I really don't think Harry will want to be in the final 5 with so many argumentative types - he needs pliant sheep, and is totally convinced about Mollie. Also Andrew like Mollie, too, so wouldn't go with it.

MadCatLady27 · 25/01/2024 09:01

I really hope he murders Molly too (because she's been so gullible I don't think she deserves to win and I don't want a repeat of Hannah only getting Wilf because Keiron dropped him in it leaving her to get the money!)

Surely it's a perfect double bluff too because she's so smitten by him, you would think he would want her around as an ally. She's also never come up at the round table so until a traitor is caught, she's one you won't be able to get rid of then end the game, so in that way the game will go on

However Jaz and Zach are dangerous to him as they are the only 2 who are really suspecting anything, but would they be able to get the support behind them someone popular like Paul would have been able to?

Sadly I think they've picked Jaz 😞

TooOldForThisNonsense · 25/01/2024 09:05

I kind of hope Mollie is murdered because much as I don’t like her much as she has contributed bugger all to the game I think she would actually be pretty badly affected if she got fucked over by Harry in the final when she’d trusted him so much. So to protect her from that really

Mintyt · 25/01/2024 09:06

Watching traitors unclocked Ross comes across really really well

AnImaginaryCat · 25/01/2024 09:06

"This is the slight flaw in the format of the game - to be a 'good faithful' you need to be good both at working out who the traitors are, and at persuading your fellow players of your conclusions. Both Jaz and Zach are failing at the second part, I think."

Plus not be a threat to the traitors, which means you have to be careful which of your fellow players you speak to.

Speak to the wrong one and they might tell the person you were trying to convince Is a traitor. Or it could be another traitor who is being (foolishly) loyal so tells the other traitors.

Dulra · 25/01/2024 09:06

As viewers we much prefer to class contestants in a certain role ("sheep", "stupid", "nasty" or whatever) because of their behaviours and how they interpret behaviours.
This is so true as viewers we all seem to need a baddy. We all hated Paul, he was a baddy we wanted him out Harry was our hero, now we all hate Harry he is our baddy. I find it really interesting, we complain about the sheep on the show but I think us as viewers we are also sheep and part of the group think theory.

I wish Ross had never accepted the Traitorship but guess he'd have had a target on him either way.
I was thinking about this. If Ross had not accepted the traitorship there would have been no murder so the next morning at breakfast with Harry producing the shield it could have played out the same way, only difference is Ross would have said the traitors had tried to recruit him the previous night and all eyes would have turned to Harry and he would have been banished. Andrew would have been the only traitor left. Of course Harry in that scenario may not have mentioned the shield, but he had stupidly let people know he had it so either way he would have been a major suspect and likely banished. He really really was banking on Ross agreeing to be a traitor. Maybe in future series people will see how late recruitments are your downfall and not accept.

WoolyMammoth55 · 25/01/2024 09:12

See, I'm absolutely sure Mollie has said in the diary room bits that she's got her suspicions about Harry AND Andrew? I don't think she's as bland as all that - I just think she's doing what Harry did until Paul-gate and playing pretty but dim... And doing what has got Evie this far, which is keeping her card close to her chest...

HOWEVER I was lying awake last night laughing to myself that we've spent 3 weeks thinking Jaz and Zach were the Faithful masterminds, and one of them CARRIED THE GOLD INTO A TRAP and the other ended up waist-deep in a slime bath... Andrew looked clever and competent as ALL HELL compared to our dynamic sleuthing duo!

I think Andrew is clever and if he can stop confessing by shouting "Ross threw me under a bus" for 5 minutes straight, then maybe he could actually win...

BUT I'm also mindful of the US s1 ending where (trying not to spoil but) the victory felt it had a bitter aftertaste? I am not sure our lovely team-player Andrew has the steel in him to really back-stab people who trust him, when the heat is really on!

Harry, ugh. I've never liked him since he licked his lips with the blindfold on in episode 1. There's playing a panto villain like Paul, there's being a Traitor with a heart (Miles, Andrew) - and then there's just total a-moral sliminess...

I appreciated the point on Uncloaked that it's INCREDIBLY clever to keep your wits about you in the dark, in the stinky tunnels, surrounded by bugs and mud and rotting veggies. And to see the shield and make all the connections in that moment that he can get it unseen, that he's keeping it quiet, that even when Claudia says "someone has the shield, do they want to admit it?" he keeps his poker face... I'm not taking that away from the lad because it's FAR cleverer than I could be in those circumstances, hats off to him.

And yet, under that pretty cheeky face, I'm pretty sure he's just a clever lizard!

So I'm not rooting for him to win it - but when his biggest threats are Zach and Jaz he may well do!

Turkeyhen · 25/01/2024 09:13

I can't work out Ross' thinking running off to tell Harry what Andrew had said. What did he think would come of that?

@AnImaginaryCat prime example of Ross’ poor gameplay - when Andrew said that Harry was being elusive, that should have been Ross’ opportunity to team up with Andrew to take Harry down. Dear, lovely Ross: hopeless traitor 😭

NonPlayerCharacter · 25/01/2024 09:16

In series 1, the only person to refuse recruitment was murdered so you can see why everyone is scared to decline. Now we know that at a certain point, the Traitors are only seeking decoys, people might stop accepting and bank on not being murdered because the Traitors are hoping for banishment. Then if you are banished, you can at least say you were a Faithful so the Traitors can't use you for cover.

Alchemistress · 25/01/2024 09:17

Been lurking on these threads for a while, but couldn't let this pass without comment :

Regarding Andrew lying about using the word 'Elusive' - am I wrong in thinking that this is the first time someone has outright lied about something that they have actually said on camera?

I'm not talking about the normal lies Traitors have to make to cover who they are, but I seem to only recall that when someone has been called out at the Round table, the accused has always said ' yes I did say that' and had to defend it.

Because if flat out denying you said something becomes commonplace, the whole thing will descend into anarchy. And isn't really fair, in my view.

BaconAndAvocado · 25/01/2024 09:18

shearwater2 · 25/01/2024 06:43

I think she just fancies him. Applying the same logic as I would have at 21. Can't be a traitor as he's fit, innit?

😂😂totally agree......innit!

I think you are right - the difference with this was:

1 - the only witness to Andrew saying it was Ross who Andrew wanted to see banished - so under those circumstances it was the best move;
AND
2 - I genuinely think Andrew is scared of Harry and was lying so that HARRY would believe he is loyal! Rather than trying to convince the Faithfuls of anything.

So again, v unusual situation.

100% (😀) agree with you.

Plus, I don't see how Evie is playing a smart game. She seems as clueless as the others to me! I like Jasmine's attitude - she comes across as quite astute and has obviously tried to be analytical in her approach.

And it's a game - traitors have to traitor! 😁

MaggieFS · 25/01/2024 09:27

I didn't hate Paul 🤷‍♀️

MaggieFS · 25/01/2024 09:30

I have classes a lot of them as sheep, because that's exactly what we are seeing.

I understand they don't want to waste votes, so it makes more sense to be focusing on just one or two names at the round table, but I'd be very interested to see what would happen if everyone HAD to speak at the round table, take it in turns to say who they suspect and why, without the right of reply. And then afterwards see where the discussion goes. I know it wouldn't be as good to watch, but it would be interesting vs. lots of people currently jumping on bandwagons.

MotherofGorgons · 25/01/2024 09:31

I didn't hate Paul and I don't hate Harry. IRL I would probably hang out with Diane or Ross over a pint, but in the game Harry has done more than anyone to deserve the win.

Alchemistress · 25/01/2024 09:35

@WoolyMammoth55

Ah yes I see your point. Smart thinking from Andrew at that point in the game. And so quick!

Still, I think I'd like a side note in future games that at the Round Table you have to stand by anything you've said otherwise going forward it's a potential quagmire of flat out denials. It's more interesting seeing people have to defend their actions because otherwise the people who are good at shouting others down will come out on top.

Dotellhimpike · 25/01/2024 09:35

Jasmine is now the one I want to win. Her no bullshit attitude really impressed me last night.

Samcro · 25/01/2024 09:43

i don't like jasmine she is so rude. i feel for Mollie. I think the editing makes her look weak (probably does the same for Jasmine)

i do think when people say that hate one of them, they don't mean that actual person, just the "character" they are playing.

WoolyMammoth55 · 25/01/2024 09:47

Dotellhimpike · 25/01/2024 09:35

Yes I've liked her from the beginning, she's feisty in a good way!

For those feeling she's rude, I disagree - she's just not being a typical "nice girl" people pleaser.

Zach has been SO OFF with her consistently - either accusing her to her face or touching her too much, following her around trying to "make peace" - she's refused to gloss over it (which I would feel the pressure to do) - she's just stood her ground saying "no thanks".

It's strong! And I really like her for it. But I do fear she's too far out of the clique to win any money, sadly.

Ruminate2much · 25/01/2024 09:49

MaggieFS · 25/01/2024 09:27

I didn't hate Paul 🤷‍♀️

Me neither. He was more of a panto villain I feel. The hammy overacting was hilarious!
I was upset how quickly he betrayed Miles though. I loved Miles. He was by far and away my favourite traitor. That blooming rosé was his undoing!

crabbyoldbat · 25/01/2024 09:49

HueyDeweyandLouie - I don't see how Evie is playing a smart game

Well I don't think we've seen much of her on screen up to now, when there are no places to hide, but its very noticeable to me that the two people Jaz chose to confide in are Zack and Evie. And when she does speak up, for instance at he round table, she comes over as measured and sympathetic (to the others), even when she's voting someone out. Maybe she's not being smart, and it's just her natural demeanour.

User478 · 25/01/2024 09:52

The BBC3 "don't know who the traitor is" version could just show the whole, unedited round table (because it must take ages and there must be completely random stuff that's said then) with a red button viewer vote.

I really liked The Mole on netflix, but the best version of all was the CBBC gameshow Trapped, where each task had a "Saboteur". Genius.

Riverlee · 25/01/2024 09:54

Admittedly, I haven’t watched the first series since it was broadcast, but I feel that in series one, the Faithfuls had a better chance of winning, whilst in this series, The Traitors have the upper hand, it are definitely more strategic than last year.

Ruminate2much · 25/01/2024 09:55

I like Jasmine too. I don't personally think she's rude. She's just straightforward; and what you see is what you get.
You can't win as a woman in Traitors series 2 🤷‍♂️ If you're sweet natured, you're accused of being vapid & insipid. If you're very clearly not those things, you're accused of being rude. Impossible!
