I do enjoy Glow Up. I think Val and Dominic are very fair judges and give everyone constructive feedback, and they really know their stuff

There has been A LOT of shrieking and screaming so far but since starting to do some actual make up, things have calmed down. Not keen on the new host so far, she's very stiff and fake. Maybe it's nerves and she will settle in

Interesting that none of us have mentioned Axel. He seems like a nice bloke but I honestly don't know what I think about any of his looks, finding it hard to remember them tbh!

Axel reminds me of Baron von biscuits from Strictly.

Val especially has been very “Team Roo” the whole season. Kieran is lovely he just lacks confidence. I don’t care for Roo at all. All the crying about how they were a “risk taker” deck off! No you weren’t you simply didn’t finish!! (Again!!) Saffrons looks much more risk taking that anything Roo did. Axel’s look was too. I feel they very negative on Kieran and pick up little details where as with Roo they can get away with everything (esp in Val’s eyes). Arrg indeed.

Kieran should have gone last week. I think they’re a sulky brat when they’re not being praised all the time.

Honestly, they may as well roll a dice to see who goes and who stays - the judgments all seem so random to me.

Zara and Daisy - bonny enough make up but they are beautiful women and would have looked bob on in Max Factor powder and a slick of Heather Shimmer.

Saphron is miles ahead of the others and has been from the start. But I have a fear egg-obsessed Roo will do something left field in the final and the judges will swoon. Roo is quirky for the sake of it which is always a bit tiresome.

Roo's crying and inability to keep to time wouldn't do her any good in a professional setting. She'd be out on her "risk taking" arse in two minutes flat!

(Plus, Roo darling - if you "take risks" you have to accept that at least some of the time you won't pull them off.)

I disagree with "sulky" - I think he just feels "knocked back" and very low, and that's a confidence thing - but I agree that it's something he needs to address if he wants to work in this sort of business.

But either way I'd rather that than Roo's weeping and self-pity and "I'm such a risk-taking perfectionist and so artistic" schtick

I knew they were going to do that 😡, I agree Val is definitely team Roo.

Thisis what is worrying me.

Saphron is streets ahead of the others - she's not "quirky", but she's imaginative, original, knows how to apply make-up, prosthetics, follow a brief, keeps to time, and she is RELIABLE and DOESN'T FART ABOUT.

@ArcaneWireless - I hadn't heard of the slebs either, but that's not unusual (I don't get out much 😄)

Also agree that "sh1te"* summed up Roo's "look" (for want of a better word) rather than "original" or "risk-taking" . There's a difference between original/ creative/ risk-taking/ bold and just plain cracked.

I actually feel sorry for Roo - Keiran may not be as skilled but he is very likeable Roo isn't, but she is also a desperate attention-seeker. Did she say that her parents both work in theatre (can't remember and don't care enough to go back to the first episode)? Did she not get enough praise as a child?

Keiran just gets on with stuff and does his best. Roo is more skilled, but everything is about her showcasing herself, and not thinking abut the brief she has been given. Those face prosthetics were ridiculous! What was the point? She could have shaped little faces out of foam or summat if she wanted them - she didn't have to show off and make tiny empty heads to fill up with liquid. They added nothing the look anyway. Even if she'd finished within the time frame they had no impact - it was just a "look at me", "look wot I done" . "aren't I clevva".

If she wins I will be OUTRAGED! 😡

(And it would be a waste because nobody would employ her and her artistic risk-taking temperament anyway)

Roo's hair annoys me so much. It's not a quirky look, or cool, or interesting - it's just flat out hideous. I'm not wild about Saphron's pink and black hair but it's an interesting look and I get it

Hahhaha that is the truth.

I'm also outraged - they should both have gone. I'd have happily taken an Axel/Saphron final (and obviously a Saphron win). Keiran is a decent person and clearly feels they're the underdog as they left school and became a hairdresser and while everyone else is chuntering about their degree projects he's feeling like the odd one out. I think he's got a lot of potential, get him on a decent course and he'll be amazing.

Roo bothers me as she seems very privileged but hasn't developed any backbone to go with her talent - her work this week was literally laughable, I could have done better with stuff from my kitchen and a pot of paint.

BTW does anyone actually believe Roo is a painter and decorator??? Surely that would have given her a rough idea of how long things take.
