The heist in comedy slippers was a big low ! lol
Plus the ones back from the dead.
It certainly is a silly soap , but I still carry on with it !!

He couldn't go to New York, because he has a criminal record (perverting the course of justice - him and Chelsea - they went to prison).

How did he managed to buy a ticket if he had a historic criminal record (I'm not talking about the case he is involved in now )
I went to the States 30 years ago and I know we had to have Visas before we could fly .
And he's meant to be leaving tomorrow ....

Ben managed to fly to America and he's got a criminal record as long as yer arm ..... including the murder of Heather Trott

I've never forgiven Ben for murdering Heather ;(
That was unforgivable.
I liked Hev and Shirl as a duo

Also the useless Detective who questioned Dean said it was suspicious he had a one way ticket to NY. I’m almost certain you can’t travel one way to the US as a tourist. But yeah…all immaterial as his criminal record should have prevented him from flying out in the first place.

People who walk past their perfectly good kettles in their perfectly good kitchen to buy a cup of stewed tea in a cafe (that they don't drink)

Work ( apart from Bradley and for a brief period Lauren) is in the Square and a huge % are self employed

You don't go outside the Square for your new partner , you cop off with your neighbours

There is always a house/flat to rent or someone will put you up in their elastic house .

No issues parking near an Underground Station

No-one has plans for Christmas or Hallowe'en until The Vic Landlord decides to have an event , then they decorate , do food , get costumes and everyone piles in
Ditto Christmas Day weddings . Everyone rolls up .

They never seem to do any bloody work do they

Another crazy thing has always been how market stall holders can make a living (especially these days - how many people is Martin supporting?). I can remember back in the 80s when Pete Beale was running that fruit and veg stall and he was always boasting about how much money he had!

I was thinking the other day about who Martin is supporting - I can never remember the names of Stacey's kids - Hope? Arthur? (he said he'd look after Kush's child), maybe Ruby's child? Lily isn't getting support from Ryan anymore and both Arthur and Lily call Martin 'Dad'.

He surely has to give Stacey some money too and presumably throw some cash in Bec's direction every now and then. On top of that he is paying Sharon rent.

Not to worry though, he is able to fly to Australia to see Michelle without any mention of money at all and support himself while he's there and pay Shrimpy (or whoever it was) to cover his stall as well.

And why he went to Australia when Sharon was already there is mind boggling. You'd think Michelle, recovering from an operation, wouldn't mind a guest at a time, but nope she has instead to entertain two guests and a toddler after her operation.

You never see Martin going to the cash and carry early doors do you. ( or wherever they get the fruit and veg from these days ?)
I don't remember Pete being that wealthy , but I guess Kathy always worked maybe they had more customers? I know Pauline and Arthur were always skint and he had the allotment for their veggie needs!

Although Martin never moans about money and just got back from Oz , so he must be doing well I suppose
Money , business and general day to day stuff is airbrushed and don't get me started on the Arches which hasnt been updated ( or even has cars in it ) for a long time

A big operation like that , then Albie and a depressed Sharon appear and then Martin as well! Again , no mention of cost ( it's a lot to fly to Australia ) or what they lived on over there

Do you know who else never does any work ? Sonia !! For a nurse she can rock a short uniform, but you never see her in the GP practice.
Reiss hasn't done much either.
It's true, none of them put in much effort but they all seem to have lots of money.

My OH used to travel to America regularly and said the same about not being able to go on a one way ticket, you have to show your return. I had completely forgotten Dean had a criminal record - so had the writers apparently.

He wouldn't be bailed as he'd be seen as a flight risk (although... yeh, it's EastEnders) so he'll quietly moulder away in jail until the writers need him again.

Martin seems to be cashing it in or broke as the plot requires - didn't he go to work in Germany a year or two ago to earn extra dosh when Stacey was broke? I think that might have been his break for Strictly. I can't imagine what use he was to Michelle out in Aus.

Oh yes. Germany.
The new ' go to ' place to work with Keegan and Ricky and Tiff.
Or Portugal and have a job with Grant! As Billy did.
I do remember Martin appearing with lots of cash a while back from Germany. Where does he live ?
He has a lot of children who call him dad even if he isn't.
Alfie was renting one of Jack's places and he comes and goes and isn't in the bookies any more , so dunno how he pays his way either .

Didn't Martian go to work in Turkey (because they're just crying out for a middle aged fresh produce vendor to schlep over and do some building work ...)

Liam went off to Germany , Rickaaay ( the Original) is there and making fortunes

The Vic , The Albert , Peggys all seem to make enough money to keep them in business .

They don't seem to have :

Charity Shops
PoundShops
Turkish Barbers
Greggs/equiv
Coffee shop ( Kathys had take away cups though)
A Supermarket (even a Metro type).
Post Office

Oh yes Martin went to Turkey not Germany!
They are ' jet setters 'this lot , despite not working that much.
Ruby's baby has never been mentioned at all :(
No idea what happened there.
I thought the new set they made would have different shops , but seems it's still mostly eateries and the pubs. The GP surgery isn't shown much and that looked new and sparkly at one stage. The bookies is still there , but mostly anything that is worthwhile they need to leave the square and we all know they don't like that much !

And they all seem to leave via City Airport no matter where they fly to .!

Yes Ruby and her baby , though Martin didn't know and I;m guessing she hasn't enlightened him.

Yes, it's never Gatwick or Heathrow is it!

No, I suppose Ruby is going it alone with the baby, I can imagine she is out now ? No idea.
Although I can't remember what she went away for , but I can remember Stacey being involved.
Which is where she met Eve.
They all end up in prison eventually.. lol

When Bex went travelling I’m sure she said Aunty Michelle gave her the money so maybe Chelle is rolling in cash and subsidised Martin’s stay in Oz.

EE is def unrealistic on so many levels, especially when it comes to money. I also find it funny that 99% of wedding receptions, birthday parties etc happen in The Vic. Between them, Sharon, Ian and Phil alone have been married 15 times to various people and they keep retuning to the Vic. Surely you’d want a different venue after say wedding no.3😂

Ruby was arrested but we never heard if she went to prison? Presumably she will turn up with Mini-Mart soon enough. Another mouth for Martin to feed although Ruby was quite wealthy.

I just read somewhere that Johnny Allen is coming back from the dead too. Maybe Ruby is due to be released from prison then?

You have to apply for an ESTA and you need to say where you are going and when you return, I don't think you can just turn up and not leave? Although the tourist visa last two years but no return ticket is dodgy.

Google is telling me you can stay in America for 90 days on a tourist visa.
