I couldn't see a thread about this, so have started one. Hope it is not a duplicate.

Have found it more and more saccharine but love the scenery.

And love reading comments.

Any one thinking of watching?

Here we go

Oh it's lovely so far. I have a large knock off baileys over ice and a hot water bottle in my back, my big fluffy dressing gown on and the tree all pretty in the corner, all the presents are wrapped and I'm feeling blissfully festive. I adore Siegfried 🥰

Houseplanter · 21/12/2023 21:28

Hasn't Jenny grown in to a lovely young woman

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 21/12/2023 22:10

That was lovely. I did very much enjoy the delicate situation in the surgery 😁

Windy1234 · 21/12/2023 22:10

Thought that was lovely, the Christmas special marks our Christmas tv 🎄 also watched with baileys over ice and the tree lights on. Mrs hall's tree was giving me serious nostalgia x

Houseplanter · 21/12/2023 22:13

It was lovely but way too early. I'm going to re watch in the next few days.. Christmas hasn't really started in the Planter house so feels a bit out of place.

JazzyJogger · 21/12/2023 22:24

That was so heartwarming and lovely . Not too over sentimental .

I think a handsome GI will sweep her off her feet

So do I . I love it all so quintessentially British .

Houseplanter · 21/12/2023 22:30

@JazzyJogger oh wouldn't that be good! Can you imagine her dads reaction 🤦🏻‍♀️

SirChenjins · 21/12/2023 22:47

Just perfect 😊 I was worried that the birth was going to end up being in t’stables somewhere up on the snowy moors with the donkeys and sheep looking on, but they hit the mark perfectly. I agree with @Houseplanter though, it was far too early - that should have been a Christmas Day special.

I’m more in love with Siegfried with every episode - Sam West plays him perfectly.

Especially if she got pregnant!

I thought that too it would have been perfect Christmas Day tv

I'm going to rewatch with DD nearer Christmas. Oh wait, shit, there's only Saturday night free now because it IS nearly Christmas 😱 I'm not sure if my mum watched it or not so we might wait and watch with her. I've got the Yorkshire vet one recorded to watch with Dd and ds.
Loved the lametta on the tree and Mrs Hall doing what I used to do every Christmas and pick it up off the floor and put it back on. Luckily the cat never ate any so I didn't have to pull it out of her bum 😬
Comfort viewing at its best. I clapped my hand over my mouth at the bare bum scene and went "oh shit" when I saw the RAF car pull up to James. I was proper wrapped up in the whole thing. Perfect.

Houseplanter · 21/12/2023 23:47

Blimey @JazzyJogger I reckon you've just nailed the whole of the next series

Sadly I think Tristan won't make it back

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 22/12/2023 00:13

@JazzyJogger noooo don't say that! I love Tristan!

5foot5 · 22/12/2023 11:47

Sadly I think Tristan won't make it back

Well IRL he survives the war.

I think we know who won't. In the previous series we see Mrs Hall's troublesome son going to sea and from his hat we know he is serving on a ship called HMS Repulse. Having googled that I don't think the next Christmas special will be as jolly...

JazzyJogger · 22/12/2023 12:06

@5foot5

Ah I haven't got round to reading the books yet . I hope Siegfried married Mrs Hall

eggandonion · 22/12/2023 13:11

Tris can return with a new head if necessary. The cat was lovely.

SirChenjins · 22/12/2023 13:56

Thanks for sharing that @diddl - really interesting Smile

diddl · 22/12/2023 16:08

I can't find it now but I'm sure I read somewhere that Siegfried's first wife died of bovine tb.

His second wife was called Audrey.

JewelleryCat · 22/12/2023 16:13

I watched the Yorkshire vet special and all creatures great and small special. I loved them both, some feel good tv at its finest

So he did marry Mrs Hall she's called Audrey
