You're pretty invested in Harry, Dark Plum!

RayonSunrise · 26/01/2024 23:05

It's a double edged sword being a good traitor in this game - you win, but you're revealed on a national stage as a lying untrustworthy shit who no-one should ever trust. 95k isn't a lot to carry that reputation around, unless you can make people so impressed with you they'll forgive anything...

I just don;t get this. You can't win the game unless you lie. That doesn't mean they are liars in real life.

MadeOfAllWork · 26/01/2024 23:07

catsareheroes · 26/01/2024 23:06

They didn't watch it live as the episode and the bonus ep were on BBC Sounds as soon as the final finished.

That’s what I meant, but it didn’t come across. I meant they watched it together.

Well that went along the most predictable route. I don't begrudge Harry the win. It was a nice touch that Ed Gamble called Jaz the People's Champ on Uncloaked. It was frustrating that Jaz and Andrew didn't go for Harry earlier, but having seen Uncloaked I don't think they would have managed to get Evie on side which they would have needed. No idea why Jaz spoke to Mollie instead.

They went VERY gently on Mollie during that interview.

Yeah - I was frustrated that Jaz didn’t try earlier. He may well have managed to figure things out but that’s pretty pointless if you just sit on it.

Stowickthevast · 26/01/2024 23:08

I think Jaz didn't have the confidence of his convictions. He seemed surprised that he was so completely right.

That and not getting enough people on side.

It was interesting on Uncloaked that Evie said she never thought it was Harry. She suspected Mollie more than Harry. So I don't think Jaz & Andrew could have persuaded her to vote for him even if they had tried to.

GoldLash · 26/01/2024 23:08

Harry played a blinder

No one knows how they're going to play being a traitor

He clearly gets on well with people so just learnt on the job really as we all would

It's fascinating really how well he did

JaneJeffer · 26/01/2024 23:08

Exactly @CaramelMac he would have been a useless traitor if he thought oh but what about poor Mollie! He played and won and did it brilliantly. I really liked Jaz but he didn't play the game as well as Harry!

DarkRipePlum · 26/01/2024 23:09

RayonSunrise · 26/01/2024 23:07

I wanted him to win.

Why should he feel bad about deceiving her, it’s a game she signed up for, he’s not in a boiler room scamming old people out of their life savings.

Just because I said if he did it would be because he felt bad, doesn’t mean I think he should feel bad. They are 2 different things. Employ some critical thinking & comprehension skills.

And if you look at my past posts from earlier this eve, you’ll see I sad he deserves to win before the programme barely even started. I also defended the fact he’s playing a game.

It's a game show 😂

Same as the weakest link and golden balls

I wouldn't be locking up my valuables if he was working/visiting my house.

TooOldForThisNonsense · 26/01/2024 23:10

Bloody Mollie totally blindsided by fancying Harry. Poor Jaz was robbed, but he needed to have spelled it out more clearly and slightly earlier.

RayonSunrise · 26/01/2024 23:10

OF COURSE a good traitor is a liar in real life! Where do you think they get to be so good at manipulating people?

Saying "it's just playing the game" is the same as believing a world class tennis player just rocks up with no extensive practice and wins a grand slam. It's been fascinating to watch proper psychopaths in action, but I'm amazed anyone thinks they're going to be lovely fluffy bunnies irl.

CaveMum · 26/01/2024 23:11

Claudia said on the Uncloaked Bonus that the Round Table that left her shaking was the one where they got Paul out.

MotherofGorgons · 26/01/2024 23:11

Surprised that Evie didn't suspect Harry. I thought she was getting smarter towards the end. So then even if Jaz had spoken to her, it would have been useless.

The women this season have been super disappointing, except Diane to some extent.

GoldLash · 26/01/2024 23:11

@WriterOfWrongs

Stop banging on with your 'critical skills'

'Employ some critical thinking & comprehension skills'

We are not in a Year 1 lecture on essay writing techniques

Anyone planning to watch the Aussie S 2 which will be shown on iplayer? last year's had brillliant strategy but crap production values and hosting

This is just starting on BBC 3, I’ve already watched it and really enjoyed it 👍🏻

Citrusandginger · 26/01/2024 23:12

Mollie mentioned at the dinner last night that she had been Ill for a lot of her childhood. It may explain why she seems so young and naive for her age. Bearing in mind she's only a [chronological] year younger than Harry.

You realise you can manipulate for good as well, yes? Being good at strategy doesn’t equate to having no morals. How do you think people become world champion chess players or business people?

Harry played an absolute blinder and deserved to win. I loved seeing him get stronger and stronger. Paul really underestimated Harry...they pretty much all underestimated Harry. I'm so glad he won, bloody brilliant!

Bizarre editing on it too. Where did the British guy suddenly appear from and why did we only hear him speak a couple of times?

I've heard the second series is awful but I'm obviously still going to watch it.

Iwantanapnow · 26/01/2024 23:13

Harry played a blinder. Good luck to him

Absolutely agree with the comment about the women. Jasmine was okay too but overall they were really weak.

Violahastings · 26/01/2024 23:13

It’s tricky… the whole POINT of the game
is to lie and deceive and cheat, and expect everyone around you to also be lying and deceiving and cheating.

But then I feel like would a good, decent with morals really be able to play a traitor so well without it breaking them 😂

I don’t know, Harry’s in the army and they drill it in to them to do what they’re ordered to do and not question it, so it was probably easier for him to concentrate on being a traitor and push any feelings of guilt aside.
