Posted too soon! I love Lauren, she's so open and honest and spot on with her judgement of the other blokes. I have a few friends like her, they'd give you the coat off their back and they would also ruin your night out by being a total pain in the arse.

I really can't stand Ben and feel sorry for his partner who wants children. He doesn't seem genuine at all, I fear the Mr Bean cousin was right.

Yaas! The Mr Bean cousin was bang on the money. That Ben is a fame fucker. Which is ridiculously unfair on his poor wife. Also a massive missed opportunity. The 30s people who want to settle down are the best bet for genuine relationships. Was there not one decent bloke who applied?

And of course Jayden is a bad 'un. His brother was an utter turd.

You've got to wonder about the parents!

This series has too many uneven couples. Too many spouses who seem to be there to make the other spouse better. Natalie was meant to help Collins have his first relationship, Cassandra is meant to help Tristan feel better about himself (and he is meant to help her through grief), Lucinda needs to help Tim be less lonely and isolated. It feels like a really unhealthy relationship model that you are not supposed to be looking out for your own needs.

Completely agree with this, plus it always seems to be the woman in these relationsips who is there to "fix" the man, not the other way around

Floatinginvacherin · 09/03/2024 10:40

Yes!

My only tiny flicker of sympathy for the utter bamboozling Collins is that poor Natalie is in fairly early stage grief and that probably makes her involvement in this wrong whoever she is paired with. But he is doing absolutely nothing to be any sort of partner to her and ‘teaching him’ is the role she was stuck with by the ixperts.

Basically I guess an extreme example of that supposed willing subjugation of her own needs.

AhBiscuits · 09/03/2024 11:20

There are a whole lot of shit men in this series, absolute losers.

ArcaneWireless · 09/03/2024 13:24

Collins is like Jaz in two doors down.

And although Jaz is irritating, at least I like him.

As for Jayden’s revenge shag? Christ. He might as well have shagged her ma.

This grips my shit too.

Women are not support animals.

I'm not yet convinced that Lucinda is a real person. She seems like a character from Motherland. I'm sure she's a nice person but she'd drive me mad. Jayden looks like a staffie.

Skiphopbump · 09/03/2024 17:45

As soon as I saw Jayden with his hair down I thought of the Lion from Wizard of Oz

Well yes. Although don't put that idea in his head ...

The whole Jayden thing has made me wonder. As a punishment he made his then GF watch him have sex with one of her mates. He used sex as an ultimatum - 'You do this or I leave you'.

Eventually, the two of them split up (no surprise there), but are the ex and her friend still friends? I doubt I could continue a friendship with any of my close friends after that.

ArcaneWireless · 09/03/2024 18:29

I can’t get my head round it at all.

It is unusual. I’ll give him that 🤨

My mate could do one for agreeing to that. He would have had his jotters spit spot tae.

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 09/03/2024 19:08

Tristan would have been a much better pairing for Nat, and Cassandra deserves someone like last season’s Duncan.

saturnspinkhoop · 09/03/2024 19:36

Certainly doesn’t look to be a Duncan this year.

To be honest, I’m not enjoying it as much as last year. I preferred the characters in last year’s. But maybe I’m being unfair.

dapsnotplimsolls · 09/03/2024 19:37

Sex-pest woman was horrible last year.

QueSyrahSyrah · 09/03/2024 20:00

Still catching up, currently on 1st dinner party.

What is with this fluffy back-combed eyebrows trend on the Ladies. Is this a thing now?

QueSyrahSyrah · 09/03/2024 20:06

Also Jack: 'drama just seems to follow me around'.

Wonder why that could possibly be? Snek.

NotDonna · 09/03/2024 22:07

I’m wondering if it was Jayden who persuaded the friend to have sex with him or if it was the ex who persuaded her. He wasn’t very clear. She’s the one I’m feeling sorry for - totally used by both parties. And how could the ex allow that to happen with her friend? Weird friendship & weird relationship. What kind of man comes up with such monstrous ideas in the first place? and then goes through with it 🤯 I’ve three daughters and they have incredibly low opinions of boys/men and these programmes don’t help - they’ve a great dad but he’s (obv) a different generation.

OoohLovelySlippers · 09/03/2024 22:24

Yes I must admit that overall I'm underwhelmed by this year's contestants. Remember though that they shove a few new contestants in half-way through.

I totally agree. Harrison too! By ‘prefer’ I suppose I meant that last year’s lot seemed more watchable. Only early in the series though, I need to give this more of a chance.

Oh my god he does look like a staffie! Best description of him.

Newestname002 · 11/03/2024 12:07

@BatshitCrazyWoman

I've gone right off Richard Sleazebag

Yes - I agree. By all means enjoy everything which is freely given (including intimacy) by your partner but remember it's not all about you. Remember she has children - and perhaps others in her life - who might not want to know (or she might not want them to know) how often you had sex each night. That is something personal between you. I'm surprised he wouldn't know that. 🌹

3luckystars · 11/03/2024 16:13

Jack is actually a tomato, he is lurid red/pink. How are they not saying anything about this?? He is a revolting man, this years Harrison except worse.

Regarding the Jayden thing, I just cannot believe how her friend agreed to do this? It was obviously all consensual or he wouldn’t have said it on TV.

maybe the ex was into it and convinced the friend to do it too. We will never truly know, but there is definitely more to that story, his ex must have really hurt him to do something so awful and just WEIRD!!

Brilliant TV!! Is there anywhere I can catch up to Australia?
