There's a case for arguing, as a faithful, that there is no point busting a gut to get traitors out because they will only be replaced. Therefore what they should aim to do is to identify the traitors, but keep quiet so the traitors don't perceive them to be dangerous, and ideally aim to encourage the traitors to murder the dimmer faithfuls as well as banishing them. Then you'd get towards the end game with a strong band of faithfuls who could pick off the traitors one by one.

True.
If jas had had Jasmine alongside him at the final it could have been so different.

Edited: I'd put 'evie or jasmine'... Jasmine was definitely the one he needed! She was super smart.

I do hope that by the time S3 comes around, the players pick up on a pattern I spotted just from watching the UK and US series 1, which is that the faithfuls left in the final are generally close to the remaining traitor and have blindly trusted them throughout (hence why it was beneficial to the traitor to keep them in), so those are the people you need to be suspicious of when it gets to the final.

That was the point that someone - Charlotte? - noticed in relation to Paul - that in a way it was odd that she was still in, and that that could probably only happen because she was close to one of the traitors and it was convenient to him to keep her there. Shame that no-one else picked up on that.

It would be nice to think Jas and Harry ended the game secretly having respect for the other in recognising that both had played well. It would be even nicer to think Harry recognised that Jas had the harder job and tbh played a blinder. He knew when he was shut down by the other faithfuls (shame on them!) that he'd get murdered if he kept pushing his opinion. To get to the final was quite an achievement.

All a big contrast to Mollie whinging that the game was 'horrible' and then storming off in tears 'oh fuck no! Boo hoo!'

Oh come on. Big emotions are one of the things that made the series so watchable. I shouted at my TV at that and I'm not playing! If nobody gave a shit in there it would be boring and we wouldn't watch it.

They should make it a rule in future series that there must always be a mix of men and women amongst the traitors. Therefore if the only woman traitor has been voted out, they must recruit another woman, and vice versa.

Twonewcats · 27/01/2024 11:17

NonPlayerCharacter · 27/01/2024 10:46

That's not why she voted Jas. She initially did work it out and changed her mind. She didn't vote Jas because of 100k, cameras etc. She voted Jas because she was so enslaved to Harry that it overrode the reason she did initially employ.

It really is that simple, and that complicated.

I didn't say that's why she voted him - but it's easy to sit at home with lots of info and say she was nuts for not working out all the intricacies.

We've also got to remember, we've seen all the competitors and their thoughts - she hasn't been privy to lots of the conversations.

LindorDoubleChoc · 27/01/2024 11:17

Twonewcats · 27/01/2024 10:38

and it has been said many times on these threads, when you are banished you do not know what happens afterwards - until it's aired.

I think it's amazing that everything was kept secret from everyone (all the banished and murdered traitors) for months. I can't get my head round how that all works. It's probably been covered somewhere on the threads but I haven't had time to read them all the way through.

Unfortunately that gives too much power to the faithfuls in narrowing down their banishment options. Would not work.

No thanks. There are very few women this series that would've been any good as a traitor.

Traitors should be chosen because they're the best option to fill that role at that point in the game, not for their gender.

FiveFoxes · 27/01/2024 11:23

I felt really sorry for Andrew on the abseil when he was hanging upside down.

How I laughed at smug Harry - who thought he was oh so brilliant at all the missions - being sick over the side of the boat.

We know this. We also know there was an edit.

I'm surprised so many people think this is new information.

Totally agree. People saying contestants will have ruined their reputation and hireability forever is ridiculous. It is a GAME. I was super invested in this series but honestly I'm already moving on with my life and deciding what to watch next like any normal person surely?

So sad to see how much people enjoy judging and putting people down. Absolutely crazy.

This. We will all move on and they’ll quickly be forgotten. How many do you remember from series 1 really? I only can think of Wilf, Meryl, and Amos and the latter is only cos he’s on morning television sometimes.

aSofaNearYou · 27/01/2024 11:25

I think they'd have a better chance at equal gender representation if they just started with two women and one man instead of always two men and one woman. Hopefully they do next year as they're aware people have been grumbling about it.

It would be good to see a young woman chosen, too, it feels like the only women they're going for is "surprising matriarch", whereas we've had a variety of male characters.

shreknjumps · 27/01/2024 11:25

It's Jaz with a Z.

Why can't anyone, including the players, spell their bloody names?!

shreknjumps · 27/01/2024 11:26

"They should make it a rule in future series that there must always be a mix of men and women amongst the traitors."

That would be so shit

They did have two women in the first series so I guess that's why they did it the other way round this time.

burnoutbabe · 27/01/2024 11:28

It seems a make female dynamic to be let down and hurt by a reveal they are a traitor.

Where it's been 2 males who were good mates and 1 was a traitor they seem far more "you bastard, good game" about it all and good friends afterwards.

I think Claudia and Ed are trying to get Mollie presenter as fine as the other option is she is to be pitied. Far better for her to be all "it's only a game and he played well" like everyone else seems to be doing.

I wonder of Johnny had been recruited if things would have been different in that Harry would NOT want to get him banished as fellow brothers in arms.

crabbyoldbat · 27/01/2024 11:28

One think I thought interesting from Uncloaked was Harry's acknowledgement of how he'd been lucky in several cases, such as the opportunity to grab the shield in the tunnels. Another he mentioned was that Zack could be relied upon to leap on any suggested theory and run with it, nay hound it to death, talking over everyone, being loud about it and never letting it lie.

It's true - Zack turned out to be one of his greatest allies!

I've been assuming his real name is Jasbir, but I can't find confirmation online. It makes it a pretty reasonable mistake even if he prefers the Z.

Alwaysanotherwine · 27/01/2024 11:29

i loved it! Jaz was spot on throughout and should have been much more vocal about Harry

At the end because he knew Harry was a traitor he had nothing to lose in voting for another banishment - ending game would have still saw harry take the money!

Surprised no one suggested Harry being a traitor purely on the final reaction or andrew - that reaked of someone taking someone down

Id have been happy or andrew won as he seemed genuine but i’m glad molly never won as she didn’t really do or say anything

Nope. It's been a theme. One of them wrote Charlot ffs 🤦🏽‍♀️ and it's the same with Mollie. It does my head in

"Always"? The last series started off with two female traitors and one male.

This started off with two males, and one female...before Miles was then recruited.

So that's one series each where either females or males have outnumbered the other.

Why are so many people getting their knickers in a twist over the genders of the traitors, rather than just enjoying the show

Harry's won a load of money for being the best at lying, the best at manipulating, the best at being two faced and the best at gas lighting.

The show is so messed up.

Sorry but what TV show did you think you were watching?
