When I worked in NYC for a year when I was 22/23 I had to get a visa, I think it was sponsored by the company I worked for at the time or I just applied. My best friend was from there which is partly why I did it.

You can’t work on a tourist visa or if you do it’s illegal work. You do have to do the Esta every time you visit.

My friend’s teenage daughter and her boyfriend lived there for either a year or 6 months and both worked but her mum (my other best friend) is half American on her mum’s side and has been living in UK on indefinite leave to remain status for years and has an American passport. I can’t recall if her DD was allowed an American passport too. She looked into getting dual nationality but it’s expensive and complex and we then fell out so I have no idea if she ever got it done, her own mum should’ve done this originally but don’t know why she never did it).

Johnny and Ruby Allen. Oooh fireworks 🎇! I always liked the actress who played Ruby, wasn’t she in a scrap with Stace?

They do need a bit of fresh blood in EE. (Not an another murder!)

Was surprised at Phil’s words of wisdom to George last Thursday (not seen current one yet), the regret part was/is so true! Did not expect that from him.

Silly Ben actor messing about in real life means he’s gone.

And Jay and the sex worker uni woman, is he staying and being a dad now?

Billy, Honey and kids all seem to be very much on the periphery now as does Alfie.

Ruby became a good character. There was a major falling out with Stace involving stolen money (and Martin). I think she'd be out of jail by now. Did we ever know that she was actually pregnant? She told Martin she was, but she lied about pretty much everything.

Alfie really has been sidelined, surely he's bound to get back with Kat in the near future though.

@GloriousintheArctic Ruby was defo pregnant when she was carted off to jail but never told Martin. She took one final pregnancy test that confirmed she was pregnant and I think was clutching it as she was whisked away in a police car

So I'd expect in a few years for either the child or ruby to return to face off with him!

You can definitely see the Kat/Alfie romance start up again from last Thursday or Wednesday's episode.

I don't know how they think it works out in real life though... back and forwards!

It's a real shame because they've got some good characters, but some not so good now.

Ee is only on.mon -wed this week with Wed being the hour long.

I read that the wed hour long isn't going on I player in the morning

Yes I read last week it was the .anniversary of Lucy's death.

Alfie would definitely like to get back with Kat, and they're living together now so it seems pretty much inevitable!

I'll have to record Wednesday's, I would like to see any Lucy anniversary stuff but don't want to watch Yolande and the creepy pastor.

I’ve read fan speculation that Lucy may appear as a ghost in Wednesday’s episode. Who knows exactly, but I know that there’s some kind of marking during Wednesday’s episode that it’s been ten years since she died.

Maybe she'll team up with Keanu's ghost and start their own series!!

What did the ben actor do in real life to deserve getting kicked off in such a rubbish way. No one's even mentioning him now....

It’s all pretty mysterious about Max Bowden, I guess we’ll never know. But it’s rumoured he had a quick dalliance during a party on the Elstree set a year ago with someone who used to be on Love Island.

Like I’ve said on here before, Jessie Wallace has been given chance after chance but who knows what goes on behind the scenes.

Arrived late for work after being on tge booze the night before apparently. Repeatedly. I read that on a previous thread.

Speaking of Jessie Wallace, I remember reading a post on here saying the poster had seen her in a pub on a night out and she was exactly the same as the character Kath. Said you’d want to give her a wide berth.

I think Max B had been in a bad place for a while, and I think he just ran out of 'second chances' with the producers, I don't think it was just one incident.

With Jessie I would almost be disappointed if she wasn't like Kat!

There was a trailer with weird things happening like the Quenn Vic "Time Bell" clanging and the gate to the Square gardens slamming shut then opening again.

Then they all went outside to see Lucy's Ghost standing judgily on a roof

EE have done some really good trailers in their days .

Speaking of seeing EE actors in pubs, way back when Matt Di Angelo was in the show the first time round I saw him playing pool in a pub with his mates. He was very quiet and unassuming (and very easy on the eye!)

Years ago , DH and I saw Billy Murphy ( Johnny Allen) in M&S . He was sweeping along in a long black coat , I remember thinking He's far too short to be a Copper He's 5'8" according to Google .

Lots of ex The Bill wander over to Eastenders , but Ruby wandered from EE to The Bill .

I've never met or seen anyone famous.
It must be weird if you do and people say they look different, shorter or taller or slimmer than they imagine or look on tv.
There was a photo of Matt on Facebook with his family and they are good looking!
I can imagine his nice.

Where did Jean and Harvey (Jarvey?!) go?
Was on holiday last week so I binged watch all the episodes in one go and must’ve missed bits…

Can’t believe Jade played a part in getting Dean locked up! (She’s still a terrible actor though). Felt sorry for her hearing all those things about him.

Jean took off to see Big Mo or something after
Dean accused her of tampering with Jade's medication ( when it was actually him)
Harvey didn't go with her.
She is back quicker than I thought she would be.
Nice of the overcrowded Slater house to take her in though , but then Eve has moved out now so a bit of space there I guess!
