This starts Wednesday week on BBC1 (22 March).

Anyone want to join me on a thread about it? I saw some episodes of the previous two series but didn't watch them all and am kicking myself about it now because it really is such an interesting and beautifully shot reality series.

So am going to watch the whole of the next one - this time in Canada!

I'm going to guess that we'll see a better side to taxi dad as even though it was clear there were problems, she said they were more like friends. And they must get on, to go on the programme.
But agree with everyone that it wasn't good watching

Love this program & Canada. Highlight for us was driving to Vancouver & as a pp
said cars parked on the road with a blank bear on the side. Absolutely amazing to see in its habitat.

A lot is to do with the editing but so far like Ladi & Monique, the brothers & two friends equally, married couple then taxi man & dd. However I suspect a lot is to do with editing so we see what the producers want us to see.

Only watched this last night. Loved the first two series and like everyone else was surprised that it was 'only' in Canada but loving it so far and the scenery!! I have a friend who now lives in North Vancouver Island so I was texting her last night about it. My DD couldn't get over how nice and helpful all the Canadians are! My friend said they really are. Can't wait for the next episode.

Just checking in as a placemark, planning on catching up tonight.

I too worried for the ladies at the beginning, thought they'd never get out of the park.

Dd1 & I finally caught up with Ep1 tonight.
Team Ladi & Monique for us so far with Tricky & Cathy 2nd faves - obv taxi guy & Claudia didn't come across well - did they actually talk to anyone & ask for help but that will probably change.

Watched the first episode this morning (whilst ironing). Loved the two friends combo, and hoping the brother will gain a lot from it.

Glad it’s living up to the previous series in that it’s showing us beautiful countryside, plus the contestants are ‘ordinary’ people, rather than wannabe tv stars.

I wonder how the lovely mum and son are doing from the last series - I remember they didn’t finish the journey due to running out of money so spent their final money going horse riding. (Sorry if it’s been mentioned on this thread - haven’t read it yet as I didn’t want any spoilers).

I think pp just meant spoilers as they hadn't watched the episode yet.

I don't think so she literally put in her post that she's watched it this morning and she put which people she liked in it as well!

If you’re referring to my post, I commented after watching the programme, but I haven’t read the whole thread yet. I wanted to watch it fresh, rather than having pre-conceived ideas about the contestants.

Yes that's what I meant that you had watched it now but hadn't yet caught up with the thread as hasn't wanted to see spoilers.

Yeah I should have been clearer I meant 'hadn't watched it yet' up until the point of their post which is why they hadn't read the thread yet as only just watched it

I also don't think they were complaining that there would be 'spoilers' just noting that as they hadn't watched yet there would be spoilers to them (I did the same, only watched on a Saturday so didn't read the thread until then as didn't want to ruin anything).

Yes but they hadn't had chance to RTFT yet as had only just watched it and therefore might have been repeating something said upthread.

I do think it's still a spoiler if you haven't watched it you just can't expect a thread to have no spoilers once something has been aired on tv so you need to choose not to read threads yourself as pp did.

Anyway let's move on! Any predications as to who will get to the next check point first? I think when they are all getting off the island at the same time taxi man and daughter are going to have a think about how much money they have wasted so far!

I think taxi dad will need to spend some time working, so I don't think they will be first. But could be any of the others, there is so little in it. I reckon the friends, the married couple, and Ladi and Monique are happier approaching strangers which makes a difference.

I assume that the next checkpoint will be even harder to get to! Given that I reckon the married couple stand a good chance of being first - they did so well to get a lift from the lake guy and I feel their skills and personalities compliment (complement?) each other well!

Looking forward to tonights episode. It seems all the teams have a weaker partner unless it’s an act and they start stepping up to the plate.

I hope they don’t all finish at the same time like episode one. Some of them
need to take jobs pronto!

I’m not routing for anyone as in previous series. They all seem a bit bland.
