She did an interview in the papers a few weeks ago and came across very well. Discussed her husbands death and detail about how they found out and some horrible comments from insensitive nurses that I think a lot of people will have related to within their own families.
I read an article about what she said about the nurse and I don't think she came across well at all. She said the nurse was a psychopath and mocked her son. It appeared to be in the final days of what was a very short but terminal illness for her husband and I can imagine that it was very hard for the family to get their head around the fact he was dying but the nurse seemed to be conveying factual information. They way it's written the nurse seemed to be blunt but then if you call a nurse a psychopath you can't then be nice about how they say things.
To me Annabel - in the interview I read - came across as a woman who had spent her life being dependent on her husband to deal with life's stresses. When he was diagnosed and so swiftly declined she was unable to deal with the situation and face reality and so took offence at a nurse giving Mel factual information about his condition and wanted the nurse to discuss with her what he was told. She also said the dr who delivered the diagnosis was too blunt. Obviously I wasn't there and we only heard one side of the story but I don't think it painted her very well to say 'not only did my husband pass away but the drs and nurses were dreadfully blunt about it'. Interestingly she doesn't say she complained to anyone.
I wonder if she is needing someone to blame / hate for the situation she is in and is focusing on the drs and nurses actions. Anyway this is the spoiler thread so apologies for the derail.
