Anyone else watching? Loving it.

The two leads are married in real life and wrote it.

Just watched this and adored it.

pjani · 21/04/2023 22:36

It took me forever to watch episode 7 with the obnoxious friends as I was just so uncomfortable with everyone being so awful. 8 redeemed it! The lovely/awful family was so well done.

There were so many fantastic lines and characters throughout. I found the mum in the 8th episode pretty hysterical, I screamed at the bath photo moment. I do however agree the Guardian review wasn’t quite right and there was some old school humour in there.

MichaelAndEagle · 21/04/2023 23:21

Just found this thread because I'm watching episode 7 and can't believe how the friends are acting!! They're 30 not 21!!

Will watch episode 8 straight away!!

pjani · 22/04/2023 09:30

@MichaelAndEagle did episode 8 redeem episode 7 for you?

MichaelAndEagle · 22/04/2023 09:58

Yes, I thought it was a good ending.
Her friends are dicks though.

Sux2buthen · 22/04/2023 14:33

Damon from coronation street turning up was very random.
Nice programme I liked it

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/04/2023 17:32

Started watching this yesterday , now on Ep7
not loving this one tbh

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 24/04/2023 22:17

I've only watched a couple of episodes but I'm loving it so far.

ThreeFeetTall · 24/04/2023 22:26

I quite liked it but is flashing your breast at a stranger in the street...a thing?

ThreeFeetTall · 24/04/2023 22:27

I've only watched the first ep though

Had to fast forward the birthday with friends it was so cringe.
Enjoyed the rest of it though.
Poor dog.

Margot78 · 28/04/2023 23:33

I’m on episode three, me and dh were howling at “he misses you”. Bloody brilliant!

Willmafrockfit · 29/04/2023 09:39

that was so funny, he misses you

spacechimp79 · 29/04/2023 14:43

I really enjoyed it but yes totally detested her friends and that was my least favourite episode.

topcat2014 · 29/04/2023 14:47

@KellyMarieTunstall2 how is the ironing board?

notprincehamlet · 29/04/2023 21:56

Really wanted to like this but just no. Had to make myself sit through to the end of the first episode. Also even if the water had been turned off there would have been some water in the tank/pipes and the cistern would have been full. That annoyed me more than the hackneyed comedy Grin

the80sweregreat · 30/04/2023 10:08

I was cringing during the first episode and also worried about two things
How would she wash her hands
How could she access some drinking water for Colin?
Personally , I would have put more loo paper down the loo and opened the window. With the thought i would tell him once he came home to flush it before using it. She did try to flush , but it didn't work.
Tried the water taps outside ( although she wasn't aware the water was off every where at that point) to see if I could use a bucket of water from there to flush it away or something like that
Or check for some bottled water in the fridge
I might have even checked with the neighbours if they had water or gone out to buy some (and some hand sanitizer ) , if only so I could give the dog a drink.
I would not have thrown anything out of a window for sure.
(Overthinking about a comedy show right there . Lol)

I’ve just gone back to episode 3 to enjoy this scene again!

There was a series called Bump about a pregnant school girl which was good and pulled no punches but was still funny. I think its target audience was teenagers - the birth scene should be shown in schools to put them off sex forever.

I love Bump and recommended it on another thread. Some great actors.

Willmafrockfit · 30/04/2023 21:52

i also loved Bump

CaptainMyCaptain · 30/04/2023 22:14

I saw a trailer for a new series called Ten Pound Poms. I don't know whether it's a British or Australian production but it could be good.

Yes, it’s the BBC1 Sunday evening 9pm drama for this summer. Starts on 14 May.
