Race Across The World - Series 3

This starts Wednesday week on BBC1 (22 March).

Anyone want to join me on a thread about it? I saw some episodes of the previous two series but didn't watch them all and am kicking myself about it now because it really is such an interesting and beautifully shot reality series.

So am going to watch the whole of the next one - this time in Canada!

The direct train from Montreal to Halifax is $184 and takes 18 hours.

I enjoyed this episode, I am sure Amber was planted but it made it fun. I really like all the couples so I don’t think I mind who wins. It would be really nice if they just did it together and split the money tbh.

Ladi meeting someone Jamaican and with his jerk chicken really made me laugh 😊🤣

Amber was lovely and I felt so bad for her 😟

I'm not a person who disliked Kevin through the series. He had his faults but I didn't dislike him like a lot of people seem to on here.

God it made me cry 😢

They didn't show the Jamaican truck drivers face did they ?

The cannabis shop lady was strange , very kind but a bit odd too. Her driving did seem erratic
I felt sorry for K and C at the end though.
I want Zainab and Mobeen to win.
I do like cathie and Trish. I think next week should be exciting

Also, why would Zainab and Mobeen turn down a free lift to Halifax to go rafting. The woman was laid going within spitting distance if the checkpoint but it didn't occur to them to ask to ask to go with her rather than get out part way.

They aren't really racing any more.

Maybe they do need to clock up a certain number of activities/sightseeing hours during the race and rafting was their last chance to do that!?

I know they all do a mixture but Mobeen and Zainib have always said they're keen to get the experiences in as well. So I don't think they were being any different to any other weeks

Maybe, but if there are a bunch of extra rules like that, the show should be open about it, because neither turning down an almost direct train or an almost direct lift makes sense otherwise.

I don't mind if Zainib/Mobeen or Monique/Ladi win, There's something about Cathy that grates with me.

I get the impression that they've got enjoyment out of some of the work they've chosen to do like the ranch from early on and teepee building this week.

I may be wrong but I feel Cathy is very focused on winning so may have seen experiences as a waste of time

They get 3 days downtime at each checkpoint which is rarely filmed, and seems to be separate to their "travelling" budget so it's possible they are doing trips and experiences during the rest periods they are paying for themselves.

Didn't Tricia and Cathy go sightseeing up one of the big towers? I'm sure I remember that as didn't it make them miss a connection or something?

But yes, they definitely seem to have done less than the others.

Series 1 Tony and Elaine def seemed to do less work and less fun experiences than the other teams too.

The way that it doesn't matter how much/little work or sightseeing they do - it's still a race to the finish shows how fake the whole thing is I think.

If this were real, they would end up being days (minimum!) between contestants, but where's the drama in that eh 🙄
