Where the spoiler comes from varies from week to week, but on Blackpool night it comes live through to the Digital Spy spoiler thread.

Bobby being in the DO fits with the online polls.

Angela and Kai eliminated - unanimous decision.

Yes, the Digital Spy forum has arranged to get the spoiler for years. I believe there is also a really reliable Facebook group for this too. Dave Thorpe just gets it from there and takes the credit.

This the poll that Dave Thorpe ran tonight. His polls often turn out to be an accurate reflection of who ends up in the DO. Looking at tonight's poll, Layton's routine was clearly not a hit.

And this is the Entertainment Odds poll which is run at the same time. Although the polls are very different, they both predict the DO accurately.

So we're none the wiser really, apart from knowing that Bobby's vote is poor and suspecting that Layton's vote is poor but he got lucky with the way the results fell for everyone else.

Week 13 Final 16th

They all have four routines left to learn, two they can ditch.
A seasoned pro tends to leave one speciality for the semis (one less to choreo).

The problem here is Annabel seems to have already done a lot of waft. I think she needs a fierce paso next week to get through and show a different side.
I'd then love a foxtrot to Another Suitcase (Evita) if it works.

The problem here is that Bobby is still gangly/Bambi and that height discrepancy is going to show in a QS. I'd do salsa next week and let his hair down/chuck Di about. I'd then do a couple's choice/rumba to Kiss the girl with Diane as Ariel. I would not do Street/commercial Diane.

Ellie's got some good routines left. I'd do a safe waltz next week.

Layton needs to give us one classical, un-Laytoned ballroom.

I'm not sure he should reprise any musical he's actually starred in but I might make an exception for an American Smooth to Seasons of Love (Rent).
But I'd bloody love him and Nikita to do a Hamilton paso! If they pulled that off, in breeches, they'd get all my votes.

Nigel needs to wow with no errors next week and put in the flawless performance we saw in week one. I'm not sure what will propel him now - a steamy AT maybe?
Tempting then to see him reprise a Shrek number, but I think a nice waltz to All I ask of you with him as Phantom might help more with the votes. Or a rumba to Hungry eyes with his shirt off.

Only problem with Layton being in back to back DOs is that judges will save him every time possibly even over Ellie.

I don't think Ellie would ever end up in the dance off. She's never been bottom of the leaderboard and she seems to be doing well in public votes according to online polls.

IF she is in the DO with Layton, imagine the outrage!

When Layton does a traditional ballroom/Latin we'll, he gets high scores and the public vote. Noone wants to see pole dancing on Strictly and that's why his CC routine did not get the public vote. It's down to Nikita to make some clever choreo/music choices (and ditch the guyliner!)

I quite agree that Layton and Nikita would look amazing in Hamilton costumes. I wonder if they're going to dodge the rumba.

It strikes me that Katya has saved a bunch of dances at which Nigel should excel - she knows full well that their secret weapon is his old fashioned sex appeal which should work well in a rumba, Argentine tango and AS regardless of footwork errors. Maybe a Charleston and rumba for the semis?

Annabel has a trickier run of dances, but that's never stopped her before.

Bobby is definitely going to struggle - the online polling suggests that his low vote isn't a one-off, because it was similar last week and I suspect he probably only escaped the DO then by a narrow margin. Only the salsa looks like a safe choice for him.

Angela has got an evil run of dances unless she's banished her ballroom demons. I still want to see her do an Irish Couples Choice and see Carlos struggling desperately to manage the technique.

Yep, likely Layton will be saved by the judges against Bobby, Angela S and Annabel (not necessarily in that order) then he'll be in the final with Nigel and Ellie. But he won't win 😂

I’m not feeling the love for Nigel. He’s been underwhelming, apart from two dances. Too many mistakes.

If rumours are true and Bobby is contempowafting to This Woman's Work next week then you are going to have start handing me tissues now. I can't hear any version of it without tearing up.

I have just watched the DO. In the same way, Eric Morecambe did his famous "all the right notes in the wrong order" to Andre Preview (!), I often feel that way about the show. I think you usually end up with the right ones in the final but I'd change the eliminations.

This series, I'd have saved Eddie over Zara, Adam over Ange and probably booted my fave Krish over that Couple's Choice. We'd still have ended up where we are probably, just in a different order.

I actually preferred Ange in tonight's DO. Diane outdanced frenetically and showed Bobby up as a result. It reminded me of Gorks when he knew Nikita was a goner. Ange looked more relaxed, the transitions were better, she smiled throughout. Similarly, she looked smoother and less stiff in her exit dance.
Maybe a weight lifted in the knowledge she can have a lie-in tomorrow.

Nonetheless, am happy with the top six. Would have been happier with Amanda but hope she's happy at home with her feet up. I read somewhere she's not coming back for the finale.

Regardless of whether they bring up Jade Goody next week (and I hope they don't but suspect they will) Bobby's contemporary - if it's that music - will affect me. Diane seems fragile too which won't help.

Nige has a choon and a half in It's all coming back to me. Rumba with his chest out = votes. My guilty pleasure is watching Jeremy Jordan belt it out, which I watch at least once a month.

Ange cha cha-ing(?) to I will Survive. Georgia did that when she was injured iirc and got through, but not her best, and of course, Jason Donovan tangoed to it with feathers.
The Björk track could go either way - big band bombastic AS? - but I'm having flashbacks to the awful Alice in Wonderland pro dance.

That leaves Ellie and Annabel. It will be interesting how it pans out.
It still feels quite open.

Interesting one tonight. I was a bit worried that Nikita Layton might end up in the dance-off against Bobby (I don't want them to win, but I do want to see them in the final), but then I did the sums, and realised that in order to avoid the dance-off with no ties on the leaderboard Angela would need to beat not only Bobby and Layton in the vote (pretty much guaranteed) but also one of Nigel/Annabel/Ellie (much trickier if all the polls are to be believed).

So my money's on Layton finally ascending to his destiny as a Dance-Off Assassin and eliminating Angela. Will be surprised, but entertained, if the result is otherwise.
