Watched two episodes so far and really enjoying it. I wanted to watch more but first day back at work tomorrow after the holidays so need an early night!

DH and DD are watching .
Michelle Keegan is a really good actress IMO (loved her in Brassic too)

I like her long checked wool coat <shallow>

I've liked all her clothes in it (totally shallow).

Peachandwatermelon · 01/01/2024 22:23

Agree re Michelle Keegan. Also Joanna Lumley very good and I like the guy playing the detective.

HollyJollyHolidays · 01/01/2024 22:26

It’s watchable but I really don’t think her acting is great, a bit wooden and one dimensional.

Anna Friel or Suranne Jones would have elevated the whole thing- just my opinion!

KissingUnderTheMistletoe · 01/01/2024 22:29

Anyone else thinks she could be Suranne Jones’ doppelgänger?! The older she becomes the more I see it.

HollyJollyHolidays · 01/01/2024 22:31

The dialogue is a bit dull too, shame really as it could have been great.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 01/01/2024 22:53

I'm not good with faces and I'm struggling a bit with telling the sisters apart because the hair (which is what I usually use for identification) is very similar.

Psychoticbreak · 02/01/2024 03:56

On episode 6 thank you insomnia. Really enjoying it.

Wendysfriend · 02/01/2024 04:24

Just finished it, ended up bingeing it , just couldn't stop watching it, so good... Michelle was brilliant. Excellent ending..

Checkthemeaning · 02/01/2024 07:41

How cute is Lily?? Her little smiling face is so sweet 🥰

Therealjudgejudy · 02/01/2024 08:27

Going to start episode 3 at lunchtime...guaranteed to binge the rest. Loving all her coats!

Rosecoffeecup · 02/01/2024 08:40

I watched 1-7 yesterday, thought it started great but by episode 7 I was losing interest. Going to finish it today and hope the ending redeems itself.

Loved majority of her wardrobe! I wanted to see her actual wardrobe. Was jealous of the immaculate layout of his everything in protective covers!

School99 · 02/01/2024 10:59

Bit disappointed too many plot holes and silly developments

CountTo10 · 02/01/2024 11:32

Am an episode and half in. Very watchable (if only for location spotting) but also very annoying. I understand that MK's character may want to investigate her husband's death but why on earth does she insist on confronting all the potential suspects with whatever evidence she's found?

Surely if you see your 'dead' husband on the nanny cam when the nanny is there you don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out the nanny is involved/has something to hide? Why confront her and tell her all you know thereby alerting everyone involved and laying the door open to any evidence being got rid of tampered with?

Also the nanny having some sort of family connection. I assumed she had been the family nanny but she's much too young so not sure why that isn't suspicious to MK and her delving a bit more into the 'family connection'.

MK then finds the secret phone and tells late sister's husband all about it (who may or may not know more) and then stomps off to confront a shifty looking manager in a gaming arcade? Surely you'd take it to the Police rather than trampling over all evidence. Also saying 'do you know my sister' to manger is a bit pointless. At the very least you'd show a photo so he knew who you were talking about?

However I will be watching the rest as I'm hooked even if it makes me roll my eyes at times?

School99 · 02/01/2024 12:57

That’s just a fraction of the eye rolling bits
there are so many things people do and say which would never actually happen in real life it’s cringy
I had to watch it to the end but wouldn’t recommend it

WhereIsBebèsChambre · 02/01/2024 13:38

Absolutely @CountTo10 first thing i would have done would have been take a video or photo of it on my phone, to leave the person you're accusing alone with the evidence? 'Get your own glass of water!"

TheChosenTwo · 02/01/2024 13:44

Ooh I forgot this was coming out! Read about it a while ago and was disappointed not to be able to watch it at the time - it’s a rainy day before we all go back to work and school, we’ve just got back from holiday and I’ve lit the fire - everyone has scarpered off to their rooms and dh for a lie down so I think that’s my afternoon sorted! Was actually just about to put on the Agatha Christie I had recorded but this has changed my mind…

blackpanth · 02/01/2024 13:48

Will be watching this

MrsWhites · 02/01/2024 14:35

Watching this too, on episode 2. Finding the way Michelle Keegan speaks a bit annoying - like she’s trying too hard to over pronounce.

Agree with what others have said - why would you confront anyone with evidence? You’d just go to the police surely.

Did anyone else find it strange when she argued with the sisters husband and she said ‘I think sister trumps husband’? I mean, I love my siblings with losing my husband would be far more disruptive! Just thought it was a strange thing to say!

Hels20 · 02/01/2024 18:28

I agree @MrsWhites - thought it was odd too. Your husband would surely trump your sibling. V odd thing to say.

i raced through this - really enjoyed it. Thought there were a few red herrings - but I have enjoyed all the Netflix Coben adaptions.

Mywhoopdeedoo · 02/01/2024 18:34

Just recognising a lot of the locations: Bolton school and Rivington

Simonjt · 02/01/2024 18:37

We’re enjoying it so far, our lovely old vet managed to sneak in as an extra when he visited his partner on set, so our job was to try and spot him, we’re only on episode one so far, so yet to sneak a peak of him.

ChanelNo19EDT · 02/01/2024 18:41

HollyJollyHolidays · 01/01/2024 22:31

The dialogue is a bit dull too, shame really as it could have been great.

yeh, it's just to move the plot along. No humour.

TheChosenTwo · 02/01/2024 21:41

I’m on to episode 2 now and I’ve realised i have read the book! Think I can remember how it pans out in the end but I’m enjoying it so will carry on watching.
