Anyone else watching? Loving it.

The two leads are married in real life and wrote it.

Didn't know they were married IRL.

SirChenjins · 13/04/2023 20:51

Yes - we are! We binge watched it and ver a couple of evenings, it’s brilliant! I wondered if they were together in RL, they were very easy with each other and there’s a real chemistry there.

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 13/04/2023 20:55

We are watching it. Love it so far! I really enjoy Australian comedy.

Me too. One of my guilty pleasures is The Heart Doctor

Watched it on a flight back from oz a couple of weeks ago , bloody loved it ! Enjoy !!

CaptainMyCaptain · 13/04/2023 21:08

I watched it all in one go. Loved it and was sorry when it ended quite suddenly. I hope we find out what happened next.

ExtremelyDetermined · 13/04/2023 21:08

Watched the first episode this afternoon, thought it was great.

SirChenjins · 13/04/2023 21:08

Surely there will be a second series? 🤞

Nimblesandbimbles · 13/04/2023 21:15

I enjoyed it but some of the jokes seemed a bit old school. Also I wasn’t sure I agreed with the Guardian review about it being super original in terms of the female character.

VenusStarr · 13/04/2023 21:22

I really enjoyed the first episode. I've not watched more though yet. It was funny and love Colin.

bunnybunnybunnybunny · 13/04/2023 21:50

Watched the first three episodes last night and love it so far.

WakeMeUpInspring · 14/04/2023 12:39

I really hope there's a second series.

Me too @WakeMeUpInspring We loved it!

redrobin75 · 14/04/2023 22:53

It's really funny, I've watched 2 episodes so far.

the80sweregreat · 15/04/2023 19:38

It's really nice. Easy to watch, nothing too horrible and Colin is a sweetie

Random789 · 16/04/2023 00:20

Just binge-watched the whole series. I thought the first three or four episodes were really very funny, but then it seemed t go off the rails a bit and there was one episode where just about everyone in it (apart from the lovely colleagues in the microbrewery ) was really nauseating.

Agree with an earlier poster that the guardian review was puzzling. I read it before seeing the show and it led me to expect something very different. She's definitely a familiar comedy-type, likeable and funny but nothing like the guardian's take.

Colin was excellent of course.

NBLarsen · 16/04/2023 00:46

I started watching this today and was disappointed! There are some real laugh out loud moments but not much in between, and all of the characters seem really cliche. I'm persevering, hope it picks up before the end.

Netaporter · 16/04/2023 03:28

Watched it all and loved it. Some really great laugh out loud moments. Definitely recommend.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 16/04/2023 03:31

I got irritated by them half way through the first episode.

Willmafrockfit · 16/04/2023 10:22

thanks for the recommendation
gave it a go last night after watching a very disappointing film,
it did lighten the mood a bit

Yes in particular I found the friends just horrible.

the80sweregreat · 17/04/2023 10:04

I had the impression that Australians were pretty upfront about things, but Gordon seemed almost British in his awkward behavior and the way he spoke at times!
I liked his character more than Amy though. She was annoying.
I Loved his car too and Colin having his own fan club in Australia is lovely. Brett was funny

Yes the more I think about it the more puzzled I am by that review!
I actually felt this production was full of stereotypes & also a lot of the jokes were pretty misogynistic really. I didn’t like the portrayal of the 40 year old vet who was obsessed with Gordon & a bit stalkerish. I felt quite sorry for her. Also lots of jokes about tits & the fact that there was an older male lead & young female love interest (yes I know they are in a relationship in real life). I have heard that Australia is quite misogynistic still & this confirmed it for me. As I said the jokes seemed very old school. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it but it certainly wasn’t refreshing in any way.

The friends were horrible. It wasn't about the age difference they were just horrible.
