Agree. Ross should have nominated Harry, as a final revengeful act.

Dotellhimpike · 25/01/2024 05:49

I have to agree with whoever said they are editing it so much to make Harry look like a bad guy that his comeuppance is going to make for a spectacular episode. That said, if he ends up winning it then I think it's because he played the game exactly how it should be played.

The joy of these shows though isn't just the watching of them, it's seeing how we all go a little crazy with the speculation, and take it too seriously, reading serial killer and psychopathy into every dirty look and sly whisper.

shearwater2 · 25/01/2024 05:53

They do - we don't, hopefully, having the benefit of the edited highlights.

shearwater2 · 25/01/2024 06:05

Ruminate2much · 25/01/2024 05:22

Me too. I'm still totally deflated by last night's episode. I got so disproportionately excited, then, oh poo!
I don't understand how anyone can be supporting Harry. I know he's playing well, in terms of potentially winning; but without any honour or decency whatsoever. He actually scares me. At least in series 1 (no spoilers) the traitors expressed guilt. What Harry did to Ross was just cruel.
Though Ross, bless him! I wish he'd just at least voted for Harry as his final flourish. Instead he went for Andrew. I think his emotions got the better of him when Andrew denied the 'elusive' comment. If only Ross hadn't repeated that to Harry. He should have worked with Andrew, and stayed out of Harry's way during the day.
Such a disappointing episode overall. The build-up felt like Christmas Eve, and then it felt like I got a stocking full of coal!

The contestants will say 1001 things to camera, particularly in the private room, and the producers use it to spin a narrative, which makes it more interesting for the viewers. It's a game, FFS, Harry is playing it well to try and win the money and Ross was not as good at it, which is why they recruited him as cannon fodder, and it worked perfectly. You have to be prepared to throw anyone under the bus to do so. It's not "cruel", Ross was being a divvy. Though I do agree with others that the plot seems to be going the way that Harry might fall before the final hurdle. I don't "support" anyone but I do enjoy someone playing the game well, and how things can change. Like Andrew wising up suddenly at the round table.

I thought it was a brilliant episode, and the traps were funny in the game.

Ruminate2much · 25/01/2024 06:15

@shearwater2 yes it's a game, and yes lots of edits etc. But still real human beings and real money to play for etc.
I think though, I've realised I'll always support the faithfuls, as the traits needed to be a good traitor, are traits I can't admire. So, I do recognise that bias on my part. I like the goodies!

it will be a black day if Jazz gets murdered!

Definitely. I think it'll be over for me at that point.

Willmafrockfit · 25/01/2024 06:17

how on earth do they stop the banished doing a Keiron?

i seem to recall last year there were a lot of tears at the round table
all seems a lot calmer this time.

Edited

I'd be very happy for Andrew to do a Kieron on Harry!

Stowickthevast · 25/01/2024 06:35

Thanks for the new thread @EineReiseDurchDieZeit and the title, poor Mollie really is being led to the slaughter.

Sadly I think they will murder Jaz, although would prefer it to be Zack or Mollie.

I don't think Jasmine can save herself from banishment as that's the way it's going unless they have a task that somehow gives the Faithful a clue.

So final 5 will be Andrew, Harry, Zach/Jaz, Mollie & Evie.

Harry plays on Mollie's suspicions of Andrew and he is banished. Then they vote to finish and Harry takes the money. Zach/Jaz may also get thrown to the wolves at some stage.

shearwater2 · 25/01/2024 06:36

Jaz and Zack I've probably found the most irritating out of all of them, though I don't dislike them per se. Jaz kept suspecting traitors early on then it was like he'd had a mindwipe at the round table. Zack acts like a traitor and just accuses everyone and foments discord. But I don't think if I played I'd want to be a faithful, it's so much harder to get right, IMO. Evie is probably the best faithful just now, she has played a blinder.

Riverlee · 25/01/2024 06:38

Thank you for the new thread. Love the title.

shearwater2 · 25/01/2024 06:42

As a traitor now I would murder Zack and hope Jasmine gets blamed, but it may be too obvious. Mollie supports Harry and seems to be able to convince others also.

Ruminate2much · 25/01/2024 06:42

I really feel sorry for Mollie. I genuinely worry about what effect discovering Harry is a traitor will have on her. She's so trusting.

shearwater2 · 25/01/2024 06:43

I think she just fancies him. Applying the same logic as I would have at 21. Can't be a traitor as he's fit, innit?

MichaelAndEagle · 25/01/2024 06:46

I think its really interesting whether you naturally want the traitors or faithful to win.
I usually find myself cheering on the traitors but then in the final desperately wanting the faithful to find them!
I do think the traitors work harder for the money. You can get through as a faithful even if you are rubbish (probably not win though).

WhereAreWeNow · 25/01/2024 06:53

I would be hopeless on this show. I like to think I'm quite shrewd but I always feel one step behind with this. I'd be useless at the double bluffs.

WhereAreWeNow · 25/01/2024 06:54

Mollie definitely fancies Harry. I think the feeling is mutual. Or maybe he's just ruthlessly manipulating her.

Same. I'd be hopeless! The only way I'd do well is to coast along as an inoffensive faithful and end up in the final by accident.

MotherofGorgons · 25/01/2024 07:03

Andrew has been completely useless. I hope he doesn't win. Ditto Mollie. Two sheep.

Harry absolutely deserves to win, whatever you may think of his personality. He's made all the big moves while Andrew nodded along. The shield masking was genius.

I hope he gets a makeover with the money and gets rid of that horrible George Michael earring.

Me too - I am always rooting for the faithfuls to win, even when they are being useless. Failing that, please Andrew, the conflicted traitor, not Harry.

ClarasZoo · 25/01/2024 07:25

Wouldn’t it be great if , in the final, Mollie reveals she has known about Harry all along and it was her who was manipulating him?! And she votes him out and wins ithe money with Jaz… do you think the producers sit them down and say, right we are going to film you backing up Harry as a faithful. Now do it as if you suspect him… and they only use the footage that suits the narrative when it’s all edited at the end….

Stowickthevast · 25/01/2024 07:34

That would be amazing @ClarasZoo but sadly I don't think she's that smart.

MajesticWhine · 25/01/2024 07:50

I find myself rooting for the traitors and I felt the same last season. I think Harry or Andrew deserve the win.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 25/01/2024 07:53

I’ve changed my mind about who I want to win after last night. Zach piling on at breakfast really annoyed me - let people breathe, for Gods sake! I feel sorry for Andrew as he so obviously hates being a traitor but is trying to make the best of it. I agree with the theory that we’re being set up for a spectacular Harry downfall. But I’d rather him win than Zach, or Mollie. So my preferred order would now be : Andrew, Jas, Evie, Jasmine, Harry, Mollie, Zach.

I do think Andrew will struggle with taking all the money if he does win. He’s such a team player.
