Just caught her dishing out the slop. What was it - tinned mince and red food colouring to save on tomatoes?

FAQ · 17/03/2008 20:36

no some jar of ready made tomato sauce thing.....

sorry, this thread hadn't started when i did my search.
i'm just watching this for first time tonight.
what's with the hands over the labels so you don't know where she got it?

Carmenere · 17/03/2008 20:37

Am not watching out of sheer disgust.

Fimbo · 17/03/2008 20:37

Dh made her shepherds pie once from her book.

Twas only the once.

It was vile, truly vile.

She didn't say in the book to drain the fat off the lambs mince, so of course dh didn't.

Eurgh still makes me boak thinking about it.

BabiesEverywhere · 17/03/2008 20:37

Yuck, even I can cook Spag Bol from scratch.

Taweret · 17/03/2008 20:37

"simply pop in all that left-over venison"

Bless her!

Carmenere · 17/03/2008 20:38

Let me assure you if she is holding her hand over any label it is only because they haven't paid her to be in her show

cyanarasamba · 17/03/2008 20:38

The pasta with pesto/green beans looks ok...

dragonbutter · 17/03/2008 20:39

"I'm an old bag and i;ll drive as fast as i bloody well like"
oh dear this programme is painful

dragonbutter · 17/03/2008 20:40

I made her veggie shepherds pie once. It was revolting

Hulababy · 17/03/2008 20:40

Be she is from the generation who cook mince for hours before they think it is done; hence assuming spag bol would take too long.

Does anyone still cook mince for an hour ro two these days?

dragonbutter · 17/03/2008 20:41

So am I supposed to go to every supermarket til i find a clear plastic bottle of red wine with a 3 week shelf life then?

Scampmum · 17/03/2008 20:41

She just made pasta and pesto. That's ready made pesto. Extraordinary.

FAQ · 17/03/2008 20:43

Hula........well I made a chilli type thing for dinner tonight with mince........I started cooking at just before 6, by 6.30 it was being eaten by the DS's.........so that would be a "no" from me

OP posts:
Hulababy · 17/03/2008 20:44

Me too - but I know some older people who do, and I don't understand why.

dragonbutter · 17/03/2008 20:45

Right, one more shot of the back of a can of something and i'm switching it off!

I really don't get it. Surely there's not going to be a run on canned mince as a result of this?

And the speeding mother?! Tsk.

weebleswobble · 17/03/2008 20:51

Even my 14 year old ds is saying "Mum, but that's so wrong" when he saw the can of mince!

dragonbutter · 17/03/2008 20:52

It's all so desperate. She's trying so hard to be cool again.
"Look I'm using a tin of mince and my mother's just like jeremy clarkson!"

my bolog takes 2 hours, most proper Italian Ragu style ones do (mine has pork/beef in and milk and red wine etc etc)

what people with more than one brain cell do however is double or treble the recipe and freeze the rest

no tins of slop in this house

dh has the football on so not watching, is it v bad?
