her mannerisms and her need for order but being so overwhelmed that made me think it. The way she spoke. Autism is as you know a broad spectrum, so a lot of people have it but are unaware. It doesn't always impact people's lives.
Who has suggested this to you? Is it health professionals?

shearwater2 · 20/03/2024 10:56

I think the programme is pretty enlightened in how they deal with the emotional baggage as well as the stuff, TBH. I love it.

The solutions have got even more impressive in this series. A dance studio from a garage and a secret library from a spare room, plus I loved the home office going into a cupboard when you aren't working. Brilliant.

Rubyrubyrubyruby123 · 20/03/2024 11:11

does anyone know where Dilly’s colourful dress is from this week?
