It's only Facebook gossip about Stacey .. however , this is EE where babies come and go
I hope it's not true

NoisyBrain · 23/03/2024 08:49

I wouldn’t put it past the writers to have Stacey pregnant. Everyone is super fertile on EE remember 😄

Except poor Sonia a 50 year old Sharon got pregnant before Sonia !

Fantasea · 23/03/2024 12:56

Yes, how are all the women in Albert Square so fertile apart from Sonia?

The situation with the hospital doctor wanting to see Jade's tablets feels rather contrived. Surely he would have started her on strong IV antibiotics rather than insisting he sees the box of tablets first as she's clearly very ill. It's such a sad story, seeing Dean selfishly putting his own daughter at risk is awful but he's acting it well.

Mrsjayy · 23/03/2024 13:02

Yes a consultant would just whack jade full of IV antibiotics and then check.jades medication through the gp.

the80sweregreat · 23/03/2024 17:50

Matt does play Dean really well
Menacing and just evil
I loath the character and feel for Jade

GloriousintheArctic · 24/03/2024 09:05

We said the same re Jade's antibiotics, she is a transplant patient and clearly very ill, she would get IV antibiotics. She would also surely also have been monitored closely when she got a chest infection, not just chucked some tablets and told to get on with it.

I agree Matt plays Dean very well. But it doesn't work for me because Dean is one-note-evil. There is no light and shade. It would work far better if he was vile but loyal to Jade. Ravi is a far better 'villain' because there's some nuance.

Eastie77Returns · 24/03/2024 09:14

I think the nuance with Dean is that he truly believes he loves his daughter and perhaps does (granted a very twisted form of love) and so isn’t completely evil. And he has talked about Jade suffering because of his bad deeds so on some deep level he knows he has done wrong (re. Linda). Maybe there is scope for redemption.

I think Jean has worked out what he has been doing with the medication and even she said “I know you do” when he said how much he loves Jade. So she can see the other side of this very wicked man.

Mrsjayy · 24/03/2024 09:31

Dean loves the idea of Jade doesn't he ? It's all about what Jade can do for him.

Southeastdweller · 24/03/2024 09:43

I agree with Eastie that Dean genuinely believes he loves Jade. I also felt we saw the vulnerable and very human side of him last month when his date went wrong. I think his loneliness, urge for control, and capacity for evil is what’s driving him to tamper with Jade’s medication. It’s very good writing they’re doing for him, capturing all those sides of his personality.

GloriousintheArctic · 24/03/2024 10:16

I agree @Eastie77Returns re when Jean said "I know you do". And when he said Jade's illness was his punishment Jean also said "for things you didn't do?" So I agree she is probably onto him. Presumably at some point he'll get Soap Justice.

But I can't feel any sympathy for him. He's lonely for a good reason, he made the decision to return to the Square and pile on the torture to Linda, of course he isn't going to be able to build relationships there. I don't think he's redeemable, I find the character almost unwatchable.

milesmachine · 24/03/2024 10:42

I'm a transplant patient (albeit not lung). You literally are seen weekly in the months following a transplant and any hint of illness sees the medical team on high alert

But I gave up thinking Eastenders portrayed any hint of realism with transplant stories after the Ferreira family kidney storyline (if anyone remembers back then!)

Yes, I agree Jean is still onto him for sure but he'll mess with her head and make her doubt herself and think she's going mad. I really hope Harvey fights her corner and backs her up

milesmachine · 24/03/2024 10:46

Also did anyone notice in the last scene where she's sitting with him, the camera lingered on her hand on his knee and it then slipped down between them... I reckon she's nicked the pre-filled tablet pack to check it as realises there's something incriminating in there

The camera really made a point of showing her hand disappearing for a second or two

@milesmachine thanks for confirming re monitoring after a transplant, I hope you're doing well. I do indeed remember the Ferreira kidney fiasco although I have tried to bleach it from my brain. That was a low point for the show.

I am not sure if Harvey will back Jean up, he seemed to swallow what Dean was implying earlier, that Jean was becoming 'unwell'.

Good spot re 'the hand' - you're right they showed that for a reason.

Bluesandwhites · 24/03/2024 19:04

I'm backtracking with this, but does anyone remember baby Cherry Moon, Alfie's baby with Hayley? Hayley disappeared, leaving baby Cherry with Kat, it seems she was quietly written out . . . unless she comes back in 2034 as a teenager !

the80sweregreat · 24/03/2024 19:13

I remember Cherry and Hayley
The actress who played Hayley left under a bit of a cloud I think and not sure what became of the baby ? Alfie was her dad.

Mrsjayy · 24/03/2024 20:05

What happened with the other transplant story I did watch and remember the Frerarias but I can't remember any kidney story.

Mrsjayy · 24/03/2024 20:08

Kat took Cherry to Hayley a few years ago but I don't know where Hayley went but It was just after EE came back to filming during the pandemic.

the80sweregreat · 25/03/2024 12:24

Poor Jean and Jade today :(
Desn is such a danger to both of them

Viewer23 · 25/03/2024 19:15

Harvey is the worst! Well, obviously Dean takes the biscuit but Harvey is pretty unhelpful.

RocketsMagnificent7 · 25/03/2024 19:31

Surely Dean couldn't have discharged Jade against medical advice? At the very least social services would be visiting.

Southeastdweller · 26/03/2024 06:57

Sharon returns next week and Keanu’s body is found:

Ooo I wonder who will be blamed for keanu, the 6 are unravelling so they are not do loyal anymore.

Southeastdweller · 26/03/2024 07:50

I’m really surprised the body’s going to be found after a few months, I thought it wouldn’t happen until the 40th anniversary next Feb.

Fans complain stories go on too long this might be a good conclusion although they might drag the investigation out.
