I binged my way through the first two weeks of episodes to get up to date.
The more I watch this programme the more I think the ixperts, specifically John, have sold themselves to the devils of the production team.
Not just that they put the most unlikely combinations together - I.e they’ll say that opposites attract and then talk about another couple being so similar they have so much common ground.
it’s also that some people really have no business being there, either because they’re steeped in grief (woman who was matched with What A Gay! Collins or they’re manipulative gaslighters (Ben, Jack ).
Out of all the thousands who applied I can’t believe this lot were the best they could do. I know it’s about the draaaama but I think that by choosing people who make great telly but not great spouses they risk losing the respect and the attention of the viewing audience .
The only people I would have chosen are Lucinda , Cass, Andrea, Tim the Younger and maybe Johno.
The others are either too needy or too narcissistic or too damaged by life/ past relationships and seemingly unwilling to change .
Yet, here i am, a a massive hypocrite as I’m fully intending to watch the rest of the series .
I want to thank everyone on here ( except the poster who called Andrea Fiona from Shrek- that was mean) for drawing me back in. I swerved last year as I was so disgusted by Bryce ( was that his name ?) who was allowed to gaslight with impunity but reading all your comments gave me FOMO so here I am again .
