@HippyCritical, it did have shades of that, you're right! I half expected the dramatic sound of Denzel's echoing footsteps down that deserted alleyway.

Until I realised all the kids wear sound-absorbing trainers these days.

I much prefer nuanced Alfie than when in irritating cheeky-chappy-cor-blimey mode.

I think the writers are doing a pretty convincing job of showing the indignities some with cancer have to cope with, in addition to all the stress of treatment and surgery.
