Whitney is 30!

And had more happen to her than a woman twice her age!

Mrsjayy · 31/05/2023 21:43

Phil offering to help pay for the funeral before Lola had even died. Surely nobody could be that unfeeling!

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 21:49

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 21:59

It's sad mrs Jay :(
Well done though

JMSA · 31/05/2023 22:00

I watched it completely dry-eyed.
Am I a freak? 😂

My friends dh paid for his Mil and had sorted her funeral as she was dying I think that is how some people cope,

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 22:03

JMSA , you are !! ..
It was very moving I thought
Mind you , I do realize it's not real life. But I liked the character

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 22:04

My late mils had a pre paid funeral !
It made life so much easier tbh
Saved a lot of money too

CherryCokeFanatic · 31/05/2023 23:15

Eyes wet the last minute or so when Jay walks in and discovers her and Lexi wakes

Also Honey was with Jay?! I had to Google after the episode. What a strange time covid was clearly.

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 23:22

Honey was with Jay for a while.
Strange set up really.

VivienneDelacroix · 31/05/2023 23:26

I hardly ever cry, but the last minute or so got me. All I could think of was my friend who died 5 years ago - her children were 6 and 8. She was able to say goodbye to them a day or so before she died and that thought, coupled with Lola dying in Lexi's arms just broke me.

Exactly this. Thought she was Dot's age!

I was ok until they started playing Julia's theme. That always gets me, they could play it over anything and I'd cry

BrutusMcDogface · 01/06/2023 09:18

It was the fox at the end that got me. I loved that. 😔

BrutusMcDogface · 01/06/2023 09:19

Also, Ben is going to spiral so much when he gets back and realises she’s gone. I thought he was going to arrive back in the middle of the night, just in time.

I'm glad he didn't. Allowed her a peaceful death.

BrutusMcDogface · 01/06/2023 09:42

Yes, that is true.

qazxc · 01/06/2023 10:43

Yes Ben not being there might have been a blessing in disguise, he doesn't react well to things/ it would have been about him. Maybe he can be stuck in transit until after the funeral. (I'm in Ireland though we do death/wake/funeral in a few days, I believe it takes longer in the UK)
Phil talking about paying for the funeral fits with his character, he can't (or won't, because he's haaard) express his emotions (unless it's anger but that's acceptable macho emotion). So instead he throws money around to show he cares.

My dh funeral was over 3w away

I understand it's 3 days in Ireland but how do employers cope
With people suddenly missing work
