Nothing on the spoiler thread on digital spy when I looked an hour ago. Not checked since.

belgiumchocolates · 05/11/2023 08:38

Rumours on DS but nothing confirmed yet.

Assuming the public aren't voting for Layton in large numbers but the judges will continue to give high scores , what week do you think we can expect to see him in the DO ? After Blackpool ?

mapff · 05/11/2023 08:47

Is it possible we may not get a confirmed spoiler today? I've only watched the past couple of years and there's always been one so not sure what's happened previously

SequinsandStiIettos · 05/11/2023 08:47

No confirmation yet, they are still mooting Ange R vs Adam, Adam to go but not concrete.
It sounds credible, if others saved Ange S (undermarked?) and Krish (personality).
You'd be left then with Adam, who I'd hoped would get a Bottom 2 bounce from last week but Zara only got one of those in her time on Strictly.
Next are Ange R and Bobby. Ange R was death slot and Bobby still has Diane's/Joe's fanbase behind them.
If Adam does have health issues but isn't going on about them, and it's his second DO, they'll let him go.
If they were hoping for an Ange R Blackpool tie-in (and she could still have been in the audience, even if gets knocked out next week) and they've saved her, then they'll be hoping for a poor dance from Annabel next week.
If Adam has gone, Ange R will have to pull out something amazing to beat her.
She only really has Paso and AS left that may suit her. You can't avoid jive AND samba AND salsa the further you get.

Choux · 05/11/2023 09:00

Someone on Twitter said it was Adam v Angela R with Adam gone but it's not verified from a reliable source yet.

If Adam was in the DO again I think the judges will have been told to let him go. For the last few weeks there have been reports of him having to miss training due to his RA and the dancing gets more intense as the final nears - you then have to do two dances, prep your show dance. If he had to pull out through illness there would then be only two people in the final which isn't ideal. And if one of those finalists got an injury like AJ which is feasible given Layton's acrobatics then there would be no final.

Adam will be let go if he is in the dance off.

I think he will make the final, get even more arrogant and cocky with his fake side of I'm working so hard humbleness and then will be fuming when the public vote for someone else.

He is being so overmarked especially by Shirley, but the public don't like a ringer, we like the journey! Like KGM, someone who was shit and is actually getting better week on week.

I think we'll see Layton in the DO in three weeks time.

I don't think we will get a spoiler

HeadAgainstWall0923 · 05/11/2023 09:08

I’m obsessively checking the Spoiler Webpage…

For what reasons wouldn’t the Spoiler be released?

EvilRingahBitch · 05/11/2023 09:09

Dave Thorpe apparently has a mysterious insider contact who can provide spoilers on Sunday morning if all else fails, so I assume we'll hear any moment now.

I'd be surprised if it's anything other than Adam vs Angela R with the former going home - that's what the polls point to.

HeadAgainstWall0923 · 05/11/2023 09:10

Surely there’d be uproar if Angela was saved over Adam???

That would surely be a tactical and unfair elimination?

Well if the source is uncontactable then we won't get it. Remember the source is a part of the show crew and the BBC have made a thing about trying to find out who he is.

I am amazed that there aren't multiple people leaving the Strictly audience and telling a friend or relative the result and they then post it on social media. Perhaps the BBC are asking audience members to not tell anyone till Sunday night. 'Just remember what happens in the results is our little strictly secret. Tell no one the result'.

I didn't see the show last night as I was out but checked the leaderboard and as Angela S, Angela R and Adam were bottom 3, I'd expect Adam vs one of the Angelas in the dance off.

The judges will absolutely save Angela R over him, or Angela S. She is their clear favourite and they will push her through at all costs. Haven't seen last night's dances - scoring seems very high for week 7, Ellie getting 39 is great but doesn't leave much room for improvement, does it??

TheShellBeach · 05/11/2023 09:19

I've always wondered how the BBC can police that.
Surely once the audience has left, the BBC has no control over it.

EvilRingahBitch · 05/11/2023 09:20

I don't think there would be much protest if Adam went over Angela R. I'm really rooting for Adam but that rumba wasn't great from him, and for the casual viewer it'll look even worse. He doesn't have a fan base who'd riot.
Based on the judges scores Adam scored
6,7,7,7 and Angela R scored 7,8,6,7, so barring a terrible cockup from
Angela in the DO (highly unlikely in a waltz) it's entirely plausible that three judges would save her with a consolation vote for Adam from Shirley.

I agree that if his RA problems are getting worse he should probably go before he had to quit. I remember Ugo Monye who had terrible back (?) problems was given an almost immobile Rumba before being swiftly voted off.

Exactly, there is no way they can hold it in completely.

I have done a wee bit of extra work now and again for both big movie companies and TV production, they always make you sign a non-disclosure agreement stating you will not talk about what you've seen and some even ban you from saying you were working on a specific show/movie but when you have 300+ extras on set news is going to leak and you don't know who leaked it.

EvilRingahBitch · 05/11/2023 09:35

The BBC normally don't control it, but of course the problem is that there are often trolls on Twitter leaking fake spoilers for attention. If anyone can post "I was at the filming last night Layton and Ellie were in the DO and Layton went home #shock #SCD" anonymously for attention, or indeed "I was at the filming last night Adam and Angela R were in the DO and Adam went home #shock #SCD" which might be true but is an easy guess to makeup. Then how do you know what spoiler to believe?

The Digital Spy thread comes from 2 sources who have moles or random volunteer moles who presumably share photos of their tickets to prove they're actually there.

Choux · 05/11/2023 09:47

I imagine the audience are strictly superfans who aim to get tickets each series. Being found to be a mole would likely get you banned from future audiences so they have an incentive to keep quiet. They won't want to risk shoeing their ticket photo plus spoiler to Dave Thorp who runs the digital spy spoiler.

Stroopwaffels · 05/11/2023 09:52

I don't think the audience is the same people - it's a ballot/draw and thousands enter. Then crew, and friends/family of the contestants. I know he had real issues with spoilers the year it was all covid-y and they had a much reduced audience.

TheShellBeach · 05/11/2023 09:56

Does Dave Thorp run DS?

The English grammar on it would suggest otherwise..........

TheShellBeach · 05/11/2023 09:58

I mean that whoever writes the copy in DS has excellent grammar and spelling.

That is not the case with the Spoiler website (and the associated Patreon).

Choux · 05/11/2023 10:01

Dave and someone called Juliet are the posters who have sources and can confirm spoilers hence I said they run the spoiler. No idea who runs the whole DS site.

The ticketing may be a ballot but, if you want to go, you need to make sure you aren't banned for having leaked a previous result.

Choux · 05/11/2023 10:02

I am checking here. We may be talking about different sites?

I suppose the thing is that Dave Thorpe can't rely on an audience member unless he personally knows them (hifghly unlikely) - they could just as easily deliberately feed him duff information as accurate.

Even if he got umpteen reports, there is likely to be both right and wrong names mentioned more than once. He needs someone he can rely on - has to know they're kosher.
