Anyone starting this today? It's with Michelle Keegan. 8 Episodes.

I think ( but not sure) that Shane was looking out for her , but Dh had him down a baddie because he wore his beret over the wrong eye! ..
However, the car alarm was strange and maybe he was just a weirdo stalker.
I wasn't expecting that ending though or the look into the future
I did enjoy it overall , but the way she burst in on people to demand things was funny.

I've not read the thread.
I've just finished it.

Can someones tell me who made her car alarm go off at night please and why?. She steps outside to turn off the alarm.

He put a tracker on the wheel arch

This is painful to watch

Yes it started off promising but went downhill hill. By the time I got to episode 6 I'd completely lost interest but kept going. And what has Richard Armitage done to his face. I use to think he was quite handsome.

Oh wait, Maia is good at sexual assault (pantsing the coach). Who knew, right?

Yes that was shocking. Imagine if the roles, were reversed but of course - no comeback.

She was such a dislikeable and demanding character, very black-and-white with no shades or nuances but that's down to the script of course.

I found the ending shocking and good - I mean, before the epilogue

It was also just completely weird. She is a shit actress playing a crap character so I guess maybe it’s in keeping 😂

Would love to know how she got her nails manicured and lashes done in the middle of a warzone!

Janiie · 10/01/2024 10:47

I'm only up to ep 4 of this and watching more as it's a polished Netflix production cinematography wise but omg so many questions. Why would there be 2 blithering detectives investigating 2 serious crimes and not a big team? Why didn't Maia tell said blithering cops about the phone and why were those pesky kids going to see a strange man about the photo instead of, again, telling the police?

Ashley from Happy Valley trying to do a posh accent was funny.

I'll stick with it to see who did it..

ManchesterBea · 10/01/2024 15:03

This was so bad, tried twice to watch it, but just couldn't get past the terrible acting. Really low production values in terms of the quality of the performances.

Sadly, didn't persevere. The review which gave it one star, and said you had to turn off, your brain was completely accurate! Ouch.

Horrible show with zero believability or relatable characters.

This review nails it https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/reviews/fool-me-once-netflix-michelle-keegan-b2468329.html

This review is the one to read before you waste your time.

OMG 😲 I loved this series! Thought Michelle Keegan was fantastic. I've watched a couple of Halen Conen series before (The Stranger and the one where a lad dies in a pool at a party in the first episode. )

Thought this series was the best of the lot. Couldn't stop myself from binging three episodes in a row!

This thread shows how different we all are, as with all things!

@susiedaisy1912 you just made me giggle.

So true! It's interesting how some things are loved by people, and then other people really hate them! It would be very boring if you all like the same thing 😊

ManchesterBea · 12/01/2024 11:31

Ugh sorry about the typos. Should say we all liked the same thing but you.

Can't find edit button on app!

FastFood · 12/01/2024 12:15

That was very bad. Very very bad.
As all Harlan Coben shows really.
I will continue watching them forever, I just enjoy how bad they are.
What I enjoy even more is that they keep getting worse. Can't wait for the next one.

FastFood · 12/01/2024 12:20

In terms of plot holes (rather plot caves):

  • How come the nanny and her boyfriend knew about the hidden camera?
  • What's the deal with the friend and all her hidden cameras in picture frames?
  • How come the highly secretive / paranoid whistleblower with bad skin calls the sister from the shop directly? Burner phone (and adequate skincare) anyone?
  • What the hell is that outfit at the very beginning, why is she dressed like a pornified version of a captain?
  • WHO HAS A SPOT IN A NURSERY WITHIN 12 HOURS?!?
MyopicBunny · 12/01/2024 12:38

Also, how did the hidden camera in the picture frame end up in the room where Joe's family shot Maya?? I must have missed that bit.

SPOILER ALERT!!! DONT READ OF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW THE ENDING!!!!!!

I'm guessing she put it there and asked Corey the whistle to help her set it up so everyone can see it and she planned it as she knew she was gonna go prison for Joe's murder so wanted to make sure they all got sent down too for their crimes!!

I really loved it and watched it all in 2 days but it didn't make sense how she was running around nearly the whole series trying to find out whi killed her sister and husband when she knew her husband killed her sister and she killed him because he killed her!

the80sweregreat · 12/01/2024 13:22

I assumed she was running about trying to solve things to throw people off the scent a bit plus try and find out if her husband was still alive or not. She only started it all after she saw that footage from the frame and the nanny pepper sprayed her and took off.
She knew the detective was going to find out things eventually and wanted to get him off the case ?
I admit I did get a tad confused by the end as to who was doing what , so I might be wrong!

Morelinesadded · 12/01/2024 15:08

I got through this as it had some entertainment value, but what a load of crap. Terrible acting and a completely unbelievable plot. I happened to see a review posted on FB with loads of people saying what a wonderful series it was. The article included the lead actress (whatever her name is) saying that she felt shy about swearing in front of Joanna Lumley. How pathetic!

LoobyDop · 12/01/2024 15:11

Joanna Lumley who played Patsy “fuck that Eddie, let’s get fucking shitfaced” Stone?!

MyopicBunny · 12/01/2024 15:38

I had seen an article pop up on my phone which said that people were calling in sick to work so they could watch it!
