Jayden… I just can’t 🤢 what he did was so twisted! And does that mean that if she hurts him he’ll want to hurt her back to get even? He’s really showing his age!

Appalonia · 07/03/2024 10:08

Thanks for new thread!

NotDonna · 07/03/2024 10:22

I’d have to leave Jayden at that revelation. It’s just too fucked up!

murasaki · 07/03/2024 10:25

It will be interesting to see what the ixperts have to say about it.

Is it more confessions week tonight then a dinner party Monday then the couch session? Or straight to the couch on Monday?

Virgo1958 · 07/03/2024 10:48

So called 'experts' are annoying trying to justify these tasks when they're blantany just there to create drama.

Skiphopbump · 07/03/2024 10:58

I’m interested to know how old Jayden was when it happened.

If he was say 16/17 at the time then you would hope he’s now matured and wouldn’t contemplate doing it again.

I suppose that might make a bit of a difference. It's still horrific behaviour though and needs calling out by the ixperts. Who will have a busy time of it, what with that, Richard, Jack and Collins to castigate.

I'll be intrigued to see if Timothy and Lucinda actually get credit for not playing their stupid divisive game.

sashagabadon · 07/03/2024 11:16

That task put me right off Richard. He’s basically old enough to be their grandfather in some cases. And he should have refused to do it on that basis alone.
and his lack of emotional intelligence in not putting Andrea first was most peculiar for an older person who has usually developed some over the years.

Villagetoraiseachild · 07/03/2024 11:52

Thanks for the new thread@browneyes77 .

Am guessing that the ranking task was created by a man on the production team.

Ideally, it's an opportunity to reassure your partner that they are the most attractive woman or man in the ixperiment.
But it is very telling how people respond to the task.

browneyes77 · 07/03/2024 12:04

Yes, very telling indeed!

I completely respect Tim’s approach to that task.

An older man ranking younger women based off looks, is both distasteful and weird.

But frankly, ranking people based off looks anyway, is childish and serves no real positive purpose. It’s a recipe for chipping away at someone’s self confidence. Especially if their confidence in their looks, wasn’t great to begin with.

Even if your partner put you at the top, you may still look at how he’d ranked the others and how they look in comparison to you. Especially if it showed he had a clear type that was different to you. So even if he tells you he finds you the most attractive, if you’re a brunette but the others he ranks directly after you are all blondes, that’s going to make you question whether he’s telling the truth.

The problem is it leaves the spouses who are upset in a no win position. They can't really argue or resolve why they feel upset, they have to be a good sport and accept it or make things worse for themselves.

Richard types will say, and maybe genuinely think, they have just proven their integrity. More toxic folk will lean into the opportunity to make them feel insecure.

I'm sure nobody thinks they are indisputably the most attractive there (except of course Jack). Plus it's not that important, but we just don't want comparing.

Not everyone has the emotional intelligence to handle that task and it is upsetting to feel negatively compared to others in the close vicinity. That's all it proves, year after year. Nothing more constructive than that. They should skip it. What's even the point with a mix of ages and sexualities?

FriendofDorothy · 07/03/2024 13:01

Checking in so I don't lose the thread.

I think Jayden's mistake was saying that he didn't feel any remorse.

He could have played the whole thing so much better.

OoohLovelySlippers · 07/03/2024 13:21

Glad to see we are now having more posters agree that Jayden "weaponises sex" and is a bit "rapey".

To me, he's a psychopath and I could never be alone with him. It's like something a torturer would think up. I think he should be thrown off the show for that and I would have a real issue with the producers knowingly putting me alone with such a person.

I actually had a really horrible dream last night after hearing what he said. (Not helped by watching "The Push" about an abusive husband murdering his wife and also it being the 10yr anniv of me escaping my own abusive rship).

TinselAngel · 07/03/2024 13:38

On the first episode wasn't there a clip of somebody being chucked out at a commitment ceremony?

SinisterBumFacedCat · 07/03/2024 13:51

I can’t get my head around it at all with Jayden, it sounds like he asked a few of her friends so presumably some said no but knew what he was up to and one friend agreed, and agreed to being watched by the ex girlfriend? Did she think it was just a kinky thing or know it was a punishment? The whole thing is seriously WTF?!

wizzler · 07/03/2024 13:55

Jayden... I can get that there should be no secrets between husband and wife.. but he has known her a week... and he knew it was likely that she would be unimpressed .. so why oh why announce it on a tv show being beamed around the globe?

I'd rather know sooner than later if I was his wife.

See I was initially thinking it was the other bun boy - the slimey one with the teeth and "crazy" ex, but I really hope it's Jayden. I would find it seriously disturbing if he was allowed to stay.

I think he was proud of it 🤮

DaftFlerken · 07/03/2024 14:23

I may have missed something but was the sleeping with a friend idea Jayden's or was it maybe suggested by his ex?

Jayden's idea.

DaftFlerken · 07/03/2024 14:32

that really is awful, very vindictive

BatshitCrazyWoman · 07/03/2024 14:43

I agree that the vindictiveness that Jayden evidenced there would have me leaving, if I were Eden. Vile. Hope he gets chucked off.

JellyBeanFactory · 07/03/2024 14:55

Thanks for new thread @browneyes77
I am behind due to a certain very large dog show for 4-days! Will have massive binge when I return next week!

Deathraystare · 07/03/2024 15:01

I am glad Tim did not play that photo game. Richard was horrible. He really enjoyed discussing the younger girls to his wife, practically salivating. It shows up the extreme immaturity of a lot of the blokes, I feel.
