Thanks for new thread! I think Eddie is playing George, I don’t think there’s any new information to share. If anything he should testify against Eddie but I doubt he will.

Exactly what I came on to say!

I think Eddie just jumped on the fact that George said he was looking into his birth mother and found nothing, to then make up a pack of lies just to keep a carrot dangling in front of George and in order to get him to do what he wants in the meanwhile (defend him at the trial).

I also think Gloria was looking apprehensive as she knows Eddie is lying about there being any info and he's just saying whatever he has to, to make George do what he needs.

As soon as Eddie got the photo out I knew he was going to use it to manipulate George!

Eddie is a nasty man and I also think Gloria is frightened of him.

I was wondering if we had already seen Whitney's departure last week when Zack was back in the square. I wondered if she'd just never come back and that would be it but it seems we have a bit longer to wait now.

I agree that Eddie is trying to manipulate George, I hope George sees through it. I doubt he kept any useful information.

I liked Gloria to start with but she's now just doing Eddie's bidding, although you can't blame her really as Eddie is very intimidating. It wouldn't be surprising if he had 'given her a slap' from time to time. Maybe Gloria will come good though.

It was good to be back in Walford with storylines which make sense and decent acting.

That woman who ran out of the courtroom looked younger than George, so why would he think she's his mum? Maybe she's his sister.

George should go to police to tell them about the blackmail- so they get a search warrant and get the photos and info. And send Eddie down!

I don't think she looked younger than George. She had some white hairs for a start! But then George does look younger than his years, so yes, maybe she is his sister?

I agree the woman didn't seem to be old enough to be George's mother, she looked fairly close to his age so maybe his sister.

I had no idea what was going on with the court case last night. Why is a murder case being tried at magistrates court, and why Walford magistrates court, given Eddie doesn't live in Walford. Why weren't they at Crown Court, and why did they start proceedings with statements from charities and his son, made no sense to me.

Also Why is Eddie allowed to walk around when he is accused of murder ? Is he on bail ?

I think all criminal cases start off in magistrates court, (caveat, not a lawyer).

I didn't realise they were in Walford magistrates court. Are they not from Bermondsey?

But some of the age differences are already ridiculous. Jade looks older than Dean and Ravi's daughter looks about 25 and she's supposed to be 13.

Is that right @Jarstastic - it seemed so odd and sort of 'casual' for the start of a murder trial.

I can't remember where Eddie and Gloria are from, Bermondsey may be right, but the signs behind them definitely said Walford Mag court.

I agree re Jade, she looks about 28!

I don’t recall them or George saying where they’re from, other than that they live on the Jasmine Allen estate, which of course is the fictitious place referenced many times in The Bill.

I'm not sure why I thought he was from south of the river. I've just looked him up and his first fight was in Canning Town. So maybe he's an east Londoner from the London Borough of Walford 😀

Oh I just looked up the Jasmine Allen estate (I've never watched the Bill) and it's in the London Borough of Canley which is like Tower Hamlets.

Wasn't Jack from the Bill? Confusing!

Poor George, his head must be all over the place.
