Yeah he walked in on them at the end of today’s episode. Maybe he’ll end up covering for them. It was a bloody stupid idea of Stacey’s to try and get the necklace but this whole thing has been silly since the beginning.

Makes me wonder what the writers have in store next year for their 40th anniversary next Feb.
The flash forwards was different and had people speculating, but it has turned a bit silly.
The perfect concreting they did by hand over the body was the worst. Not a speck of dust on any of them.
If I were Linda's family , I'd be questioning why she behaved like that over a meat thermometer.
She'll probably wriggle out of it , but it's not normal behavior and would have people asking her why etc.
It was losing the necklace in the cafe with the body that sent Denise over the edge originally!
Jack will probably help them both I suppose 🙄

GloriousintheArctic · 02/04/2024 13:22

I agree @the80sweregreat the flashforward was great but it has got silly. But I will forgive it if Dean goes down for it. Johnny's a lawyer, presumably he'll know what type of 'evidence' he needs to plant. The Six didn’t do a very good job with that concrete did they!

No surprises about the creepy pastor.

Southeastdweller · 02/04/2024 13:30

To me it jumped the shark a little on Boxing Day when none of them called the police, then the daft concreting, then Dee having a breakdown even though she didn’t kill anyone and she made a miraculous recovery after just one week. But hopefully I’m wrong about Linda leaving and taking the flak (though that would tie in with the silliness). Dean being blamed would be a very satisfying twist!

“Well TBF 80s they won't tell you there's a Body Under Your Patio - we all know how easy it is to move a body in the middle of the night , dig a hole and throw a dead dog on the top , then either pack the earth or neatly cement it in -mixed perfectly just in a plastic tarp with a watering can and a shovel. without anyone noticing”

… and all done with high heels on! 😆

At least Dee and Stacey were more appropriately dressed this time for the Big Dig Up (🙄) before Mr Big Shot rumbled them.

I have just been watching the Andy Hunter episodes! Yes he was an old skool “proper villain”, then we had Johnny Allen.

Totally agree on the dead body in cafe storyline is one big joke.
And the pastor is a gaslighting creep.

We are on holiday next week so kind of gutted to be missing all the action 😂

Meredusoleil · 03/04/2024 08:21

Just came on to say I thought it was Johnny who was watching Stacey and Denise go into the caff, not Jack!

But also, omg what a shrivelling mess Yolande is turning into over that pastor creep! I really hope Denzel notices what's happening and beats the shit out of him for her!

We need Patrick back. Can't believe they've all pissed off at the same time, Kim, Howie, kids AND Patrick. Especially given Dee was in hospital ffs!

It just occurred to me that Yolande's prayer of forgiveness the other day, was almost like admitting her guilt. She needs to leave that church and report the pastor to the police (after secretly filming him for evidence).

Mrsjayy · 03/04/2024 08:34

Yolande isn't naive she's been around I don't understand why she didn't see what the pastor was about. He's a creepy fecker!

Mrsjayy · 03/04/2024 08:41

@NowNumber5 did Andy Hunter initially work for Johnny Allen?

NowNumber5 · 03/04/2024 09:02

@Mrsjayy this bit is somewhat blurry for me too.
They seemed familiar with each other but I don’t think Andy worked for him, no. I think they both had ties with ‘The Firm’ (😂 wiki tells me this was a very powerful and feared crime organisation in the 80s) at some point.

Mrsjayy · 03/04/2024 09:05

Ah yes "The Firm" they were both members😂 I always thought Andy Hunter took over from Johnny Allen .

NowNumber5 · 03/04/2024 09:13

I watched the AH thrown over the bridge episode just last week. I was surprised Johnny did it himself, thought these gangland bosses didn’t like getting their hands dirty!
It was EE’s 20th anniversary episode. (Can’t believe we’re heading for the 40th anniversary in less than a year)
Those were the good old EE days, prior to that, we’d just had Dirty Den finished off by Chrissie episode. I love Chrissie - hope she makes a comeback!

Mrsjayy · 03/04/2024 09:44

My god was all that the 20th Aniversay.!

GloriousintheArctic · 03/04/2024 10:06

I don't think I liked the gangster related stuff in EastEnders, but Johnny Allen was at least fairly believable.

I guess the Creepy Pastor storyline is being set up that he will will set off rumours to blame Yolande. But he obviously has a reputation as the woman Yolande fell out with (can't remember her name) indicated he had had 'affairs' before. I wonder if the affairs were actually him sexually harrassing his congregation.

You'd think Stacey and Denise would at least have the sense to lock the cafe door. They would never have been able to dig around for that necklace anyway, would they really put their hands in there!

Southeastdweller · 03/04/2024 10:47

The gangster stuff always bored me - EE is at its best when focusing on credible drama that doesn’t tip over to farce.

Sharon is arrested next week for Keanu’s murder.

Mrsjayy · 03/04/2024 10:58

I just finished yesterday's well that's Jack involved he's definitely going to be on their side and protect them, I wonder if it's going to be like a Mexican stand off and see who goes Daahn😂

That Pastor is so creepy I fear he will have yolandes name tarnished.

OH ! Phill will call in Ritchie I'm sure.

the80sweregreat · 03/04/2024 11:05

I liked Sharon and Phil together. Sad it's now war , although she was reasonable yesterday about Albie. Only because she needs him on side I suppose !
I like seeing Ritchie on screen. She's a cool one.

Eastie77Returns · 03/04/2024 12:52

I love Ritchie. The always on call, retainer lawyer par excellence. I wonder if she bothers with any other clients as the Mitchells have kept her pretty busy with constant murders/kidnappings/custody battles/property deals.

I read online speculation that Denise and Stacey team up to frame Jack. Seems unlikely but I’d love it and would be a good twist. I just don’t know how he’s kept his job over the years. He only ever seems to do any work when one of his family or friends in his trouble and then he’s always doing something dodgy to help them. The rest of the time he’s drifting around the square, the Vic and in and out of Stacey’s bed.

GloriousintheArctic · 03/04/2024 13:10

I guess it will be the usual Walford scenario with the police arresting everyone on rotation - whose turn is it this week.

One of the least credible parts of the Six storyline is the lack of CCTV. The Vic would surely have cameras outside even if not inside. I don't remember any of them wiping it, or saying it wasn't working? They have been transporting bodies and sneaking in and out of the cafe without ever being on film.

the80sweregreat · 03/04/2024 13:27

Spoilers .. on a spoiler thread ( I know lol)

I thought today's one wasn't too bad , even if it was the usual coincidences that wouldn't happen in real life.
I'm oddly relived that Dee is reunited with her necklace , although you'd never wear again would you!
Jack is a plank, but at least he tried to help.
I did wonder if he'd leave them too it at one stage.
At least Bernie wasn't alone finding the body , but it'll be sad when she discovers it's her bro :(

Southeastdweller · 03/04/2024 13:29

I got the impression from Bernie’s reaction that she recognised the corpse as being Keanu? Then I got wondering how long it takes a corpse to fully decompose.

OP posts:
milesmachine · 03/04/2024 13:32

I really liked today's episode and I was rooting for Jack. He seemed so sincere in his love for Denise and professed he would do anything for her...

Bernie didn't recognise it was Keanu but I did giggle at her going on about the smell in The Albert. I think tomorrow it'll be revealed who it is.

I hope Stacey/denise and Jack stay close as I quite like the team up

And dean is going doooowwwwnn! Just a question of ...for what? Johnny framing him is a good catch as he was in the vic the night it happened

the80sweregreat · 03/04/2024 13:47

For a minute I didn't think he had got the necklace .. I'm seriously glad he did because Denise didn't kill him!
Dean is getting on my nerves now ..
Stealing the charity money is another low.
I hope that someone frames him for this too.
Poor Bernie :(
All alone and only Alfie and Felix to help her once they discover who the body is
The six will have to pay lip service..
I wonder if Karen will return
Two children both murdered .. it's too tragic

the80sweregreat · 03/04/2024 18:39

Loved Chelsea telling Dean his fortune today !
.. go Chelsea
